PROJECTS:
An architectural retreat, 6 single-family residences in Santa Clara, UT. Little Lava is a community driven development with shared landscape and amenity spaces. The project's intent is to be a short-term retreat location for individuals looking for a unique architectural experience in Southern Utah. Each home is designed harmoniously with one another, while also being unique in plan and spatial development.
The design draws from the surrounding red / lava rock landscape, incorporating colors and materials. Each home is designed with a restraint for simple yet strong moves that form the buildings shape and program. The homes are designed with the arid climate in mind. Large overhangs protect windows from harsh summer sun. Heavy mass walls hold in heat during the day and release during the night. Operable windows and doors are used for natural ventilation and night fushing.

STATUS UPDATE
20 24 Builder 20 | Wichita, KS | Spring
We really have a wonderful team. Great people, great culture. We have really great clients as well.
We have a lot of work on the construction team that will bring on consistent revenue for the near future.
Opening of our furniture store will be late May and I am excited to see that finally come alive.
I’ve been sailing through French Polynesia for that last 7 weeks with my family and that was some really high highs, and some almost disastrous lows, but overall an amazing adventure.
Highs HOW IT’S GOING Builder 20 | Wichita, KS | Spring
We did not get off to a great start for profit in Q1 of this year. Our forecasts say that we will still be able to hit year end goals, but the start of the year due to value engineering of all three of our massive projects have slowed down putting work in place, and is also time consuming and deflating. Budgeting, selections, and price alignment is something we are really wanting to improve. We are pushing to ramp up productivity in construction, which will in turn produce revenue and profitability through the rest of the year. We have enforced efficiency and performance with the Team and have had some people leave. Turnover while can be good is still painful for the surrounding team. Our Architecture Team is working through some of these massive projects, and the Ranch project that has over a dozen structures and we look to be needing to backfill in some more work. I am working on long term hold projects that we are starting on to fill some gaps.

Market Outlook:
The market in our area is tough to understand. The Park City area seems to be strong and still moving. We have been spoiled with some of these massive projects, so now anything under a 10mm project feels like chump change, but I think we are all working on correcting that thought. Overall I think people are still hoping that pricing will drastically come down, which I personally do not believe that will happen that much. We have good leads, but are looking to lock down a few new projects in the near future.

Design Trends:
I would still say “timeless” is one of the top requests - which is not to style or era specific, and a good use of natural materials and proven architectural moves. Medium tones in wood. Monochromatic and textural. Soft paint tones. Not nearly as much high contrast. Then more fun in furnishings - vibrant colors, textures, patterns.
