As temperatures cool, the world of boating is buzzing with excitement, eager to make the most of the balmy weather and a slew of upcoming yacht shows.

The Monaco Yacht Show (MYS) is back for its 32nd edition and promises to be bigger and better than ever. Considered as the largest annual gathering of superyachts in the world, the MYS attracts private owners and new clients, all looking for a unique and immersive experience in the world of yachting.

Taking place from September 27 to 30, the MYS continues its ‘Seducation’ programme, a collaborative effort with the industry that is built on four pillars: environmental innovation, design, yachting knowledge and visitor experience. The goal is to transform the show into an ecosystem of yachting by promoting environmentally responsible innovation and educating visitors on the latest yachting trends.

his month, thanks to the team at Ferrari Middle East, Hadag experienced the latest evolution of Maranello’s mid-rearengined two-seater Berlinetta Spider in all its modern glory under the sunny skyline of one of the world’s most impressive cities.

EXTERIOR A mere glance was all it took for us to become obsessed with the new 296 GTS. The clean and sophisticated lines of Ferrari’s latest offering ensure it is a peerlessly elegant epitome of what all two-door sports cars should aspire to.

The clean and instantly recognisable exterior design of the GTS remains intact despite multiple modifications and optimised volumes to the bodywork. These upgrades have been incorporated into the new design to maximise aerodynamics and improve overall performance.

Focussing first on the front end, we noticed how the side volume creases sharply inwards, almost folding over the side splitter. What stood out at the flanks was the bold design of the side air curtains that channel the air from the front part of the bumper towards the wheel well so that it vents through a specially created 32

To generate extra downforce, the master craftsmen at Ferrari have included a LaFerrariinspired active spoiler that takes up almost all the space between the taillights. Seamlessly integrated into the rear bumper, this sporty feature automatically deploys when the car reaches a certain speed. When maximum downforce is not required, the spoiler is stowed in a compartment in the upper section of the tail. We found the precision and beauty of this component’s design to be nothing less than exceptional.

Furthermore, the sportscar’s exterior features a fully horizontal engine bay, two flying buttresses and effortless integration of the compact cabin with the wings and flanks. We appreciated how the buttress theme is further enhanced by contrasting sculpted extensions that frame the engine cover screen and integrate the novel fuel filler and battery charge covers.

After what seemed like hours, we managed to tear our eyes away from the silky-smooth design of the exterior and shift our attention to all that lay within.

INTERIOR Our internal inspection revealed an upgraded cockpit developed around an entirely digital interface. The presence of this cutting-edge technology is underscored by a pure and minimalistic interior design, characterised by a powerful elegance that mirrors the aesthetic of the exterior.

Entering the cockpit, we were welcomed by ultra-comfortable and supportive diapasonstyle sports seats. These custom creations we learned were developed specifically for the new 296 GTS, with their contrasting grooves coordinating perfectly with the edge strip of the instrument cluster.

We admired how the sculptural door panels are a seamless continuation of the high-quality dashboard in terms of design, material and colour. A novel three-dimensional element has been included on the central medallion in the form of a deep lozenge-shaped scoop that makes the entire door panel look extremely light, while integrating the theme that connects it to the rear trim.

As impressive as this Ferrari is standing still, it was only once out on the roads that it fully revealed its exceptional nature.

POWER & PERFORMANCE The new 296 GTS houses the 830cv Ferrari V6 hybrid powertrain, ensuring our highlight of the day was engaging the ignition.

V6 Internal Combustion Engine (ICE) coupled with a plug-in electric (PHEV) motor. Even at low revs, we found the engine sounds to be nothing less than inspiring, inciting us to apply more weight to the acceleration pedal.

This potent assembly comprises the turbocharged V6 that feeds power to the rear wheels via the 8-speed DCT and E-Diff, and the MGU-K located between the engine and the gearbox. The result is a new specific power output record for a production car at 221cv/l.

With a total power output of 830cv, 740Nm of torque at 6,250rpm and a maximum rev count of 8,500rpm, this sportscar can deliver breakneck speeds. It boasts a 0-100km/h time of just 2.9 seconds, a 0-200km/h time of 7.6 seconds and a top speed of 330km/h!

To tame the power of this wild prancing horse, Ferrari has included an exceptional braking system that ensures a 200-0km/h deceleration distance of 107m.

The 296 GTS is the first ever Ferrari spider with a rear-wheel drive-only PHEV architecture in which the ICE is integrated with a rear-mounted electric motor. With a full-electric mode range of 25km, we recognised how the hybrid element of this Ferrari makes it extremely versatile in terms of day-to-day driving.

Of course, it wouldn’t be a GTS without a Retractable Hard Top (RHT). Stored inside the engine compartment to maintain the sleek and sporty exterior design, this lightweight top takes just 14 seconds to deploy or retract at speeds up to 45km/h. A simple touch of a button is all it takes. Cruising around Blue Water in the new 296 in the late afternoon with the top down enjoying the fresh breeze, made for one truly memorable driving experience.

FINAL THOUGHTS Despite the array of first-class qualities touched on above, in truth, the new 296 has far too many exceptional design, performance and technological features to mention, and one needs to spend time in this Ferrari to fully appreciate the genius of its makeup.

he ultra-luxurious British brand Aston Martin has been plying its trade for over a century, producing some of the most soughtafter premium cars on the planet. Fusing the latest technology with time-honoured craftsmanship and beautiful styling has resulted in many critically acclaimed

luxury models.

This month, thanks to the team at Adamas Motors, Hadag received the opportunity to thoroughly inspect Aston Martin’s latest masterpiece, the 2023 DBX707.

EXTERIOR As hard as it is to imagine, the extensive engineering upgrades applied to the DBX707 endow the 2023 model with an even more striking exterior design than its predecessor.

At the front end, our eyes were primarily drawn to the now larger satin chrome front grille featuring double vanes and split horizontal bars. This eye-catching design is complimented by the all-new daytime running lights, ensuring this range-topping model is instantly recognisable. Adding to the sporty prowess of the vehicle are new air intakes, brake cooling ducts and the improved front splitter profile.

From side-on, we appreciated how the powerful yet elegant lines of the DBX707’s clamshell bonnet effortlessly integrate into the vehicle’s flanks. Gloss black side sills feature a now deeper and more heavily sculptured profile, bestowing the luxury, soft-close, fivedoor SUV with a ground-hugging stance. Gloss Black Diamond Turned 22-inch alloy wheels are standard on this latest model.

At the backend, a new lip spoiler has been added to the roof wing that enhances the aesthetics and aerodynamics of the vehicle. The significantly enlarged twin rear diffuser now rises to meet the new large-diameter quad exhaust system.

Further accentuating the DBX707’s muscular build is the new rear bumper complete with integrated quarter panel vents.

As impressive as the exterior design of Aston Martin's latest offering is, it was once we entered the vehicle that we began to truly appreciate the mastery of what the brand has managed to accomplish. function and Aston Martin embroidered headrests, the interior of the DBX707 is nothing less than awe-inspiring.

Even with the sportscar-orientated cockpit design, the SUV provides a comfortable space with plenty of room. The refined and contemporary design of the dashboard and consoles fit the environment perfectly, with all controls expertly placed for optimal access.

Thanks to the panoramic sunroof, an abundance of light is always present throughout the cabin – an area that provides enough space for up to five occupants. The 22.3cu/ft of cargo room ensures this luxury SUV is also a practical choice for day-to-day use.

Despite inspecting the interior with a fine toothcomb, we failed to find a single element that has been less than masterfully designed.

Only the finest high-end materials are used throughout, and the attention to every little detail is obvious. A plethora of first-class accessories has also been included as standard in this model.

INFOTAINMENT & TECHNOLOGY It was no surprise that Aston Martin has equipped the new DBX707 with capable tech.

The 12.3-inch TFT driver information display sits under the driver selectors in the dashboard and is coupled with a 10.25-inch TFT central infotainment display.

This convenient and user-friendly arrangement is controlled by a rotary entertainment system interface and touchpad, located in the centre console. We found the system to provide clear graphics along with super-fast access to the car’s various functions.

This setup offers mobile phone operating system connectivity via Apple CarPlay, along with Bluetooth mobile phone connectivity with audio streaming. Other must-mention features include a satellite navigation system (HDD), voice control, SiriusXM Satellite radio, wireless charging and an 800-watt Aston Martin Premium Audio System, complete with 14 speakers.

PERFORMANCE & SAFETY As impossible as it is to fully describe the performance capabilities of the upgraded DBX707 in a couple of paragraphs, we will attempt to deliver the highlights.

Aston Martin’s latest creation houses a 4.0-litre V8 Twin Turbo engine that produces 697bhp at 4,500rpm and 900Nm of torque at 6,000rpm.

This abundance of power is intensified by the ‘Race Start’ feature, available in both GT Sport and Sport+ modes, enabling the 707 to clock a 0-100km/h time of just 3.3 seconds and a top speed of 310mph. These statistics challenge those of the most capable sportscars available on the market today. Not too shabby for an SUV weighing in at almost two and a quarter tonnes.

Despite the summer heat, the growling sound emanating from the engine compelled us to travel for much of the day with the windows down, just to fully appreciate the raw power.

The HM9-SV’s planetary differential serves as the gearbox of the movement, averaging the time measurements from the twin balances to deliver a final reading on the perpendicularly oriented dial. he seeds of luxury watchmaker Jacob & Co. were first planted decades ago, when Jacob Arabov was just a boy. It started with a gift – a special double time zone watch given to 13-year-old Jacob by his father, Nison Arabov. This was no ordinary timepiece.

For young Jacob, it represented the whole world laid out before him, waiting to be explored.

That gift lit a spark in Jacob, inspiring what would become a lifelong passion for watchmaking. Now, 45 years later, Jacob and his son Benjamin have brought that symbolic gift to life in a new collection called The World Is Yours. It's a touching tribute to the watch that started it all – and the father who made it possible.

The World Is Yours Dual Time Zone is the first model in the new collection, a reimagination of that original double time zone watch. Its most striking feature is the intricate map dial, depicting the Earth as seen from space. A domed dial sits inside a 43mm rose gold case.

It features continents rendered in a rose gold finish, stamped using a high-accuracy mould, along with three sub-dials carved into the dial plate. Oceans and seas are lacquered blue, set off by gold-stamped Roman and Arabic numerals and the minute tracks.

The bezel is thin and rounded to maximise the dial area. It also features a dramatically domed sapphire crystal, with a height difference of 3.7mm from its lowest to highest points, adding to the globe-like shape of the dial. Even the rose gold hands are curved to embrace the contours.

On the reverse side, the 18k rose gold caseback depicts engraved maps of the rest of the world, from Europe to Japan and all of Africa and Asia, completing the world

The Sunshine State boasts over 663 miles of coastline that contains some of the world’s most beautiful beaches and diving sites. Miami is an idyllic location famous for its vibrant nightlife, upscale shopping, world-class restaurants, impressive skyscrapers and the Everglades alligators.

Hadag recently enjoyed a memorable four-day and night experience at the Mandarin Oriental, Miami. From the moment we arrived, we were welcomed by golden sunshine and some of the friendliest and most professional hotel staff we’ve encountered over our many years of travelling.

Mandarin Oriental, Miami For starters, we found the Mandarin Oriental to be perfectly positioned in Miami. This five-star hotel is not only located close to the airport, but a mere stone’s throw away from numerous city attractions, including the Brickell City Center, the Design District, Wynwood and the Perez Art Museum.

Upon arrival at the hotel, the staff welcomed us as valued guests and ensured our check-in was a friendly and efficient experience. Mere moments later, we were escorted to our rooms, where we were hugely pleased to be greeted by the luxurious nature of our fine accommodation.

The Rooms Grateful to be given a personalised tour of the hotel, we discovered that the Mandarin Oriental, Miami houses 326 guestrooms of various sizes, all offering access to private balconies with stunning views of Miami Bay and the city skyline. For those seeking the ultimate in opulent accommodation, the Mandarin Presidential Suite and the Oriental Penthouse Suite are truly sublime and available for those willing to pay for perfection.

I found my 41sq/m Deluxe Bay View Room with its 10ft-high ceiling, spacious and stocked with all amenities required for a productive and comfortable stay. These included a sizy work desk, wireless high-speed internet, an iPhone sound dock, an HD TV with On Demand and one of the most comfortable king-sized beds I’ve ever had the good fortune of sleeping on.

My favourite inclusion, however, had to be the in-room, fully automatic espresso machine that enabled me to jumpstart each day with a quick and tasty shot.

Fine Dining Miami’s Mandarin Oriental ensures all guests are spoilt for choice at mealtimes. Along with the relaxing option of in-room dining, the hotel houses several upmarket eateries for patrons to select from.

These options include food and drinks at the glamourous MO Bar + Lounge, light snacks at the tranquil waterside Oasis Pool Café and the buffet or à la carte serving option of Breakfast

Gastón Acurio was our destination of choice.

With its beautiful waterside location and exceptional views of the city skyline, we felt fortunate to sample several dishes at this highend restaurant throughout our stay.

These must mention meals consisted of Peruvian-inspired appetisers and main courses. We indulged in dishes comprising Spanish octopus, Peruvian botija olive sauce, chimichurri roasted piquillo peppers and avocado. Equally as scrumptious were the panseared jumbo scallops, seafood rice with shrimp octopus, calamari and Peruvian peppers, along with one of the tastiest tenderloin stir-fries we’ve ever sampled.

Five-Star Spa For anyone desiring a little pampering, the Mandarin Oriental, Miami has an awardwinning spa and wellness centre within its walls.

Our tour of this tri-level sanctuary revealed first-class amenities, including a state-of-the-art fitness centre, the upmarket JSC salon, a large infinity-edge swimming pool and the spa itself that offers a range of massage, beauty and relaxation treatments, along with sauna and steam room sessions.

Meeting Facilities For those in Miami on business, the Mandarin Oriental provides an on-site Conference Concierge service and has 15 function rooms and an oversized terrace to cater to all needs and sizes of groups. We found these locations to be most impressive, with their 22ft ceilings, silk wall coverings, natural lighting, built-in screens, stunning rice paper chandeliers and state-of-theart technology for multimedia productions.

he song On Top of the World by Imagine Dragons started playing in my head as soon as we entered the elevator at Four Seasons Hotel Bahrain Bay on our way to re/Asian Cuisine by Wolfgang Puck. The restaurant is located on the 50th floor (the trigger for the music popping in my head). The elevator ride was smooth and we reached 'the top of the world' in a few seconds.

As soon as we entered the eatery, the stunning view of Bahrain's skyline, many floors below, was breathtaking – we took a moment to absorb such beautiful scenery. We were lucky to be seated right next to the glass wall, allowing us to enjoy the stunning cityscape with its shimmering night lights. The décor follows an art-deco-inspired design with a minimalist, modern twist. Magnificent crystal chandeliers and the large wooden sushi counter caught my attention. You can sit by the counter or enter deeper into the room, where you have dimly lit areas offering privacy. The vibe is a definite perk at this place – the resident DJ keeps the music at the right volume with perfectly tailored beats for a lounge/fine-dining atmosphere.

Regional Executive Chef Brian Becher and Chef Kiyoshi Udagawa are the maestros of the dishes that re/Asian offers in an innovative menu that gives a modern spin to traditional Asian recipes. That night, we also had the pleasure of meeting Rumena Begum, the restaurant's director, who is very passionate about re/Asian's menu (and knows it intimately) and helped us choose our dishes.

The dining experience started with Priya stopping by our table with her beverage stroller (or, in her words, her moving bar). She offered us two new signature drinks: Goldtini, made with bubbles and edible gold, and Hot and Numbing, with spicy orangey hints. The first was quite sophisticated, while the other hit like a liquid punch; they were delicious!

A selection of palate teasers appeared on our table. Kimchi with crunchy Chinese cabbage bathed in peanut sauce kicked off our taste buds' journey. The Jackfruit Bao had a delicate filling in a super soft dough. When dipped in the accompanying sweet and tangy sauce, it became one of the best bites of the entire night (there were many) – comforting and adventurous. The Trio of Veggies was a selection of vegetables, such as lotus root, radish and carrot infused with citrus juices – the presentation was super cute with a lovely rabbit-shaped beetroot. The Edamame Tofu, another strong contender as best bite, was a creamy green delight that was soft but firm with a gorgeous edamame flavour – I love tofu and edamame, so this was a marriage made in heaven for me. We also had the Crispy Rice Vegetable, a combination of five crispy rice squares topped with different toppings, such as asparagus and eggplant – they were crunchy and each had a completely different texture and flavour, yum!

It was time for the mains. With so many options and the possibility of having most Hadag Magazine

of the dishes transformed for my vegetarian preference, Rumena was a star when she took care of my order. My dining companion is a raw-fish enthusiast, so he opted for the Sea Bream Ceviche, beautifully created with ginger, lime, carrot and yuzu, and Hamachi Sashimi.

The ceviche was citrusy and the Hamachi was fresh with the expected allusion of oceanic flavour. He also had the Braised Beef Short Ribs cooked for several hours in Rendang style (when the meat is cooked and braised in a herb and spice mixture until the liquid evaporates).

The beef was tender, rich in flavours and melted in his mouth.

I had the Thai Green Curry with Tofu. Well, I already mentioned my love for tofu, but I haven't said how much I adore Thai cuisine – so this was the perfect dish Rumena could have chosen. It had the right amount of spiciness combined with crunchy on the outside and soft on the inside tofu, teamed with sugar snaps, green beans, spinach, coriander leaves and peanuts in a lush green sauce – I finished every last bite of it! I guess that says it all. We also had two sides: Crispy Miso Artichoke and Hunan Eggplant & Snow Pea Pods (a must-try if you like eggplants and even if you don't!).

We finished our feast with the refreshing Halo Halo dessert made with coconut tapioca pearls, mango sorbet and crispy rice. Chef Brian came to talk to us right when it arrived at our table and said that even when someone tells him they don't have space for dessert, there is always room for Halo Halo – he was absolutely right!

It was the perfect end to a magnificent display of culinary artistry, with dishes made with many hidden details to make them memorable.

‫ومليئة بالمغامرة‪ .‬كان ‪ Trio of Veggies‬عبارة عن مجموعة‬ ‫مختارة من الخضروات‪ ،‬مثل جذور اللوتس والفجل والجزر‬ ‫الممزوجة بعصائر الحمضيات ‪ -‬وكان العرض لطيفً ا للغاية مع‬ ‫جذر الشمندر الجميل على شكل أرنب‪ .‬كان ‪،Edamame Tofu‬‬ ‫وهو منافس قوي آخر كأفضل لقمة‪ ،‬عبارة عن بهجة خضراء‬ ‫كريمية كانت ناعمة ولكن قوية بنكهة إيدامامي الرائعة ‪ -‬أنا‬ ‫أحب التوفو واإلدامامي‪ ،‬لذلك كان هذا مزيجا من الجنة بالنسبة‬ ‫أيضا األرز المقرمش بالخضار‪ ،‬وهو عبارة عن مزيج‬ ‫لي‪ .‬كان لدينا ً‬ ‫من خمس مربعات أرز مقرمشة مغطاة بإضافات مختلفة‪ ،‬مثل‬ ‫الهليون والباذنجان ‪ -‬كانت مقرمشة ولكل منها نسيج ونكهة‬ ‫تماما‪ ،‬لذيذ!‬ ‫مختلفة‬ ‫ً‬ ‫لقد حان وقت األطباق الرئيسية‪ .‬مع وجود العديد من الخيارات‬ ‫وإمكانية تحويل معظم األطباق لتناسب تفضيالتي النباتية‪،‬‬ ‫كانت رومينا نجمة عندما اهتمت بطلبي‪ .‬كان رفيقي في تناول‬ ‫الطعام من عشاق األسماك النيئة‪ ،‬لذا اختار طبق ‪Sea Bream‬‬ ‫‪ ،Ceviche‬المصنوع بشكل جميل من الزنجبيل والليمون والجزر‬ ‫واليوزو وهاماتشي ساشيمي‪ .‬كان السيفيتشي حمض ًيا وكان‬ ‫طازجا مع لمسة متوقعة لنكهة المحيط‪ .‬لقد قام‬ ‫الهاماتشي‬ ‫ً‬ ‫أيضا بطلب أضالع اللحم البقري القصيرة المطهوة ببطء لعدة‬ ‫ً‬ ‫ساعات بأسلوب ريندانج (عندما ينضج اللحم و ُيطهى ببطء في‬ ‫خليط من األعشاب والتوابل حتى يتبخر السائل)‪ .‬كان لحم البقر‬ ‫طر ًيا وغن ًيا بالنكهات وذاب في فمه‪.‬‬ ‫كان من نصيبي الكاري األخضر التايالندي مع التوفو‪ .‬حسنًا‪،‬‬ ‫لقد ذكرت بالفعل حبي للتوفو‪ ،‬لكنني لم أذكر مدى عشقي‬ ‫للمطبخ التايالندي ‪ -‬لذلك كان هذا الطبق المثالي لترشحة لي‬ ‫رومينا‪ .‬كان يحتوي على الكمية المناسبة من البهارات الممزوجة‬ ‫بالتوفو المقرمش من الخارج واللين من الداخل‪ ،‬مع قطع السكر‬ ‫والفاصوليا الخضراء والسبانخ وأوراق الكزبرة والفول السوداني‬ ‫في صلصة خضراء مورقة ‪ -‬التهمت هذا الطبق حتى آخر قضمة‬ ‫أيضا طبقان‬ ‫منه! أعتقد أن هذا يوضح كل شيء‪ .‬كان لدينا ً‬ ‫جانبيان‪ Crispy Miso Artichoke :‬و& ‪Hunan Eggplant‬‬ ‫‪( Snow Pea Pods‬يجب تجربتها إذا كنت تحب الباذنجان وحتى‬ ‫إذا كنت ال تحبه!)‪.‬‬ ‫لقد أنهينا هذه الوليمة بحلوى الهالو هالو المنعشة المصنوعة‬ ‫من حبيبات التابيوكا بجوز الهند وشراب المانجو واألرز المقرمش‪.‬‬ ‫جاء الشيف براين للتحدث إلينا فور وصوله إلى طاولتنا وقال أنه‬
