Still has style aces up his sleeve.
NICOLA FORMICHETTI
MEAT AND MORE
His career was practically preordained. Dad? Pilot. Mom? Flight attendant. And the son? Nicola Formichetti has lifted the fashion world to cruising altitude over the past decade. His collaboration with Lady Gaga early in her career delivered unforgettable looks – none more so than that infamous meat dress at the 2010 MTV VMAs. Now, after stints as creative director at Mugler and Diesel, and running his own label Nicopanda, Nicola’s hungry for more: he’s just taken over as Global Creative Director at MAC. 26

ELISA DE ALMEIDA
STYLE OFFENSE
Our European champion bowed out in the quarterfinals, when France’s women’s team was eliminated from the tournament. That meant summer break came a little early for Elisa de Almeida. No matter – more time to post on Instagram, where she looks sharper in a suit than most men sipping espresso in Milan cafés. With her androgynous stylings, the French defender has become a fashion icon for those more into David Bowie than David Beckham. N°02 / 2025

LIP COUTURE
Usually, the Paris-based textile art duo Laetitia Baqué and Victor Molinié apply their embroidery mastery to haute couture houses. This time, they scaled things down – but not the craftsmanship. For Guerlain, they created a matte black lipstick case adorned with an embroidered feather, golden chains, and red pearls. The limited-edition treasure comes with three shades: Nude Intense Satin, Rouge Kiss Satin, and Rouge Vibrant Velvet. PERFECTLY MESSY
Indie Sleaze is officially back in fashion. To block out all the chaos 2025 throws at us, our brains romanticize the 2000s: deliberately unpolished looks straight out of Kate Moss and Alexa Chung’s Glastonbury closets, when life seemed a little lighter. Now all that’s missing is the haircut to match. Enter the shag: a layered, slightly chaotic cut that adds volume even to fine hair. 40

PROTECTIVE SHIELD
There’s nothing like city life. The energy, the people, the endless buzz. Our skin, however, sometimes disagrees: pollution, smoke, and stress take their toll, leaving redness, dryness, or breakouts in their wake. That’s what the founders of Swiss skincare label Moussse noticed. Instead of fleeing urban life, they worked with biochemists and dermatologists to create simple, effective products that fortify the skin barrier. They started with a cleanser and a face cream – vegan, crueltyfree, fragrance-free, and ideal for sensitive skin. More launches are already in the works. moussse.com N°02 / 2025

UP TO THE ALPS
“Become one: with origin, with nature, with yourself.” That’s the promise of eriro Alpine Hide in the Austrian Alps – and we believe it. This boutique hideaway is designed to restore our lost connection with nature in an instant.

Nine suites built of stone and natural wood set the tone, stripped of televisions for a reason. You don’t need one in a place like this. Instead: a record player, the wild outdoors framed by your window, and wool socks for ultimate comfort.
Guests can roam the mountains if they wish – but spending the day drifting between the three pools in the spa area feels like an equally wise decision. eriro Alpine Hide, Ehrwalder Alm 4, 6632 Ehrwald, Austria, eriro.at

ART & CRISIS
Turning crisis into art: that’s what photographer Khashayar Javanmardi does. His images are raw and real – yet strikingly beautiful. But aesthetics aren’t the only goal. For the past ten years, he has N°02 / 2025
documented the worsening conditions along the Southern coast of the Caspian Sea, bordering Iran. Despite the name, the Caspian isn’t actually a sea but the largest lake in the
world. Home to a fragile and unique ecosystem, it’s increasingly under threat from climate change, pollution, and mismanage-ment. FOAM in Amsterdam shows his work through
the end of November. Khashayar Javanmardi – The Caspian ‘Lake’, through November 30, 2025, FOAM, Keizersgracht 609, 1017 DS Amsterdam, Netherlands, foam.org 45

“Don’t take it personally” might be decent advice if a stranger calls you a baby goblin on the street. But in fashion, the opposite applies: We take everything very personally. That’s why we put our own stamp on every outfit. Next season, that comes through bold accessories (brooches! bags!) or through the following character-driven looks that will crank up your entrance.
