It Starts With An Inspection

Concrete buildings are engineered to perform over the long haul. Things are bound to happen; severe weather and run-ins with heavy equipment are all but guaranteed. Thankfully, W2E, Fabcon Work 2 Existing, can address structural and cosmetic issues before they turn into something far worse, minimizing or even erasing visible signs of damage.
Our inspections include both the inside and outside walls of the building. We check for cracks, the condition of the caulking and for any other visible damage. We also inspect for drainage issues. The inside is inspected for leaks at the top of the wall and for cracks where the floor and walls meet.
The Fabcon Work 2 Existing team is capable of inspecting and performing repair work not only on structural precast, but on site-cast and Concrete Masonry (CMU), as well. If it's made of concrete, we can repair it.

Building Inspections 01
Our inspections include both the inside and outside walls of the building. We check for cracks, and signs of damaged concrete. We also inspect for drainage issues. The inside is inspected for leaks at the top of the wall and for cracks where the concrete floor and walls meet. Once the inspection is completed, which includes a mapping of the entire building, a report is generated identifying areas of concern. The report also includes maintenance and repair recommendations. A proposal for completing the recommended work is sent separately.

Although concrete buildings and structures are engineered to perform for the long haul, neither accidents nor Mother Nature can be avoided forever. Our concrete restoration contractors have the experience to address both cosmetic and structural damage, regardless of who built your structure.
Facilitating Expansion
It’s not uncommon for concrete buildings to be repurposed — churches become car dealerships, warehouses become office buildings, schools become churches. W2E can help with the transition. Cutting a hole in a structural wall might sound straightforward. It’s not. Because precast panels are highly engineered, a window cannot simply be cut into them; doing so would compromise the structural integrity of the building and make for unsafe working conditions. Adding or removing dock doors, daylighting features, and man doors, for example, requires the skills of an engineer who understands the structural components of precast… and a cutting crew with surgical skills.
All commercial concrete structures require routine care to prevent long-term damage. Our concrete services include concrete resurfacing, recaulking, crack repair, and general building wear and tear solutions. W2E can provide all of your maintenance needs.
Structural Modifications

Problem
The customer contacted Fabcon’s Work to Existing (W2E) team after discovering multiple concerns with an existing precast building. The issues included delaminated panels, extensive cracking, and poor caulking, all of which threatened the building’s structural integrity and performance.
Solution
Fabcon recommended a comprehensive building inspection to identify the full scope of the problem areas. Once the inspection was complete, a detailed proposal outlined the necessary repairs and maintenance. Some repairs required engineering review and design support to safely stabilize the delaminated panels. Fabcon’s Work to Existing crews performed all repairs, including panel restoration, crack remediation, caulking replacement, and structural reinforcement. The W2E team managed the process from start to finish, delivering a complete turnkey solution for the customer.
