Mercedes C-Class 2014-2018
The fourth generation C-Class was faced with stiff competition from other German brands along with the Jaguar XE, announced early 2014. The W205 also had the job of dispelling the myth that Mercedes was for the mature generation; trying to tease away those that traditionally opted for a 3 Series.
Standard Mercedes Saloons have never matched the competition in outright handling and driver involvement but instead cater for the 90% of the time. Comfort, plush interiors and beautiful styling embodied what the C-Class was all about. Who needs ‘fun’ when you’re cruising up and down the motorway!?
And for those who only used the back seats for their laptop bag, you could opt for the Coupe, which still looks that part compared to new models released this year. Or, if you’re the sort of person that only carries small flat items, the convertible was also an option. With shared components between all but the AMG variants and over 200 thousand sold in the UK alone, stocking these references makes sense!

Mitsubishi 4D56/T Valve Clearance: Essential adjustment between valve and rocker arm.
In older applications that do not have a self-adjusting hydraulic tappet / lifter, such as the 4D56, manual adjustment between the rocker arm and valve is a necessity.
When rebuilding the rocker shaft, please adhere to the manufacturer clearance specifications. Step 1. With engine at operating temperature. Ensure timing marks are aligned correctly by rotating the crank manually.
Step 2. When done correctly you will see that following valves in the raised position:
Cylinder 1: Inlet & Exhaust
Cylinder 2: Inlet
Cylinder 3: Exhaust
Adjust clearances according to these steps: Release tension on the rocker nut in preparation for the gauge. Place the correct feeler gauge between the valve and rocker (size specified by the manufacturer). Begin tightening the screw whilst ensuring that the feeler gauge is met but not pinched. Tighten nut to secure setting. Remove feeler gauge, then reinsert it to check there is a slight interference between the valve and the rocker arm.
Step 3. Manually turn the crankshaft 360 degrees clockwise. Now repeat the method of step 2 whilst focusing on:
Cylinder 4: Inlet & Exhaust
Cylinder 2: Exhaust
Cylinder 3: Intake
Step 4. To ensure the correct clearances are set and maintained, please follow these steps: Replace rocker cover Run the engine for 10 minutes
Remove rocker cover and check tolerances are still correct using the same gauge(s).
If necessary, repeat steps 1 to 3.

City cars such as the Alfa Mito, Fiat 500 and Opel Corsa were compact to suit their environment so needed an equally compact diesel unit to fit their tiny engine bay; the 1.3 D that Fiat had already developed was the obvious candidate.
The first generation of MultiJet engine was produced in huge quantities, fitted over dozens of manufacturers and models. A class leader, it even won the International Engine of the Year.
In 2009, Fiat reworked the first generation with a new injection system that was capable of delivering 8 injections per combustion cycle at a pressure of 1400 bar (20000 PSI). These upgrades boosted power, and made it more efficient than ever, complying with Euro V emissions standard; which resulted in a further increase in application.
The 1.3 JTD will go down as one of the biggest collaborations amongst manufacturers as used by: Alfa Romeo, Chevrolet, Chrysler, Citroen, Fiat, Ford, Opel, Peugeot and Suzuki. Don’t you just love it when a single part fits 25 models?
