THE FUTURES EYEWEAR

New Creation, New Style, New Value. FACTORY900 produces "THE FUTURE EYEWEAR” created through continuous innovation.
We, at Aoyama Optical, are a small factory who is always manufactured plastic eyeglasses for three generations over 80 years in the capital of Japanese eyewear, Fukui, Japan. During our long history, we have always challenged ourselves and finally have obtained magnificent plastic - forming techniques in 1970. The manufacturing technique is highly regarded as so unique and one - of - a - kind that industry peers cannot even imagine how it is made.
In 2000, a head designer Yoshinori Aoyama and we started our own brand to create more sophisticate and exquisite eyewear with th e concept “THE FUTURES EYEWEAR”. "900" is derived from the number designated to our factory by the government. Thus, FACTORY900 can handle all the production pro cesses of eyeglasses from start to finish.
Gaining global recognition for its unique and distinctive shape and design, our artisans finish the frames individually with gre at care every day.

In designing FACTORY900, what is important is the "object" itself, and at the core of this is the question, "Can a person cry just by looking at a pair of glasses?
Beauty does not reside in "objects".
The fact that a person "feels" beauty means that their heart has been moved.
So that many people feel beautiful, we have to create something that can push the heart switch of many more people.
FACTORY900 is built around this thought.
ORIGINAL 3D MODELING TECHNOLOGY

Aoyama Optical, which has been in business for more than 80 years, is one of the few integrated production factories in the e yeg lass manufacturing industry that performs almost all production processes by hand.
The 3D modeling, which is unparalleled in the modeling of eyeglasses, is the result of a manufacturing technology that is comple tely confidential and not disclosed to the public.
Even professionals in the field of eyeglass manufacturing are astonished by the beauty of the modeling that is created from a si ngle acetate sheet. Craftsmen work day by day to create eyeglass frames that can only be made here.
ORIGINAL HINGE SYSTEM

Our original spring hinge system is stretchable, so even voluminous eyeglasses do not feel heavy, and do not tire easily even wh en worn for long periods of time.
Different hinges are used according to the characteristics of each part number to provide optimum wearing comfort.
The frames are also designed so that when a load is applied to the frame, the spring hinges bear the load to prevent damage to t he frame itself as much as possible.

We feel that "life and death" present on its "object" as well as living things. "Death" is present in opporsition to creation. It could be said that this sense of values is opposite to the action that pursues the answer of beautiful glasses.
We applied the dying structure to the glasses, as the opposite expression of our past pursue for the beauty.
Could "beauty" exist in the devastation? Is the ruined object living, or dying?
We have expressed a point of time axis between life and death.

In general, 2D and 3D are antonyms. Despite this, we believe that 2D is a component of 3D. Making a flat surface is not a straightforward task. Production becomes more challenging when the flat surface is made as big as possible. This model was created as an experiment to demonstrate the best possible flat surface this time . This is our new proposal for the RETRO collection that is more futuristic .
