2026 CALENDAR

![]()

Welcome to Your Fairfield City Calendar for 2026. This is your guide to all the amazing events and activities we have across our City, for everyone to enjoy.
As we embark on a new year, Council continues to be mindful of cost of living pressures.
A strong part of our focus in 2026 once again will be to make sure that we keep our rates as low as possible while providing affordable services that everyone can enjoy – because ultimately that is what community is all about.
Some of your favourite events will be back for 2026, like Cabramatta Lunar New Year, Bring it on! Youth festival, Cabramatta Moon Festival, and Illuminate New Year’s Eve, as well as hundreds of smaller events across the City in our libraries, Fairfield City Museum and Gallery and across our city centres. I encourage you to join in the fun.
Our events and activities reflect the heart of our community –celebrating diversity, fostering local pride, and strengthening the connections that make Fairfield City a special place to live. They also support our economy by attracting visitors from Sydney and beyond.
We’re bringing new energy to Canley Vale and Canley Heights with The Canleys Special Entertainment Precincts, transforming these centres into vibrant destinations for culture, cuisine and community connection. These precincts support extended trading hours, live music and latenight dining, creating a safe and thriving night-time economy.
We’re also investing in our future with two major projects redefining how we gather, play and celebrate. The new Fairfield Showground Community and Events Centre funded by Council and the NSW Government will become a hub for exhibitions, performances, sports and cultural events. Meanwhile, Brenan Park promises adventurous play for all ages and abilities funded by Council and a NSW Government grant.
We are proud of the fact that we continue to charge some of the lowest rates in Sydney – and the biggest red bin – while continuing to deliver quality events, programs and infrastructure that makes Fairfield City such a great place to live, work and play.
Stay connected and up to date with everything going on in this great City by following us on Facebook and Instagram @fairfieldcity.

Fairfield City Council is giving Canley Vale and Canley Heights a nightlife makeover with the launch of two new Special Entertainment Precincts (SEPs) – otherwise known as The Canleys.
These precincts are part of a 12-month trial that lets local venues stay open until late, host live entertainment and offer outdoor dining until 11pm. It’s a big win for local businesses, performers, and anyone who loves a good night out.

The SEPs are backed by a sound management plan that keeps things respectful for nearby residents while still encouraging a vibrant atmosphere. Think of it as a smarter, more flexible way to support live music, food culture, and community spirit.
With support from the NSW Government and a clear plan from Council, The Canleys are set to become Western Sydney’s go-to spots for late-night fun.
Head to the Discover Fairfield website for more information.

Exciting plans are underway for a new destination playground at Brenan Park, which will see the popular sports field provide endless opportunities for adventurous play and imaginative exploration.
The playground, jointly funded and built by Fairfield City Council and the NSW Government’s Western Sydney Infrastructure Grants Program, will appeal to all ages and abilities featuring a climbing tower, water play, trampolines, spinners, and more. Accessibility will be a key focus, with plans to include inclusive play equipment, ensuring every child can enjoy the space.

Design work continues for the new Fairfield Showground Community and Events Centre, funded by Fairfield City Council and the NSW Government’s Western Sydney Infrastructure Grants Program.
The state-of-the-art facility is set to become a hub for locals and visitors, providing a versatile space for exhibitions, performances, community and sporting events, cultural activities, and social gatherings.
Features include a range of modern amenities, including an exhibition hall and large stage, multipurpose indoor sport courts, large foyer, and an open-air courtyard and covered forecourt for smaller events.
Once completed, the new development will provide a muchneeded space for connection, celebration, performance and creativity in Fairfield City. Construction is anticipated to commence next year.
