LetterfromtheTeam

As we look back on another year at FairBuilding Network, we are proud to reflect on the partnerships and initiatives that have advanced our mission of connecting construction suppliers and experts with nonprofit projects for underserved communities. Our commitment to bridging this gap has enabled us to create sustainable, impactful projects.

This year, we’ve seen amazing progress as more partners have joined us in our mission. Our collaboration has empowered both nonprofit organizations and construction industry partners alike, showcasing the power of community-focused development. Through these partnerships, we have supported 24 projects and NGOs.

We invite you to explore the highlights of the past year within these pages and celebrate the remarkable achievements made possible by our shared vision. Thank you for your continued dedication and support as we build together toward a future where every project, resource, and partnership makes a meaningful difference.

“Let’screatea

We recognize that ending poverty is a monumental challenge that requires the collaboration and support of many organizations. Our vision is to positively impact the lives of 1 million families in the Philippines, either directly or indirectly, by improving their living conditions.

OurWork

Drawing on the strength of central position in the construction market, we bring together the construction industry and the not-for-profit sector and enable the implementation of building projects. FairBuilding has three key areas of work:

• Connecting and reaching out through social media, meetings and events

• Facilitating project exchange in our engagement forums

• Recognizing industry partners at our awards

Our growing network is the basis for empowering collaboration. To date, we have established relationships and signed a Memorandum of Understanding with 106 not-for profit organisation (NGOs). Eight new NGOs have been added to the list in 2024

In addition we collectively work closely with 165 construction industry partners, who committed to support the activities of the FairBuilding Network and their partners. We are proud to have working relationships with the main construction branches which include electrical/lighting, paint/ waterproofing, tile/flooring, general contractors, roofing, doors/ windows, glass/aluminum, wood, prefab wall, general hardware/ finishing products, steel/metal, architecture/engineering and others.

SUCCESSFULSTORIES

TondoCommunityInitiative(TCI) is dedicated to improving the lives of individuals, which includes children and families that partners with local community to deliver services such as education, health, and social program. There are various programs for creating and implementing solutions among different clients that require an appropriate approach. TCI offers services to individuals with legal, medical, financial, and emergency needs.

ImpactandBeneficiaries

The project has positively impacted over 100 families, enabling TCI to allocate more of its resources toward essential medicines and school supplies rather than office furniture. This has allowed the organization to better serve walk-in clients and families seeking assistance.

PositiveChanges

The cabinets have enhanced TCI’s ability to deliver its services by streamlining storage and management processes. With these upgrades, the organization can better focus on its core mission of serving the community’s immediate and long-term needs.

SUCCESSFULSTORIES

St.FrancisIntegratedArtsSchool,Inc. (formerly VSA arts Philippines, Inc.) is a nonprofit, non-government organization that champions inclusive education the school focuses on helping students from kindergarten to grade 10 become confident and independent learners. The school fosters academic and social growth by using small class sizes and proven educational methods while developing critical life skills such as responsibility, time management, and self-reliance.

ImpactandBeneficiaries

Since October 2019, this partnership has positively impacted the St. Francis community, including management, students, and their families. Notable contributions have included: Books donated during the pandemic helped offset parents' bookbuying costs.

Equipment such as Desktop computers, computer chairs, and steel cabinets have supported computer literacy programs and efficient file management for teachers and staff.

PositiveChanges

The establishment of a computer class using donated equipment is a clear example of how these contributions have transformed the school.

SUCCESSFULSTORIES

Vincentian Foundation is a nonprofit organization dedicated to serving vulnerable and marginalized communities. Rooted in the values of compassion and service, it focuses on initiatives such as providing housing, education, and livelihood opportunities to improve the quality of life for individuals and families in need.

“We are currently focused on housing for the groups we support, such as Persons with Disabilities (PWDs) and the elderly without homes. Our main goal is to help them have homes of their own. In Payatas, for example, most residents don’t own their houses and are renting.

The lights and pipes provided by FairBuilding are now part of this building and the housing projects in Payatas. From what I see, they’ve been a big help, and the timing is perfect since the foundation is currently focused on building homes.

I hope that in the long run, the partnership continues, even for simple housing renovations and similar projects.”

“If FairBuilding partners can extend their help for housing our housing project, they won’t just be helping Vincentian Foundation they’ll be making a broader impact. These Industry Partners have already contributed greatly to Vincentian Foundation in this area. But I believe they can provide even more help to those who need it most. As organizations, we are eager to raise funds, and those funds go directly to building homes for these communities. So, I hope they take a closer look at these projects and continue their support.”

SUCCESSFULSTORIES

BahayTuluyan-ProjectRainbow

Project Rainbow transformed a dilapidated house in Balete, Batangas, into Tala Camp and Eco-Retreat, a safe space for children, youth, and families recovering from trauma. The house, donated by a local family, was repaired and upgraded to include accommodation, dining, and meeting facilities for up to 25 people. Since its completion in January 2024, the project has directly benefited 213 children, youth, and adults connected to Bahay Tuluyan.

FairBuildingNetwork’sContribution

FairBuilding Network facilitated the donation of 517 tiles from Mariwasa, significantly reducing project costs and enabling Bahay Tuluyan to allocate more resources to direct services for children and youth.

PositiveImpact

The Tala Camp and Eco-Retreat has hosted numerous events since its opening, including:

2 Children’s Rights Ambassador Training Camps (42 participants)

3 Youth Leadership Camps (57 participants)

6 Retreats for Children and Youth (53 participants)

1 Independent Living Skills Camp (26 participants)

1 Staff Professional Development Session (35 participants)

SUCCESSFULSTORIES

Construction of Multi-Purpose Hall

Location: SOS Children’s Village Manila

This project transformed a small gym into a versatile multi-purpose hall within SOS Children’s Village Manila. The space is designed to host workshops and training sessions, such as sewing, candle-making, and other skill-building programs, aimed at improving the employability of young people. Additionally, the facility will generate funds by hosting events, meetings, and community activities. The project benefits over 100 children, youth, and co-workers in SOS Children’s Village Manila.

FairBuilding Network connected us (SOS Children’s Village Manila) to MPRIME. We worked collaboratively to refine the hall’s design and materials, ensuring it met our needs. The new facility now supports skillbuilding activities for the youth and provides a sustainable source of income through community events.

“Thank you so much for supporting our mission to provide our young people with access to a training facility that empowers them to reach their full potential. This project also creates opportunities to generate funds, which will help sustain our other programs for children.”

allocated to labor, thanks to the support we receive.

FairBuilding and its partners have been a huge help to our projects. Items like cement, paint, wiring, plumbing, and lighting are costly to purchase. That's why these donations have allowed us to save significantly.

FairBuilding has played a vital role in our project because, while our construction project may be considered small, it can be costly to us. Because of your support, we were able to complete our building (a training center in Rizal), which has contributed to our goal of creating an accessible training center and renting out rooms many of the materials used there came from FairBuilding. “

“This means that these are not just simple donations FairBuilding Network and its partners have contributed significantly to FTI’s objective of providing accessible housing and creating an accessibility center where Persons with Disabilities can live and thrive.”

Foundationof Advocacies

FairBuilding Network has always been an advocate of promoting the programs of various non-profit organizations. Over the last ten years, FairBuilding has built strong ties with different organizations sharing the same mission with us: To Overcome Poverty, One Project at a time.

This year, we were thrilled to host the Foundation of Advocacies webinar, where we revisited and highlighted the incredible work of three of our Social Building Developers. During the event, we explored each organization’s mission and the impact of their initiatives, providing insights into how individuals can make a difference through small, yet meaningful acts of support.
