My father is a renovation company director and my mother is a nursery teacher.

When the school finished, every summer since I was 14, I always enjoyed going and observing the different constructions sites, working with plumbers, eletricians and bricklayers.

When I finished my surveying studies at 19, I realised that the surveyor life didn’t belong to me. My dad’s work could wait.

Year by year I had been looking at so many different houses with their different problems and their characteristics, but there was a special one, that changed everything. It was in Arena street. It had been designed with so much precision and care, that I still remember it: it is deeply impressed on my mind.

Once I graduated, after an Erasmus in Alicante and a thesis on a Montessori kindergarten, I was excited at the idea of being able to build something real from sketch, so I started working with my father.

Time passed and project after project I realized I was missing something... I wanted to expand my knowledge, not to relegate myself to the interior Architecture.

After finding a job as a baby sitter for self-support, I continued my studies with a master’s degree in civil architecture in which I was able to design modular buildings for the troubled populations of Mozambique.

Looking back to my academic years, I recognise that the most beautiful thing about architecture training is the universal approach, that is applicable in every fields of life.
