Letter from the CEO

Dear Fabtech Family,

Happy New Year to you all! I hope everyone was able to recharge and reset during the holidays. As we move towards 2023 I would like to take a quick moment to look back at all we have accomplished as a company during 2022.

2022 was quite the turning point for Fabtech. It was the year in which we transitioned from the Pandemic and had to prepare ourselves for the post lockdown world. Despite all the challenges, we we’re able to strengthen our business, welcome new coworkers and start new company initiatives.

Among some of our highlights from the past year we’re the openings of both Auro and Gruppo Dolci’s first retail outlet; our Weight to Go competition as well as the completion of large projects like JP Morgan and IKEA.

Over the past year I am proud of all the resilience and strength that all of you have demonstrated, but most importantly of the teamwork and comradery that was present in all of the work. In Fabtech the collective really does work more than the sum of its parts.

As we look ahead to 2023 and the challenges we need to face together moving forward, let us hope that all of our effort and hard work will bear fruit in the coming year. Continue to have faith and trust in yourselves and each other.

I would like to thank every for the work they have done as well as thank you in advance for the accomplishments I am foreseeing for the company for 2023.

Gruppo Dolci

AURO CAFÉ IKEA MOA

AURO Chocolate, a bean-to-bar company which sustainably sources cacao beans from Filipino farmers, launched in December a grab-and-go concept store in SM Mall of Asia’s MOA Square, next to Ikea Philippines, as a way to move forward despite the pandemic.

The physical store is an attempt to further widen their “distribution and presence in Metro Manila and offer a unique sustainable experience for everyone,” she said.

With a vision of being proudly Filipino, the space is made of handwoven material and lit warmly to provide an atmosphere befitting choices like Sourdough Pan de Tsokolate stuffed with Tinapang Bangus, and Tortang Talong and Beef Pares sandwiches.

“We want everything to be locally sourced and crafted,” said Ms. Go, referring to the food and drinks as well as the café itself.

Auro plans to open more physical stores.

HOSPITAL BED PROJECT

In times like these, where pandemic hit and affected everyone, we still have to find our own unique ways to help and pitch in. We are blessed to have our stainless steel fabrication plant that normally produces high-end kitchen equipment. Due to this outbreak, our projects stopped and we had to halt our production. Yet, we always wanted to provide assistance in our own way. When we found out there was a shortage of hospital beds, we once again got back to work. We are grateful to at least have this opportunity and capability to give back to our frontliners.

We were able to donate around 300 steel hospital beds and hands-free sinks to hospitals who have been in dire need of additional beds during the height of Pandemic. We would like to extend our gratitude to those who have donated both in materials and cash to support this cause and help more hospitals. And of course, we are very proud and thankful for our team that go way above their line of work. We wouldn’t be able to make it happen without these amazing people at Fabtech Philippines.

FUTURE FACES

MULTIPURPOSE CENTER

OCTOBER 6, 2020

This pandemic has affected us all but we often forget that it has not hit us all equally. The most vulnerable parts of our community are affected much worse. Any type of recovery plan must look at grassroots level because COVID-19 does not choose who to infect. We are only as strong as our weakest link.

In partnership with Future Faces and Project Pearl in Bulacan, Fabtech Group of Companies is helping design and build a multipurpose center.

This center will often act as a soup kitchen that aims to feed 300 to 500 malnourished children a day. These children were transferred from Tondo, Smokey Mountains who often relied on “Pag pag” (food waste) food to survive. Now with the pandemic, they are having an even more difficult time finding sources of food.

This center will also be used to train adults on basic nutrition and cooking skills in the hopes that they can also build their own businesses.

COMPANY SPONSORED VACCINATION

As the country continuously strives to bounce back and fight the spread of the virus, we wanted to take measure in taking care of our community members. We make sure to cover members’ health as much as we are capable.

Thru our partnered efforts with Chinese General Hospital, we were able to sponsor 2 doses of COVID-19 vaccines to 199 employees across the group. With our dwindling resources, we are blessed to still be able to secure the health of our employees.

ANNUAL RAFFLE: Payday Friday

January 22, 2021

Being in the lockdown for many months and not able to see everyone, we craved for the presence of everyone here at the Fabtech Group Building. We held our first employee engagement over a long time –Annual Raffle: Payday Friday. We raffled minor and major items, and free gelato for all.

It was a simple event where we gathered and thanked God for the blessing of health, safety, and financial survival of the company. It was a day of reflection for many as we reflect on the challenges 2020 had brought to our community.

With all that happened since the pandemic, we wanted to acknowledge and appreciate everyone for being champions, those who stepped-up during the most challenging times. It was Valentine’s Day 2021 and we celebrated it by highlighting that love has its many forms, that it is beyond just romance. We wanted to use this day to show that Love is

more about Friendships, Family, and the community. Spreading some love with everyone as we gave away Auro Chocolates, and played games with the employees. Everyone enjoyed looking for their heart matches and complete a song. Those happiness exudes in them even with masks on, warms our heart.

Eggzoiting Summer and Tiktokerist Challenge

To celebrate summer and confirmation of our continued work with IKEA, we had an “Egg-Hunting-Trivia Game” day where employees hunt for eggs with trivia and treats inside. We also piloted Fabtech Henyo (pinoy henyo) played in pairs and also held Fabtech Got Talent (TikTokerist) version as we are still not allowed to gather. Participants sent their entries using Tiktok.

Team Dinner was indeed fun!

“It happened on the last 1st of July 2022. After a long time without formal social gatherings because of the Pandemic, the Team Dinner came. As a team, we opted to celebrate it as one. We had random games, teams, and simple prizes. We had dinner and a lot of food to enjoy together. We sang our favorite singles and had fun. Everyone felt the love and bond we missed for a long time. New hires also joined us, and it was indeed a blast.

Having them as part of the committee and allowing them to showcase what they

got by letting them handle simple events like that is such an awesome conclusion. This event focuses on the team huddle, how we can strengthen the relationship we built over the past few years, and how to continue the mutual understanding at work. We are looking forward to more bonding moments like this. “On July 14-16, PINO Design Studio had its first in-person team building after 2 years since the pandemic. The team made the trip to Camayan Beach Resort in Subic, Pampanga. The 2-day event was filled with indoor activities that

honed the team’s mental ability and outdoor challenges such as an obstacle course to test their physical endurance. As a whole, this initiative fostered the team’s interpersonal relationships while growing and learning individually.”

“If there is anything this pandemic taught us as an organization, it would be that we are only as limited as we allow to be. The world of work and food industry had shifted since COVID that businesses were left to guess what the future will be with much anxiety.

Everything was put to stop. Future of work became blurry.

But not Fabtech.

We only stopped 2 weeks when we decided to call on anyone who is willing to go out and help transform what we do. From kitchen tables, we produced and donated hospital beds. From industrial food sales, we catered home orders. We rodeo from there finishing some of the biggest clients we have like IKEA, Sheraton and JP Morgan.

Fabtech Expo 2022 is a formal statement of everything we can do as a community.

We are an organization made of people who love making things possible for everyone we work for and everyone we work with.

True to our mission of fulfilling potential, our people, made of grit and optimism never cease to amaze both our community and our clients in our capacity to do things most people can’t.

“Engineering Team building was held last October 22, 2022 at Coral View Beach Resort at Morong Bataan together with Installation, Logistics and Legal Department. Team building activities gives employees something common to talk about other than work. These events can build comradery, make employees more excited to come into work, more enthusiastic about their work,

and more comfortable approaching each other. This team building creates more closer to each employee and we got to know each other better. Employees feel appreciated for their hard work. We had so much fun and super enjoy, what a great experience. We thank the Fabtech Management for this great opportunity”

In Fabtech, the management value its employees the way they value their customers. This is why the company conducts several activities for employee engagement, one of which is the Annual Team Building, which everyone gets excited about! It was in November 12-13, 2022 that we had our team building at Netania de Laiya Beach Resort located

at San Juan Batangas. Three departments from Fabtech Finance, Sales and IT, have come together as a family to enjoy, relax and build fond memories on the beach. I can still vividly recall how everyone has been energetic, competitive and collaborative with all the games we had in the afternoon and during that evening of our Day 1 we had our Date Night where everyone is dressed up to have dinner under the stars, sing, dance and shared stories of the things they are grateful of.”

A well-deserved break for the team! It was nice to see everyone in one location from being in a different deployment daily – sharing talents, laughter and bond together. What a great moment to be reminded of how blessed we are to be part and a heart of the company.

Indeed, there is a power in a group of people who work together toward a shared goal. This is what true support is all about. Supported teams are successful teams!

Material Management, Marketing, BACM, & JSG

For us, this team building was destined to happen, despite all the hurdles occurred. All of us in the Purchasing, Material Management, BACM, Marketing, and JSG are meant to bond together and get to know each other, not just from our everyday encounters. We may be the remaining teams to hold the team building, but it just worked in our favor. It was a chill and relaxing break from our daily hectic work.

We just enjoyed the presence of everyone over food, drinks, laughter, stories, and games that made our connections deeper.

Before, we may only get chance upon each other along corridors or in the canteen during breaks, but after this team building it’s not only glances or simple greetings instead we felt closer with them. It was easier and lighter to build relationships with the people you come across every day in the office because of company events like this. Especially for us, Marketing team who was just new, it was touching to feel included and seen. Looking forward to more of this which strengthens the relationship of employees.
