BMW 2.0d B47

The 2.0d B47 is BMW’s lasting effort to create a flexible diesel engine to power a large proportion of the Bavarian manufacturers’ models.

More reliable than the N47 it replaced, the 2015> version filled the gap for punchy performance while limiting those trips to the fuel station.

The B47 might be feeling the squeeze from petrol power, hybrids and full-on electric models that are now the norm but millions were fitted across Europe, mainly between 2015 and 2021.

Six power outputs were applied to over 20 models in the BMW / MINI line-up, most of which are well out of the hands of dealerships’ care.
