First-Year Students Live on Campus
BARNYARD MANOR
First-Years and Sophomores
First-year students live in traditional residence halls on The Quad, just steps from classrooms and friends in neighboring buildings. Double, triple, and quad rooms as well as common areas, kitchens, laundry facilities, and comfortable spaces for studying and socializing are in each hall. The Quad also serves as a popular gathering place for relaxing, playing frisbee, and spending time with friends. First-year students may also choose to join a Living and Learning Community, connecting with peers who share similar academic interests and goals.
Sophomores live in either traditional residence halls on The Quad or in suitestyle housing with private bathrooms in The Village. These residences offer shared community spaces, including lounges, communal kitchens, and laundry facilities. Sophomores may also apply to the Ignatian Residential College, where peers and mentors guide students in exploring questions of identity, community, and purpose through retreats, shared meals, courses, and service.
Upperclassmen and Graduate Students
As an upperclassman, your housing options expand to include apartment-style living with full kitchens and the option to choose a customized meal plan. Barnyard Manor townhouses house juniors and seniors in single bedrooms and feature full amenities including kitchens, living areas, and private laundry. Many seniors also choose to live off campus along the Connecticut shoreline.
Graduate students continuing their studies at Fairfield may take advantage of University-sponsored housing in the town of Fairfield.

JOHN CHARLES MEDITZ COLLEGE OF ARTS & SCIENCES
A sports media and communication student at Fairfield, Andrew Jamieson ’26 turned his passion into professional experience as a Sports Illustrated contributing writer. Active on campus, he joined WVOF Sports, co-founded a podcast, launched “Stags in the Studio,” and covered MAAC Championships and Fairfield Women’s Basketball during March Madness.
After attending a Dean’s Executive Forum, Ainsley Corriveau ’25 turned the experience into a full-time position at Bose. A marketing and management graduate with an entrepreneurship minor, she now works in influencer and partner marketing, collaborating with high-profile figures and gaining hands-on experience at a leading global audio company.

Elia Haghbin ’26 and Lauren Von Hassel ’26 earned first place at the 2026 Lockheed Martin Ethics in Engineering Competition, becoming the first Fairfield team to capture the national title. Competing against students from 72 universities, they navigated a complex AI governance crisis, demonstrating exceptional ethical reasoning, adaptability, and poise under pressure while addressing the challenges of a highstakes, real-world scenario.

Grace Garrigan ’27 has aspired to teach since childhood. Now a curriculum and instruction major, she gains hands-on experience as an elementary school substitute teacher, working with students across grade levels. From managing classrooms to connecting with young learners, Garrigan continues to affirm her calling to make a meaningful impact.
Nine nursing students from the Class of 2026 presented capstone research at the National Student Nurses’ Association Convention in Houston, Texas. Topics ranged from canine therapy to neonatal care. Guided by faculty, students refined research skills, connected with peers, and gained confidence, embodying the strength and distinctiveness of Fairfield’s nursing program.

An interview is one of the best ways for an applicant to stand out during the admission process. While optional, it is a great way to demonstrate your interest and help us get to know you better as an applicant. Interviews are conducted by a member of the Admission team and can take place virtually or in person.
