Los tickets o recibos de compra son la cosa mas estorbosa y de acumulación de basura que existe para algunos, como mi estimado Eduardo Limón, que siempre evita guardarlos y por lo regular los acaba tirando en cuanto los recibe, en cambio para otros son la forma mas formal y fidedigna de llevar las finanzas y contabilidad de un negocio, como mi primo Jairo Campos, quien en una conversación me aseguraba que yo podía hacer arte de algo que él usaba mes con mes para comprobar sus gastos, o también como me sucedía para justificar viáticos durante varios viajes al interior de la República que realizábamos en aquellos tiempos del programa de radio. Finalmente para mi desarrollar este proyecto de TICKET DE COMPRA ha sido un proceso de reencuentro con un pasado que es testigo de muchas épocas de bonanza y de dispendio, pero también de acumulación de papeles que para muchos pueden serte utilidad, o no, y que en estos meses de confinamiento por la pandemia me han servido de material de reciclaje para llevar a cabo esta serie de collages que no pretenden ser parte de una moda de utilizar dichos tickets como sustrato de una obra de arte, como son los ejemplos de un ticket de Superama amplificado e impreso en un telar para realizar un tapete, o de fondo de envoltura para cajas de arte objeto, sino en realidad son parte de esta búsqueda de diversos estilos y técnicas manuales o análogas en esta labor artística y que expresan diversos temas como el materialismo de nuestra vida donde todo está regido por cifras y números pero también por estos vestigios de papel cuya tinta puede ser indeleble o desaparecer con el paso del tiempo y la tecnología que todo lo absorbe y sustituye paulatinamente.

Tickets or purchase receipts are the most cumbersome and garbage accumulation thing that exists for some, like my dear Eduardo Limón, who always avoids keeping them and usually ends up throwing them away as soon as he receives them, instead for others they are the way more formal and trustworthy way of managing the finances and accounting of a business, like my cousin Jairo Campos, who in a conversation assured me that I could make art out of something that he used month after month to check his expenses, or also as it happened to me to justify travel expenses during several trips to the interior of the Republic that we made at the time of the radio program.Finally, for me, developing this PURCHASE RECEIPT project has been a process of re-encountering a past that is witness to many boom times and waste, but also an accumulation of papers that for many may or may not be useful to you, and that in these months of confinement due to the pandemic have served me as recycling material to carry out this series of collages that are not intended to be part of a trend of using these tickets as a substrate for a work of art, such as the examples of a ticket of Superama´s market amplified and printed on a loom to make a rug, or as a wrapping background for boxes of object art, but in reality they are part of this search for various styles and manual or analogous techniques in this artistic work and that express various themes such as materialism of our life where everything is governed by figures and numbers but also by these vestiges of paper whose ink can be indelible or disappear with the passage of time and technology that absorbs and gradually replaces everything.
