A place to begin.
A place to belong.
Before they can read or write, children know how it feels to belong. They notice smiles. They feel the warmth of a welcome. That’s what Faith’s new Primary School is built on - a deep belief that every child is known, loved, and capable of remarkable things. At Faith, we don’t just prepare students for assessment. We nurture thinkers, explorers, storytellers, and questioners from the moment they walk through the gate. This is not just a new primary school. It’s a beginning - of wonder, curiosity, discovery… and deep, lifelong learning.

NOT YOUR PRIMARY SCHOOL. For generations, schools have been divided into Primary School and High School. At Faith Lutheran College, we are building a sub-school model designed to align with how students learn and develop, while ensuring all programs satisfy the Australian Curriculum guidelines. This new structure is grounded in educational best practice and research into child development and learning transitions.
Here’s why it matters: 1. Building smoother transitions The jump from Year 6 to Year 7 is one of the biggest and most disruptive transitions in a child’s education. Many children struggle with the shift in expectations, independence, and teaching styles, leading to a drop in engagement and performance. At Faith, our new structure removes this challenging leap for students, paving a smoother learning journey from the upper primary (Years 5 and 6) into the beginning of high school (Years 7 and 8). 2. Our model aligns with how children learn Our approach is built on current research into how students develop cognitively, emotionally, and socially. 3. Stronger relationships, better wellbeing Schools often have natural divisions between primary and high school teachers, making it harder for staff to collaborate on student needs. At Faith, our phased model with small subschools fosters stronger teacher-student relationships over time, ensuring that no child ‘falls through the cracks’ during key transitions. 4. Improved student engagement and success Schools that remove barriers between primary and high school have seen improvements in: • Student confidence and motivation • Academic performance by reducing the challenges of transitioning into Year 7 • Teacher collaboration, leading to better support for students

Awakening Potential and Empowering Learners for Purposeful Lives through Christ. At Faith, we believe each child is created in the image of God and is unique and perfectly made. That’s why we are challenging the traditional, industrial model of education and exploring new ways to cater to our students’ needs. We believe that it’s not our role as educators to simply impart knowledge and skills to our students – we must provide a vibrant and authentic education that prepares our young people to boldly and confidently shape our world. To achieve this, we create a positive and supportive learning environment that encourages students to take risks, ask questions, and challenge themselves. This educational philosophy will flow into our new primary school. The sub-schools will provide us with the structure to support our students, no matter what phase they are in.
JUNIOR SCHOOL Wonder Phase Prep to Year 2 Wonder Phase nurtures imagination and foundational skills, with play-based learning and rich sensory experiences.
Curiosity Phase Years 3 and 4 Curiosity Phase builds on a student’s natural questioning and problem-solving abilities.
MIDDLE SCHOOL Discovery Phase Years 5 and 6 Discovery Phase encourages independence while maintaining strong teacher relationships.
Foundation Phase Years 7 and 8 Foundation Phase provides stability as students navigate adolescence, ensuring they don’t feel ‘lost’ as they commence high school.
SENIOR SCHOOL Exploration Phase Years 9 and 10 Exploration Phase allows students to test subjects, interests, and real-world learning without immediate pressure. Faith Primary Prospectus
Graduate Phase Years 11 and 12 In Graduate Phase, students transition into adult learners, preparing for their future with autonomy and real-world readiness.
Spaces that
spark learning. Step into our new primary school and you’ll notice something instantly: this is no ordinary classroom.
You’ll see sunlight streaming through high ceilings, natural textures that calm the senses, and spaces that feel more like art studios or nature-inspired workshops than traditional rooms with rows of desks.

We believe that children are influenced by their environment — not just in how they feel, but in how they learn, create, and relate to others. That’s why every space in our primary school has been designed with purpose and heart. Inspired by the Reggio Emilia philosophy, our learning environments are the “third teacher” — intentionally designed to encourage exploration, collaboration, and a sense of wonder. At Faith Lutheran College, our learning spaces: • Feature high ceilings and large windows, inviting in natural light to create warm, open and uplifting spaces. • Use a natural, earthy colour palette drawn from the local landscape to calm, inspire, and connect children to the world around them. • Are designed with flexibility in mind, allowing rooms to open into larger shared spaces or close into more intimate learning zones. • Support a variety of learning modes — from quiet reflection and focused smallgroup work to active, project-based collaboration. • Encourage children to move, interact, and engage with the space and each other. • Showcase student learning through visible documentation — turning walls into storytelling canvases. • Create a sense of safety, beauty and belonging for every learner. These are spaces where students don’t just sit — they build, create, question, wonder, lead, and belong. It’s a physical environment that reflects our learning philosophy: open, responsive, and deeply human.

More than a
Classroom Experience At Faith, we believe school should be a place where children don’t just learn - they come alive. In our new primary school, we’re building a student experience that nurtures the whole child. One that recognises their need to move, to explore, to create, and to belong. We know children thrive when they’re active - not just physically, but socially, emotionally, and spiritually. Our school day will be designed with rhythm and movement in mind. From play-based learning in the early years to hands-on projects and active outdoor exploration in later years, students will learn through doing - not just sitting and listening. School life at Faith will be joyful, creative, and full of meaningful opportunities to grow.
6
Here’s what student life will look like: • Regular outdoor play and exploration woven into the daily routine. • Movement-rich learning that keeps bodies active and minds engaged. • Specialist programs in The Arts, agriculture, languages, and sport. • Opportunities for creativity through visual arts, performance and storytelling. • Chapel, Christian Studies, and shared moments that build spiritual life and values. • Hands-on inquiry and projects that connect to the real world. • Clubs, lunchtime activities, and leadership opportunities. • Carefully designed wellbeing programs that build confidence and emotional literacy. • Restorative Practices will guide relationships, conflict resolution, and community building.
Co-curricular experiences will include: • Intra-school sport and local interschool competition (Years 5–6). • Instrumental music, choir, and creative arts opportunities. • Outdoor education and ageappropriate camps focused on connection and resilience. Faith’s primary school will be a place where every child feels known and celebrated. A place where learning doesn’t just happen between four walls but in every facet of school life.
We’re not just building classrooms. We’re building a vibrant, connected community where every child has space to grow and shine. Faith Primary Prospectus

Wonder Phase The Wonder Phase will provide children from Prep to Year 2 with a nurturing, play-based start to their formal schooling. In the Wonder Phase, we nurture the innate sense of awe and wonder in our youngest learners. This phase focuses on creating a safe and joyful environment where children feel loved, valued, and capable. Through play-based learning and rich sensory experiences, students explore the world around them, developing foundational skills in literacy, numeracy, and social interactions. Guided by the principles of God’s love and care, we encourage children to ask questions, seek answers, and celebrate their unique gifts and talents, laying the groundwork for their educational journey.
The Wonder Phase is a critical developmental period where
children discover the joy and love of learning.
Faith’s Wonder Phase will be characterised by: • Developing a love of learning through play, exploration, and relationships. • Learning through play and hands-on experiences. • Open learning spaces designed to spark imagination. • A Reggio Emilia-inspired environment where children’s voices shape their learning journey. • Integration of nature and movement into everyday learning. • Early foundational skills in literacy and inumeracy through storytelling, project work, and discovery.

Curiosity Phase The Curiosity Phase, as the name suggests, is designed to shape children’s natural curiosity into deeply embedded learning for life.
Inspired by our faith, we teach children to view the world with wonder and appreciation, recognising the beauty and intricacy of God’s creation.
In the Curiosity Phase, we build upon the foundation laid in the Wonder Phase, fostering a deeper sense of inquiry and exploration.
• Building deeper understanding through inquiry and collaboration.
Students are encouraged to pursue their interests and delve into projects that captivate their imagination and intellect. Learning is hands-on and collaborative, emphasising the joy of curiosity and the excitement of learning new things. Literacy and numeracy skills continue to be a focus, integrated into engaging and meaningful contexts.
The Curiosity Phase is a time for:
• Project-based learning to encourage questioning and exploration. • Flexible learning spaces that adapt to student needs. • Introduction to STEM, creative arts, and problem-solving challenges. • Student-led investigations, fostering responsibility and ownership of learning. • Collaboration and teamwork through i small group and whole-class projects.
i We guide students to see learning as a dynamic and enriching experience, where their natural curiosity is encouraged and nurtured.
12
As a general guide, children who completed Prep and Year 1 in 2025 will be eligible to commence in the Curiosity Phase in Year 3 or 4 in 2028.

Discovery Phase
In Years 5 and 6, children are on the edge of something new. They’re still young enough to play, but old enough to start asking big questions. The Discovery Phase captures this beautiful tension — providing the structure they need and the freedom they crave. Here, we encourage students to step up, take ownership of their learning, and explore what it means to be part of a community.
14
They try, they fail, they try again — with trusted teachers guiding them, not just academically, but emotionally, socially and spiritually. It’s here they begin to uncover who they are, what they love, and how they learn best. By the time they move into Foundation Phase in Year 7, they’re not making a leap — they’re simply taking the next step on a path they’ve already begun.
Preparing confident, capable learners ready for the next step of their educational journey. Integrated, real-world learning experiences. Development of independence and leadership skills. Opportunities to engage in innovation, entrepreneurship, and problem-solving. A strong transition to secondary school, preparing students for high school expectations. Authentic connections to global perspectives, sustainability, and service-learning. Faith Primary Prospectus

Enrol Now for Faith’s Primary School As Faith Lutheran College continues to grow, so does the demand for places - particularly in Year 7. By enrolling in our primary school, your child will not only secure their place in our College but also gain a significant advantage in their transition to secondary education. With three full streams in Year 6 moving into Year 7 and priority given to siblings of current families, spaces for new students in Year 7 will be limited. Enrolling earlier ensures that your child does not miss out on the opportunity to be part of a school that nurtures their potential and prepares them for a bright future.
16
Beyond securing a place in our high school, starting at Faith Lutheran College in the primary years allows your child to build strong friendships, develop leadership skills, and immerse themselves in our unique learning environment before the secondary years begin. This smooth transition fosters confidence, resilience, and a deep sense of belonging, setting them up for success from day one of Year 7. Don’t wait until it’s too late - give your child the best start by enrolling now.

This poem was written by Loris Malaguzzi, founder of the Reggio Emilia approach to learning. The message of this poem aligns deeply with Faith’s approach to learning.
The child is made of one hundred. The child has a hundred languages a hundred hands a hundred thoughts a hundred ways of thinking of playing, of speaking. A hundred always a hundred ways of listening of marveling of loving a hundred joys for singing and understanding a hundred worlds to discover a hundred worlds to invent a hundred worlds to dream. The child has a hundred languages (and a hundred hundred hundred more) but they steal ninety-nine. The school and the culture separate the head from the body. They tell the child: to think without hands to do without head to listen and not to speak to understand without joy to love and to marvel only at Easter and Christmas. They tell the child: to discover the world already there and of the hundred they steal ninety-nine. They tell the child: that work and play reality and fantasy science and imagination sky and earth reason and dream are things that do not belong together. And thus they tell the child that the hundred is not there. The child says: No way. The hundred is there.
