SHAUN GELL - JERSEY HONEY

The Jersey Honey company is a family run business, offering a unique range of award-winning products crafted with the elixir of Jersey Honey at our heart. We were inspired by the plight of bees in our small community and their declining populations, we wanted to create a brand that supported both the island’s bees and beekeepers.

Tell us about your Genuine Jersey Products?

If the heart of our product range is the rich, 100% natural liquid gold Jersey honey, its soul resides within the hives of its tireless tiny procurers; the Jersey honey bee. Bees nourish the natural world by pollinating over one third of all the crops we eat, making them an irreplaceable part of the food chain.Without them, we lose the plants, the animals that feed on those plants, and ultimately our ability to sustain our global population. Having been recognised by national and international judges for its exceptional qualities, the microclimate of our island helps produce a premium quality honey with admirers reaching as far as the King’s Breakfast table.

What’s new/what’s coming up?

The importance of bees – the need to care for and protect them – is now a global issue. With your help, we hope to grow our support for these important creatures beyond our island shores, across the UK and beyond. We’re constantly in the process of creating new products and helping to support new bee projects.

VICTORIA LIDDELL

I’m Victoria, a jewellery designer based in Jersey. I create handmade silver and gold pieces inspired by the sea, sky, and land. Each design tells a story – whether it’s a personal memory, a connection to nature, or a celebration of a meaningful moment.

Tell us about your Genuine Jersey Products?

All of my jewellery is handmade in my open studio at Devil’s Hole, where visitors are welcome to see the making process in action. I use a mix of traditional silversmithing techniques alongside some modern skills and real gemstones to create unique pieces that reflect Jersey’s natural beauty. My Coastal collection, for example, is inspired by days spent exploring the shoreline – capturing the spirit of the tides, colours of the sea and the textures. My ‘Your Story ‘collection is all about connection – whether it’s a birthstone, name, date or word, I hand-stamp each letter using metal stamps and a hammer, making every piece unique and meaningful.

What’s new/what’s coming up?

My latest collection, Rockpool, is inspired by exploring Jersey’s rockpools with my two boys – a favourite family adventure filled with curiosity and discovery. The designs reflect the textures, colours and shapes found in these little coastal worlds. Each piece is handcrafted using a technique called granulation, where I carefully melt tiny balls of silver and individually solder them onto the surface. No two pieces are the same, just like the treasures you find in the tidepools.

@Victorialiddelljewellery

In each edition we feature some of Jersey’s creators and let them share their creative visions and handmade goods with you lot, our island consumers. If you like what you see, check out genuinejersey.com and hunt them down to support our local industries!

THIS IS WHAT KITCHEN DESIGN LOOKS LIKE NOW

Sleek yet inviting, innovative without being over-engineered, Beaumont

Home Centre’s latest display captures the future of kitchen design, where every element works in harmony to make life at home simpler and more beautiful.

Whether you’re planning a full kitchen renovation or simply looking for inspiration, Beaumont Home Centre’s stunning new showroom display is worth a visit. This is more than just a beautiful kitchen; it’s a clever, well-thought-out space designed to make daily life easier, calmer and a whole lot more stylish.

From the moment you step into the display, it’s clear that this is a kitchen built around real-life living. Every detail has been considered, from the way light falls onto the worktop to how smoothly the drawers open. But what really sets it apart is how all the elements – design, materials and appliances – work perfectly together.

The cabinetry in this new display is from Häcker’s AV 6023 GL range in Elegant Walnut, a beautiful woodgrain finish with a warm, textured feel. It is complemented by the AV 7070, a unique bronze metallic lacquered door, along with push-toopen glazed units. The design is handleless and streamlined, but never cold or clinical. Vertical grooves add interest and depth, giving it a modern yet timeless look.

Topping the units is a stunning Dekton Entzo worktop with waterfall edging by Cosentino. With the look of white marble and gold veining, it adds instant wow factor, but it’s also extremely practical. It’s heat-, stain- and scratch-resistant, so you can prep, chop and even put down hot pans without worry. It’s the kind of surface that looks great for years.

And then there’s the round breakfast bar, made from Spekva’s Brasilica Royal wood. It’s the soft, social heart of the kitchen – a place to perch with a coffee, share a glass of wine or help with homework while dinner’s cooking.

The centrepiece of the island is the BORA Classic 2.0 cooktop with built-in extractor. It’s a total game-changer. There’s no bulky overhead hood here. Instead, steam and smells are pulled down through the middle of the hob as you cook. It keeps the kitchen fresh and open, and it looks incredibly sleek. Behind the scenes, BORA’s integrated Cool and Freeze appliances (fridge and freezer systems) are tucked away inside the cabinets. They’re designed to blend in completely, with flexible interiors that adapt to how you live – just clever, quiet refrigeration that works beautifully.

BORA also introduces its QVac vacuum sealer, which is ideal for those who like to cook in batches or reduce food waste. It vacuum-seals food so it stays fresh longer, and you can use it for sous-vide cooking too – great for getting restaurant-style results at home.

And don’t miss the lighting. BHC have included BORA’s Horizon pendant, which hangs above the island and creates

the perfect light for both cooking and entertaining. Add in Häcker’s own channel LED lighting and you’ve got a space that works just as well at night as it does during the day.

Over by the sink, there’s a real showstopper: the Quooker Rose Copper tap. It doesn’t just look gorgeous; it gives you boiling, hot, cold, filtered and sparkling water, all from the same tap. No more waiting for the kettle to boil and no more plastic bottles cluttering up the fridge. It’s a tap you’ll wonder how you ever lived without.

The sink itself is part of a smart Franke system, designed to make food prep and washing up that little bit easier. With built in accessories and clever draining, it fits beautifully into the worktop and complements the modern look.

On the back wall, a suite of Siemens built in ovens offers everything from fan-assisted baking to steam cooking and smart connectivity. Whether you’re a weekend baker or love trying out new recipes, these ovens are designed to help you get great results every time. And because they’re integrated into tall units, they sit at the perfect height and no more bending over to check on the roast.

What’s really impressive about this whole display is how everything works together. The appliances don’t fight for attention; they blend into the overall look. The lighting isn’t just decorative, it makes the space feel warm and welcoming. The materials aren’t just for show; they’re designed to be used, loved and lived with.

This is a kitchen that understands how people actually live. It’s stylish, yes, but also practical, calm and designed to stand the test of time. Whether you’re cooking a big family meal or just grabbing breakfast on a Monday morning, everything you need is right where it should be.

For homeowners planning a renovation, this new display is full of ideas: how to combine wood tones with stone-look worktops, how to create a social island that still works for cooking, how to keep things looking clean without losing personality. For interior designers, it shows just how far kitchen design has come. It’s no longer about hiding appliances; it’s about choosing the right ones that elevate the whole space.

And for anyone who just loves beautiful, thoughtful design, it’s a chance to see what’s possible when every element is chosen with care. Visit Beaumont Home Centre’s showroom and see it for yourself. You’ll leave full of ideas and maybe dreaming about your own perfect kitchen.

For homeowners planning a renovation, this new display is full of ideas: how to combine wood tones with stone-look worktops, how to create a social island that still works for cooking, how to keep things looking clean without losing personality.
