OUR STORY
The Fagerhult story began in 1945 when our founder, an engineer called Bertil Svensson, created a lamp so that his mother could keep knitting during the long, dark, Nordic winter nights. A simple tale that provided the basis of over 75 years’ worth of lighting developments.
The Scandinavian relationship with light is unique, ranging from almost never-ending darkness to a sun that seldom sets. It’s a culture defined by form and function, design with a purpose but also aesthetics. These cultural characteristics remain at the heart of what we do.
Creating the right lighting solution is both an art and a science. We work with a range of different industry bodies and academic institutions to help progress and further understand the relationships between humans and light. From the biological to the emotional, this level of insight pioneers the development of products, our philosophy and helps us create solutions that facilitate the everyday with a great lit environment.
As the industry and technology have evolved, the Fagerhult Group has increasingly looked outside of Scandinavia, being joined by brands that share the same ethos but bring new approaches and technical expertise.
In the UK, Fagerhult provide lighting solutions from ateljé Lyktan, LTS, WE-EF and LED Linear. By adopting this approach, we can support our customers not only with a simple, single point of contact but with access to a wide range of industry-leading luminaires and control systems.

For us, sustainability is all about balance and farsightedness, whether that be in production, investment, technical innovation or social aspects.
Our own environmental impact is especially important to us and never far from our minds, given that our factory in Fagerhult has both a water protection zone and a nature reserve on its doorstep. This manufacturing site now uses 100% renewable hydroelectric energy to power equipment, and we turn single-use pallets from our suppliers into pellets, which are used to heat the factory.
Our Group Sustainability Promise prioritises five areas linked to the UN Global Goals for Sustainable Development, and in each, we aim for constant improvement and achieve long-term goals. Lighting Ergonomics, Conscious Production, Energy Efficiency, Empowering People and Pure Materials are our five pillars of sustainability. We target these areas where we see the most significant potential for positive impact.
As a lighting manufacturer, our greatest opportunity to make a difference is in reducing the energy consumed by our luminaires when in use. But, as green electricity production grows, the emphasis will shift toward the materials we use as part of the wider construction industry, which accounts for 60% of all waste in the UK.
We are already making strides in the right direction - LED Linear’s Ultima, which uses ground-breaking optical technology to radically reduce the size of the luminaire and cut material use by 94%. And Fagerhult’s Multilume Re:Think, the first recessed luminaire to use a body made from new material to the industry, consisting entirely of Swedish grown, natural organic fibres that are completely recyclable, 100% renewable, and has reduced its climate impact by 81%. At WE-EF, our products originate from an aluminium substrate sourced from 90% authentic refined recycled aluminium. This material is an ‘energy storer’, with only 5% of the original energy input required to recycle at the end of life.
Design and materials initiatives like these and many others across our Group will continually help reduce and mitigate our impact on the wider world.

A modern wireless alternative to traditional wired network lighting control systems. Using the latest technologies, Organic Response (OR) offers features beyond lighting control functionality or energy savings by harnessing the lighting installation as a backbone for smart building services.
With true distributed intelligence and a dense network of sensors, OR simplifies the specification and installation of the whole lighting system. As a result, building owners and occupiers can easily optimise the lighting performance and make informed decisions about how spaces within buildings are used.
Integrated into the luminaire wherever possible, the sensor nodes detect movement and ambient daylight, transmitting and receiving this information from adjacent luminaires as part of a wireless mesh. The proximity communication protocol enables each sensor to understand its position within the space in relation to other sensor nodes, making informed decisions on how much light is required, dependent upon its immediate surroundings.
OR can be programmed to respond to the levels of light in the room and adapt the output accordingly. In addition, the latest version is equipped with colour temperature control, enabling dynamic environments by adjusting the CCT and output levels across the course of a day or specific activities being undertaken.
Rather than requiring specialist commissioning engineers, OR can be configured via an intuitive smartphone app. For example, activate daylight dimming at a push of the button or utilise a selection of pre-configured room and system characteristic settings. Install, learn and adapt as your estates and facilities teams can make simple changes to settings to reflect user preference, layout or room changes.
In areas where it is not possible or necessary to integrate into a luminaire, remote sensors enable you to connect the entire premises to a single control system.
Operating at radio frequencies between 2.4GHz and 2.5GHz, the OR wireless mesh employs co-existence strategies to minimise interference with other building wireless systems, such as WiFi, automatically selecting between 40 different channels across this part of the spectrum. In addition, the Mesh blacklists channels occupied by other systems and automatically switches to a clear channel at a local node to node level and network level.
When presence is detected, each luminaire defines the output level in relation to the proximity of the occupier.
The system can handle signals from multiple sources, maintaining a balanced light level when more than one person is in the space.
CONNECTED LIGHTING FOR SMART BULDINGS
Smart building are fundamentally changing the relationship between owners, occupiers, users and their built environment. Due to their prevalence through the space, luminaires are seen as being the backbone of IoT. OR has a range of features and functionalities making it an ideal conduit to bring data and services together for a truly connected eco-system.
With the latest radio frequency wireless mesh technology integrated inside the sensor node, whole lighting installations can be controlled and monitored from a centralised web-based Portal, including floor plans of the building. Industry-leading data throughput across the mesh enables datadriven services such as space optimisation through to occupancy monitoring with high resolution realtime or historical data. Maintenance, energy and emergency test reports are generated automatically for building facility managers.
In addition to gaining estate wide visibility, the Portal can be used to fine-tune the performance and output of the lighting system remotely. Each group of settings can be assigned a specific personality that allows replication of settings across different groups of luminaires through a few simple clicks.
The low energy mesh network uses Industry Standard encryption. Connection to the cloud is through Amazon AWS IoT and is encrypted using TLS.
All data is secure behind the AWS firewall. Authentication and authorisation is conducted through LinkedIn, with support for fine-grained, rolebased permissions.
The dual-level architecture splits communications between lighting control and data harvesting. The sensors live stream occupancy and light level data to the portal via a Wirepas mesh. Wirepas enables significantly higher data throughput compared to other wireless mesh systems.
All OR installations offer system assimilation via our secure Cloud Application Programming Interface (API). This API enables third parties to access the data held within the Organic Response system, opening up the possibilities for integration with Building Management Systems, Data Analytic platforms or custom developed mobile applications.
CONNECTED SYSTEMS
ORGANIC RESPONSE
Using the secure RESTful API, Organic Response can provide data to 3rd party applications e.g. BMS systems or custom developed mobile applications.
The web-based Portal provides a centralised hub for monitoring energy consumption, measuring occupancy for space planning and automated emergency and maintenance reports
Designed by DSDHA architects and delivered by Great Portland Estates plc (GPE), The Hickman is a seven-storey, 78,000 sq ft, dynamic workspace located in the heart of Whitechapel.
Fagerhult worked closely with GPE to create a lighting scheme complementing the smart building concept and offering users control over their working environment. Responding to the challenge of providing a flexible lighting scheme, Fagerhult developed a custom design product for the project used throughout the building. Now available as a commercial product, Pondero is the perfect luminaire for modern, contemporary office spaces: with a raw and unpolished appearance, it works effortlessly in The Hickman’s industrial backdrop. OR is connected to sensors integrated into the luminaires used throughout The Hickman to allow remote control and monitoring of spaces.
The Hickman is designed to make life easy for all those who work there, with technology embedded throughout the building and a raft of technical features that facilitate simple control of each office floor, allowing users to manage their working environment. The smart workplace app, sesame™, GPE’s award-winning smart workplace app, developed in partnership with SmartSpaces, provides contactless access, access to service and amenity and a smart interface with the building.
Fagerhult’s lighting concept, including the OR system, is fully integrated with SmartSpaces’ platform at cloud level using an API (Application Programming Interface) and locally using a mobile SDK (Software Development Kit).
The cloud API allows access to building-wide information such as real-time or historical occupancy data collected from the dense network of sensor nodes. Data collected can then be used by the SmartSpaces platform to optimise the energy usage of building services and provide occupiers with insights into their space utilisations.
The mobile SDK enables users of the sesame app to take local control of individuals or groups of luminaires. By connecting directly to the sensor nodes using Bluetooth, the luminaires move seamlessly and with minimal delay as users select their preferred lighting level. Moreover, the Organic Response system is ideal for occupiers who may want to reconfigure their working spaces and landlords who want to offer flexible spaces.
Allowing landlords and occupiers control over their workspace environment, the app also works as a facilities management tool enabling users to track faults, manage spaces remotely and provide a digital network for people to communicate. Moreover, data gathered through the app provides an added value for occupiers who can review how they work and behavioural patterns and use the data to inform plans for co-working spaces.
The Hickman is the first building globally to achieve the prestigious SmartScore ‘Platinum’ rating. SmartScore identifies best in class smart buildings that deliver an exceptional user experience, drive cost efficiency, meet high standards of sustainability and are fully future-proof.
INTEGRATIONS
The connected building eco-system provides owners and tenants with ever-increasing insights into operations and occupancy. Connecting smart lighting sensors to other services, analytic platforms and interfaces, the dense flow of information permits automated processes and adds value to the space.
The open nature of the OR system, combined with central and localised expertise, has enabled the development of bespoke solutions and integrations created to elevate the user experience.
In addition to BACnet and Application Programming Interface, Organic Response is now compatible with the Niagra Framework for integration with BMS systems. Via connection to a Jace, access all the rich data and intelligence harvested from the OR system to connect with different services, to create a smart building ecosystem with minimal complexity.
The Dewey Space solution is a customisable way of viewing the occupancy data generated by the OR lighting system. Helping to promote spatial and navigational efficiencies by channelling footfall towards less populated areas within the building.
Live information about presence detection from the dense network of sensor nodes can be viewed in different ways. A dashboard overview of average occupancy on each floor of a building or more detailed graphical representations on floorplans.
When combined with digital signage, it can give building users valuable insight into which areas are busy or not. It can also increase productivity by enabling them to find suitable areas to work more quickly.
Integration between OR and the Nimway smartoffice solution from Sony Network Communications Europe makes office life smoother and simpler for employees. Using the Nimway mobile app, they can navigate the office, book rooms and locate colleagues in the building.
Together, these technologies combine the advantages of smart lighting with smart indoor positioning. The result is seamless connectivity that enables more efficient and dynamic working methods.
Employees benefit from finding colleagues easily – one of the main challenges of activity-based working – and from responsive lighting whenever and wherever needed. Business owners get a better overview of and control over people flows in larger buildings and sustainability and cost savings in lower energy consumption and reduced need for hardware.
CREATE YOUR OWN LIGHT
LED evolution and the resulting impact on manufacturing processes have opened up new opportunities to tailor lighting solutions to specific applications. Customisation is becoming increasingly prominent, from practical requirements and consolidation of services to creating one-off showpieces.
Across our Fagerhult brand portfolio, we have a number of departments dedicated to creating nonstandard luminaires. Within the UK, over 50% of all the luminaires we supply are, in some way, adapted for a specific purpose.
By remaining diode independent but keeping the production of the LED boards in-house, we can continuously evaluate the market for the best option while retaining the capability to adjust the placement and shape of the LED boards for both standard and custom requirements. Our manufacturing facilities are 3rd party validated to conduct our testing and accreditation. Both elements are essential to produce adapted fittings with viable price points and delivery schedules.
With many of the luminaires we produce today, the catalogue range is essentially just the base possibilities. Fagerhult Configure is an easy way of changing the parameters of a fitting within a defined tolerance. Simply select the Fagerhult Configure option on the product page, and you can make changes download a specific datasheet and LDT file.
Define the exact output needed to achieve the right lit effect, adjust the direct/ indirect components, create profiles for critical lengths, colour match to other building elements, change the optics, create exact ceiling tile replacements with integrated services. From time-saving installation to the architectural design concept, whatever the motivation, it has never been easier to produce project-specific solutions with our adaption service.
The Studio is the home of bespoke. A department that combines resourceful problem solving with expert lighting and a passionate enthusiasm for making things. The Studio develops everything from prototypes which will never be more than just a prototype to luminaires for offices, hotels, churches and the odd private home. Interior or exterior in small or large numbers. From die-cutting, welding and joining to cutting, grinding and all types of forge work, unleash your creative vision with confidence we have the skills to help bring it to life.
ADAPTIONS
Using Notor 65 to create a lighting solution that was both dynamic and sympathetic to the building’s historical context. Created in exact made-to-measure lengths, the output was adapted to provide a higher illuminance on the direct component with the indirect element tuned to avoid hotspots of light from luminaries mounted close to the soffit.
A custom created panel manufactured as a quick and easy to install tile replacement for a specific SAS ceiling type. To facilitate a cleaner ceiling line, the solution integrated air-handling and the output from the luminaire was preprogrammed to deliver the exact light level required, avoiding any energy waste.
ADAPTIONS
A track-mounted fixture adapted with a triple-layered optic merging micro prism with opal and clear diffuser to carefully control the output and create an office compatible lit environment. A custom-created cable trunking profile houses sprinkler systems, lighting, power cables and fire alarm cables in a single solution.
The hotel’s interior design has been created together with architects and nine different designers, inspired by traditional Nordic design. A custom-developed luminaire that plays with contrast, matt and gloss finishes, wood and chromed metal work together to create a pendant that is both simple and expressive at the same time.
THE STUDIO
Part of 80 completely new product designs, two luminaires have been custom created for the National Museum in Stockholm. Mela, designed by Matti Klenell, was inspired by the shape of an apple, where the stem meets the fruit. Satellite, designed by TAF Studio, has a form that reflects the space satellites circulating the Earth.
Faulkner Browns Architects wanted to create a luminaire that would act as a focal point for the circular hub of the building. The installation consists of 82 circular drums measuring 6.5 m in diameter. Housing speakers, spot and general light, the Tunable White functionality allows the light to redefine the entire feel of the space.
THE STUDIO
Light Bureau designed these completely bespoke pole-top luminaires and created them in The Studio to illuminate an iconic park in Stockholm. Aligned with the transition to darkness in the evenings, the lower light source, with a 2200k CCT, lights up before the upper general light comes on, slowly achieving full brightness over a 30min period.
Developed by Form Us With Love as part of the annual Landskrona festival, adapted Cob pendants were installed in clusters of 20 or 40 across the park. Controlled via a Seneco smart lighting system, both the energy and occupancy levels are monitored via a cloud-based interface, acting as a pilot for future public realm lighting strategies.
While many of the traditional metrics of LED quality are still relevant, several new technologies and production techniques have emerged that can enhance operational performance, durability and the overall lit experience.
The colour characteristics of individual LEDs of the same type can vary significantly. To ensure consistency, we select LEDs from pre-sorted batches or bins. The degree of deviation from a LEDs’ intended colour can be defined by a MacAdam ellipse based SDCM system that ranks colour consistency on a scale from 0 to 10. For indoor applications, a SDCM rating of between 2-3 is recommended; for exterior applications, above 5 would be OK.
CRI is a quantitate scale, ranging from 0-100, that measures the ability of a light source to render 8 predefined colour samples. Traditionally, the higher the CRI, the less efficient and more costly the luminaire becomes; however, as the technology evolves, this is less prevalent. While CRI 80 is standard in many interior luminaires, the increasing adoption of the WELL standard is seeing more requirements for CRI 90 in workplaces.
The LED module contains a mixture of diodes providing warm or cold light. We can get colour temperatures between 2700-6500 Kelvin out of a single luminaire by mixing these lights. In addition, systems can be pre-programmed to vary both the CCT and the intensity of the light over the course of a day, bringing an extra element of dynamism into the interior and exterior spaces.
The lifetime of an LED module is shown using a system of L and B values combined with a calculated time. L80 B10 70000 would indicate that, after 70,000 hours of operation, the lumen output from the luminaire would be 80% of the initial value and that on average 10% of the luminaires are expected not to meet the lumen value. The L value would be used to help calculate a maintenance factor for use in lighting calculations.
Maintenance factors are used in lighting calculations to take account of the reduction in light output due to dirt. Lower maintenance factors mean more fittings are used, with higher initial illuminance levels and increased energy consumption. The shift to LEDs can fundamentally improve a luminaire’s maintenance behaviour, allowing higher maintenance factors to be used with reductions in luminaire quantities and excess illuminance.
LED luminaires may lose 20-30% of their light output over 50,000 hours and, when this is taken into account in the initial lighting calculation, can result in substantial overlighting. CLO electronic drivers automatically increase the power to the LEDs over time to maintain constant light output. As a result, the maintenance factors used in lighting calculations can be higher, initial quantities of fittings lower, and excess energy used to over-light eliminated.
TECHNICAL TERMS
PTLO is a technique where LED luminaire light outputs are factory set to the precise requirements of a project, no more, no less. When combined with constant light output technology, the lighting scheme will never deliver more light than needed nor consume a single watt more than necessary.
The UGR is an internationally accepted method used to calculate an index of discomfort glare, which is ranked on a scale running from 13 to 28, where the higher the glare index, the higher the level of glare. Discomfort glare depends on several factors; the luminance and the size of the glare source, the position of the glare source in relation to the line of sight and the background luminance against which the glare source is viewed.
LED lighting has brought many benefits but also some challenges, including the emergence of multiple shadows. The change to numerous output points, where the diodes themselves create a shadow in the reflector or remain exposed, create multiple shadows on the task area making standard tasks like writing or drawing very distracting and uncomfortable to the eye.
The Beta Opti Nano optic combines lenses and a collimator, channelling light into the louvre, so each louvre cell receives light from seven LEDs, eliminating multiple shadows. The highest efficiency can be created using angled, closed top louvre cross-blades, combined with contoured side profiles, creating a
wide batwing light distribution limited to <1500 cd/ m2 at all relevant angles.
The combination of 19th century optics with 21st century light sources might seem surprising, but the brilliantly designed Fresnel lens is as relevant today as when it was first conceived. In the Pleiad G4 downlights the Fresnel lens directs light to almost bypass the reflector system completely, with minimal loss in efficiency.
In the LED era, optical systems are often complex combinations of mixing chambers, reflectors and lenses. But where size matters, nano-ray optics are invaluable. The Ultima product is only 12.5mm thick, made possible by optics that eliminate the need for conventional reflectors and lenses and shrink the whole system into a super-thin film of incredible, repeatable precision.
Evidence shows that night-time artificial light can have negative effects on plants and creatures, with short-wavelength, blue light cited as having a particularly negative impact. The International Dark-Sky Association recommends the adoption of warmer, 2200k colour temperature sources to help limit blue light. In support of this important initiative, 2200k LEDs are available to specify for the vast majority of WE-EF luminaires.
Ingress Protection Rating: IP testing helps establish how well a luminaire is sealed. An IP67 luminaire, for example, is considered dust-tight and able to be temporarily immersed in water. An IP66 luminaire, in contrast, would be dust-tight and able to withstand a powerful jet of water from any direction. It might be expected that an IP67 luminaire would also, by default, be IP66, but we don’t take that for granted because the tests are entirely different.
Reflection Free Contour technology: the conventional flat glass exterior cover is replaced by a UV stabilised panel with a contoured surface to minimise the loss of light that normally occurs due to internal reflection. As a result, LOR improvements of 5% are realised, with as much as 30% improvements in light output at certain critical angles, allowing wider spacing of luminaires..
One LED Concept: conventional area lighting luminaires create their light distribution using individual LEDs with various beam orientations and angles in a “multiple spot” lighting technique. WE-EF use a “multi-layer” principle where each LED illuminates the area equally, with each layer creating a uniform end result. The advantage is obvious: the failure of any individual LED reduces the light level, but the uniformity is unaffected.
RGBW/RGBA light sources make colourful lighting effects by allowing selective mixing of four different light colour channels.
The total luminaire power is distributed evenly across all four channels. However, when only three channels are used, Colour Boost technology works differently, distributing 100% of the electrical power to the three active channels so that each channel uses 33%.
Outdoor luminaires can be exposed to rapid, extreme or recurring changes in ambient conditions causing seals to fail. Our specially designed breather gland solves the problem. The gland allows air and gases to pass freely through the luminaire housing, rapidly and effectively equalising pressure, so liquid and any other contaminants are blocked, but moisture vapour passes freely through.
Gaskets are precision engineered and critical parts of any sealed luminaire housing to ensure longevity and safety, but gaskets can be damaged by over-zealous tightening of fixings and fasteners. Our controlled compression gasket designs ensure that the gasket can only be compressed to its optimum designed level and no more for consistent performance over time.
Any luminaire used in arduous indoor or outdoor environments is prone to corrosion, especially when screw fixings connect parts. PCS hardware solves the problem – a tough, impregnated polymer coat is applied to fixings, reducing friction during tightening and creating a non-metallic barrier between metals, eliminating the risk of galvanic corrosion or cold welding.

The perfect solution for modern interiors, especially where balanced combinations of direct and indirect light are desired. Today’s pendant luminaires have shrunk in physical size but expanded in capability.
Often used for task-oriented, focussed lighting, pendant solutions have the potential to drive efficiency and light quality up. Precisely controlling light from high output LEDs in luminaires with minimal dimensions requires a number of specific techniques to merge visual comfort and energy regulation.
Beta Opti, with side and cross blades and an integral optical film, strictly controls glare with hardly any loss in efficiency. In addition, the perfect millimetre positioning of individual LEDs within the optic helps create the most efficient light output and eliminates multiple shadows in the distributed light. Honeycomb louvres provide a completely different visual expression with exceptional UGR values. Despite producing 35% less light by eliminating light spill, the lux values on the task area are virtually the same. Large surfaces can be uniformly illuminated without glare by combining high-quality materials and side-emitting LEDs.

A reimagining of a classic suspended luminaire first created in 1969, adapted for LED in the 2010’s and now redesigned using innovative materials to minimise its carbon impact. Superdupertube is the latest collaboration between Atelje Lyktan and Snøhetta.
Superduper tube is a perfect balance between light comfort, aesthetical values and a conscious material choice. The main component in this luminaire is extruded or injection moulded and made by a hemp fibre reinforced bio composite whose resins are starch-based aliphatic polyesters, sourced from responsibly-grown sugarcane and beetroot. All the main ingredients comes from agricultural products.
The unique louvre of superdupertube has been constructed of the same materials as the housing but offers a completely new visual expression while creating exceptional light treatment for an enhanced lit experience.
The strong hemp fibre can grow on poor soils, it needs only a small amount of water, no fertilisers and it absorbs more CO2 as it grows making it a carbon negative crop. With this material we do not need any surface treatment.
Superdupertube reduces fossil material dependence and is industrially compostable, challenging office lamp norms and promoting sustainable, innovative materials and production technologies.

MARS NANOModular and multi-functional, systems help lighting become an integral part of any interior. Each system is intended to be a precision lighting instrument, helping deliver the correct aesthetics and technical aspects of light for any given application.
As well as offering versatility in arrangement and pattern, systems are also available in multiple configurations – ceiling, recessed, surface or suspended – creating visual ceilings or even wall surfaces, using additional components like acoustic tiles or stretch fabrics.
In all cases, systems are engineered with meticulous attention to detail and are squarely aimed at ultimate flexibility and ease of installation. Each light component can also be equipped as standard with technical interfaces giving smart phone control of the entire lighting system in whole or in part, allowing easy set-up and choreography of the lit environment.
Creativity without complexity. Vault is the creation of East London Design agency Fourmation. A modular, multi-functional lighting system that empowers designers to create a spatial concept that can be tailored to suit any environment. Made up of only a few components that can be linked together to form an array of configurations, Vault provides limitless possibilities for creating different lighting patterns and feature ceiling grids.
Utilising a simple click-in technique, the light bars can connect horizontally from each side of the suspension blocks. Available in three sizes, the light bars can be positioned to supply light either up and down or side to side.
Vault is available in both suspended and wall-mounted variations, both sharing the same design philosophy. Rather than being static, using the same fixing points but rearranging the configuration and direction of the light bars, it is easy to change the dynamic of the installation.
Both variations can be supplemented by an acoustic panel developed for large, noisy environments such as open-plan offices, restaurants and shopping centres or spaces where a fully absorbent ceiling cannot be used. Flexible grid formations can be installed directly above work areas or other zones where good acoustics and high-quality lighting are essential for communication, concentration or rest. With a sound absorption Class A rating, the high-density wool is fully recyclable, while the back of the panel is covered with glass tissue.

With a stylish, stripped-down design language, Lichtkanal accentuates the form of the architecture. Lichtkanal is always constructed to order, offering all the flexibility of a custom solution within a standard assortment.
The aluminium profile forms the base of the system, constructed in made-tomeasure lengths, surface mounted, suspended or recessed into walls and ceilings. Available in 4 different sizes, the recessed profile can be supplied with or without a trim for installation in plasterboard or concrete surfaces.
The profiles are supplemented by a choice of lighting inserts with a non-reflecting matt reflector for the highest luminous efficiency and a curved acrylic glass diffuser for uniform light distribution in long runs or at corners.
The lit experience is shaped by the optic. While the prismatic acrylic glass provides a focused, glare-free light, the opal cover delivers a uniform illumination. The nanoOptix micro-structured foil transfers the functions of an optical lens to a wafer-thin foil only 0.6 mm thick while maintaining specific narrow or batwing beam characteristics. Produced in lengths up to 150m, there is no impact from visible edges when it comes to longer light lines.

Ultima represents a ground-breaking step toward an enhanced quality of life through lighting while conserving the scarce resources of our environment. Its minimal design measuring just 10 x 13 mm, blends into any building structure and disappear from sight while also reducing the consumption of raw materials.
The NanoRay 2.0 optics feature more than 220,000 Nano lenses in each LED cell. The lens details, smaller than 1ųm, accurately guide each light beam and ensure proper mixing of all wavelengths. This approach enables sharp lighting distributions and homogeneous colour over the whole lighting scene.
Despite its extremely slim design, it achieves lumen outputs from 300 lm/m reaching up to 2,000 lm/m. Making it suitable for general, task and accent lighting. An elegant louvre ensures excellent glare control (UGR < 13), making Ultima not only ideal for general, task and accent lighting applications but also hides the luminaire from sight.
The recessed trimless track version enables a simple planning and seamless installation in drywall construction. Thanks to its minimal installation depth of 11.2 mm, it does not require structural planning or modification of the ceiling support structure; a simple cut-out in the 12.5 mm thick plasterboard will suffice. Mounted as trimless, the light line disappears into the ceiling with 13 mm width.

INDEX
Recessed luminaires are a staple in areas with limited ceiling heights, where the concepts demand clean ceiling lines or as part of a layered solution, bringing light into the volume of the space.
Our recessed solutions use the latest LED and electronic driver technology and control the output of LED sources using sophisticated optical components to give the best possible mix of light distribution and efficiency. Beyond the standard assortment, adaptions to luminaires to projectspecific requirements are purpose-designed and built to seamlessly integrate into any suspended ceiling system. Whether it be incorporating airhandling functionality or the perfect aesthetic incorporation of a shadow gap, trim edge detail or perforation line.
For glare critical workplace applications, luminaires using NanoRay beam shaping can be specified to achieve glare (UGR) levels of 13 or less in practice for the highest ergonomic visual quality.
Multilume Re:Think is the result of an in-depth analysis of the different phases of a luminaire lifecycle and how much of the CO2 emissions each stage accounts for. Usage accounts for the largest energy consumption with the materials used for the manufacturing of a luminaire identified as the second largest impact on the carbon footprint.
Equipped with the latest energy reduction technologies, Re:Think was designed to reduce the consumption of virgin or fossil materials used in the luminaire housing and packaging. Using an innovative Solid Board material, it is possible to reduce the climate impact from the luminaire body by 81% when compared to a traditional steel construction.
Solid Board is produced with paper in several layers (PE laminate or paper with PE coating) to protect the product from moisture and meet the challenges associated with transport and storage. It is made from 100% renewable materials with 78% coming from recycled materials in the first instance.
The weight of the fitting is reduced by 32% with shipping volumes also decreasing by 30%. No plastic parts or non-recyclable packaging, only recyclable corrugated cardboard remains after installation. The instruction manual is printed directly on the back of the luminaire, so that it is always available for any future reference.
More than 90% of the luminaire can be recycled into new materials and the rest can be recycled into energy, i.e. district heating for households. The luminaire body itself, made of Swedish natural fibre and recycled materials, can be recycled to 100%.

Compact but packing a significant punch, downlights are the go-to solution for many applications and are increasingly finding their way into modern workplaces, where combined with task lighting, flexibility and control are key.
In all applications, optical designs must address the challenge of high light outputs from small apertures, with a resultant risk of glare. As a result, lens and reflector technologies have had to keep pace with increasing light output and reducing source sizes.
Still, the latest iterations have gone back to the future by employing 1900’s lighthouse technology which has proven perfect in providing the necessary light control. A spin-off advantage of such precise control is the opportunity to use reflectors of any finish, including black, with minimal disturbance to system efficiency.
Heat is the enemy of LED sources, and we go to great lengths to optimise the thermal performance of our luminaires. In the case of the Pleiad G4, painstaking attention to design and precision engineering of the cooling body minimises the LED temperature to maximise efficiency and longevity.
FAGERHULT
Pleiad G4 is the definitive downlight collection, encompassing one square, two wallwashers, two surfaces mounted and four recessed variations in different diameters. The combination of the luminaire models, comprehensive range of lumen packages, distribution angles and reflector finishes makes it possible to plan functional, comfortable and energy-efficient lighting environments for any situation.
The reflectors in matt, black or white, make it easy to vary the room’s appearance and mood. A custom-developed Fresnel lens facilitates efficient and precise control of the light, which gradually fades out against the reflector, with 90 per cent of the light distribution emanating from the lens. By adopting this approach, you can add colour to the reflective surface without absorbing the light, significantly increasing efficiency compared to traditional techniques. This, combined with a redesigned cooling body that lowers the luminaire’s temperature, ensures the optimal lit experience with the least amount of energy from the moment it’s installed.
A wide range of accessories extends the range even further. Opal, clear or micro prismatic optics for IP20, 54 or 64 cover plates in a black, white or grey finish. Additionally, there is an attachment for trimless installation.

Positioned slap bang in your personal space, the design of task lights is uniquely challenging. Closer to being pieces of art or sculpture than the majority of other fittings, they are required to be rather flexible in light pattern, aim and precise positioning.
Highly tactile materials like aluminium, wood and leather are used extensively as befits designoriented, artistic pieces, and surface finishes are carefully chosen to heighten still further the genuine attributes of solidity and quality.
Despite the award-winning aesthetic designs, task lights are not simply artistic pieces; they are precision lighting instruments. In being mounted so close to the surfaces where illumination is needed, they are also required to be proficient in technical performance and lighting quality terms.
Our task lights incorporate the very best LED light sources, which are well managed in terms of heat, control electronics and, of course, safety. Light distributions are often flexible and adjustable but engineered to provide high levels of technical lighting performance in terms of efficiency, uniformity of task illuminance and glare control.

Whether inspired by the form of an opened cube, objects that are noted as colossal or unwieldy, or swirls of light in a natural sky, decorative products give unsurpassed freedom of expression.
Materials like spun or die-cast aluminium handblown glass. These luminaires will complement any interior design with myriad RAL colours and surface finish options, from brushed copper to textured enamel.
But high design is not just surface deep. Every product uses the latest LED technology for maximum efficiency and reliability, high-level colour rendering, and initial and ongoing colour consistency. Electronic drivers allow adjustability depending on model for dim level and colour temperature, accessible via simple wall controls or smart apps. Our decorative luminaires can give the perfect finishing touch for any installation and be seamlessly integrated into the technical infrastructure of any built environment.
A minimal, spherical form with a spotlight function, Ogle works as well in isolation or as part of a clustered installation, creating a decorative element without overexpression.
Aligned with the miniaturising LED possibilities, both the standard and mini versions are available with the same lumen package, with the latter also equipped with a high output option. The die-cast aluminium housing is 360° adjustable and can be incrementally tilted up to 90° for a precise direction of the light.
Ogle can be supplied with either a GU10 or COB lighting solution and, in addition to the pendant, is available in complementary track and floor mounted designs.
Ogle mini has a diameter of just 90mm. Beyond the pendant, the range extends to track, floor, wall, and desk mounted variations. To help bring a splash of colour to the interior, Ogle mini can be supplied in 8 different finishes.

Created by Olle Lundberg, the Riff series is a collection of luminaires that share the same light engine supplemented with a number of shades, which can be easily swapped to create multiple expressions with the same base luminaire.
In combination with the simplistic suspension system in die-cast metal and the spherical diffuser, the light engine provides the basic platform for the luminaire. The visual impression focuses on the details — the smooth transition between the mouth-blown opal glass shade and the die-cast metal edge. The die-cast metal is lacquered in black or white with diffusing glare shield. Available in three different sizes and two-colour finishes, Riff’s comfortable direct light adds a contemporary style to reception desks, restaurants and breakout spaces.
With its distinctive grid consisting of 16 parts in 8 different styles, Paragon utilises the medium Riff light engine, but with the opal acrylic glare cover adapted to clear acrylic. This combination enables the light output to increase without causing glare.
The series is currently available as pendant, table, ceiling and wall versions, all with a distinctive Scandinavian design flair and complementing minimalistic colour palette.

EXTERIOR
Whether functional or decorative, designed to foster civic pride or feelings of security, for amenity or sheer delight, lighting for outdoor environments offers much but also has many challenges.
With an emphasis on benefits to society, light pollution, light trespass, cradle to cradle energy use, and effects on wildlife, exterior lighting is subject to significant scrutiny to ensure that effective lighting is delivered with minimal extraneous impacts.
Against this background, luminaires that are constructed from recycled and recyclable material, whose engineering designs promote durability and longevity, and whose optics have the necessary precision to deliver light only where required are paramount.
We focus heavily on the design of our optical systems, which employ in house lenses and reflectors specifically designed for the application. And our mechanical fixings are treated with permanent, purpose-designed polymer coatings to eliminate electrolytic corrosion or cold welding, ensuring easy maintenance year after year, whatever the environment.

Our wide range of recessed and surface wall luminaires offer options to cover most conceivable building surrounding lighting demands. Whether you need technical illumination of a thoroughfare, dramatic feature façade lighting, or a combination of the two, the luminaires combine timeless design with precision engineering.
Where the most unobtrusive result is required, our wall recessed luminaires are the perfect solution for focussed highlighting of footpaths, stairways and similar, and any relevant surface within the built environment. The luminaire lit surface can be deliberately visible to provide unambiguous guidance, or the source output can be almost entirely shielded, emphasising the surfaces being lit.
Whether recessed or surface mounted, WE-EF wall luminaires offer precision optics with a wide variation of output options to put light only where needed, optimising surface illuminance whilst minimising energy use and glare.

RECESSED AND SURFACE
Circular or linear, fixed or adjustable, dynamic colours or Tuneable white, inground luminaires are a versatile way of providing orientation or tracing contours to elevate the architecture with light.
The EFC100 series inground marker lights are ideal tools for floor-grazing applications. Optics within the shallow above-ground hood emit a tightly controlled horizontal beam to reveal the material, colour, and texture of a pavement, landscape, or similar setting.
Fixed optic uplights, in close vicinity to the vertical target surfaces, are used as ‘wall grazers’. The intentional ‘scalloping’ effects just above ground level, combined with the fading luminance towards the top, enhance the building’s polygon design. With the objective of using wallwashing to achieve the highest possible uniformity on a horizontal level, some gradual fading of light towards a wall’s top is sometimes desirable for enhancing the threedimensional visual effect.
The VarioLED Flex Venus range is perfect for areas where the building doesn’t follow linear lines. Available to be bendable and twistable, it makes elaborate designs achievable with sophisticated bent forms without compromising light quality and homogeneity.

From orientation and safety to create the atmosphere at night, bollards are an essential tool for exterior illumination. This bollard range has been developed to combine a well-proportioned, visually appealing design with advanced optical solutions and a wide range of distributions to create the right lit effect for the application.
Utilising adapted high-performance street and area lighting optics, the bollards from WE-EF deliver firstclass illumination with 100 per cent horizontal cut-off that addresses dark sky concerns and safeguards high visual comfort. Through careful control of the output, the luminaires can be widely spaced without impairing the effect and homogeneity of the light.
An innovative Optical System features CAD-optimised optics that provide superior illumination and glare control. The luminaire’s reflector elements produce a controlled downward distribution. An additional refractor lens reduces surface brightness while creating a limited amount of vertical illuminance - all contributing factors to ensuring high visual comfort, facial recognition and public safety.
Durability is another key component; the 5CE Superior Corrosion Protection ensures a reliable and durable performance by the luminaires even under the harshest conditions, e.g., in the vicinity of seawater.

In a world where outdoor lighting is, quite rightly, heavily scrutinised due to dark sky concerns, WE-EF projectors inspire confidence. Their modular structure comprises basic elements and sizes that can be specified with wide ranges of different wattages, lumen packages and white light of various colour temperatures. In addition, tunable white or colour changing functionality is available across the range.
In addition, there are profile projectors for zoom, gobo or framing applications and other optional accessories such as wall wash or linear lenses, honeycomb louvres and glare shields, and snoot attachments, all of which allow the creation of any desired lighting effect.
All WE-EF optics are designed in-house to provide the most efficient and effective light distributions to put light precisely and only where you want it, no more, no less. The result is effective architectural outdoor illumination with nothing stray, wasted or spilled, revealing the architecture and passing scrutiny.
Whether your application requires conventional lighting techniques or new ideas and concepts for showcasing buildings, monuments or landmarks, WE-EF projectors deliver results.
