FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS: Can I keep my current telephone number? Yes! We do porting and will assist with transferring your current Telkom phone number to our network. There will be no change for you. Can I use my current telephone? No, but don’t worry. As a Faircape village resident, you get a free-to-use phone to use. You also have the option of upgrading it to a cordless phone if you wish (additional R1800). What is VoIP and why should I switch? VoIP stands for Voice over Internet Protocol, which means that, unlike a traditional Telkom telephone line, you are communicating with someone over the internet, and not over copper telephone lines.
