Dear EYP alumni,

It is our greatest pleasure to launch the Call for Officials for Kraków 2016, the 13th National Selection Conference of European Youth Parliament Poland!

Under the theme Shaping Ideas for Tomorrow’s Europe the session will gather 120 delegates, as well as two international delegations. For Officials, the session’s dates range from the 1st until the 5th of September 2016.

Kraków 2016 will be Head-Organised by NC Board Members Alicja Turakiewicz and Marta Sznajder.

The President of the session is Fahad Saher from the Netherlands. The Editor of the session in Endre Haugland from Norway/Denmark, and the jury will be led by Alastair Payne from the United Kingdom.

We are now looking for 1-2 Members of the Editorial Team, 10 Media Team Members and 2-3 Jury Members. Officials are expected to arrive on the 1st of September by no later than 12:00 CET. There is no participation fee for international officials, the fee for Polish officials is 150 PLN.

A word from the Editor

Dear potential participant of Kraków 2016,

I think EYP media is important. It helps us emphasise people and interactivity in a way that is unique for the EYP. It has the potential to provide a new perspective, to prolong the passion, to empower an impact. An impact, however, is seldom achieved alone. We need each other in order to flourish.

My personal experience is that I flourish the most when I am amongst equals. I learn the most when I am having fun, when I am working with people instead of for people. I have learned that conversation is better than lectures, and that trust is better than force. In my way of leading a Media Team I strive towards upholding these principles.

I believe that a good Media Team does not consist of individuals working for themselves, it should be minds coming together to shape each other and improve each other. Therefore Krakow will be a group effort where we challenge each other and learn from each other.

Nothing we do in Krakow will be me telling you. Everything we do in Krakow will be us.

Some people define Media Teams as either fun, or academically relevant. I don’t like that definition and tend to say as Winnie the Pooh: Yes please both.

Join us in Krakow, let’s combine all our capabilities and make this session one of a kind!
