thevision In 966, Duke Mieszko I adopted Christianity and established Poland. In 1795, the Polish–Lithuanian Commonwealth disappeared from the map, partitioned by its neighbouring empires. In 1918, a new Poland emerged from the rubble of World War I. On 4.–9.9.2018, the European Youth Parliament gathered in Białystok for the 15th National Selection Conference of EYP Poland. Where were you then? Białystok 2018 is a remarkable event for two reasons: it celebrates 100 years of Polish independence and marks the 15th time EYP Poland convenes for an NSC. The timing could not be better, as Poland is currently at the centre of several debates concerning the future of the European Union. The question we want delegates to ask themselves is: “What kind of Europe do I want, and what should my country’s role be in it?”. In line with the session theme, the committee topics of Białystok 2018 will be focused on matters affecting Central Eastern Europe.
Białystok 2018 will be a session for delegates. After all, they compose the majority of the session’s participants. The question we want officials to ask themselves is: “How can I make this session an unforgettable experience for delegates?” If you see yourself as an official who puts the delegates’ well-being before anything else, Białystok 2018 is the place for you. We are looking for a team of dedicated individuals who are willing to invest their time and imagination into making Białystok 2018 an extraordinary session. We believe in drawing on the strengths of the team, which means that you will be given a lot of space for implementing your ideas. Sessions like Białystok 2018 only come around once in a century. If you want to be a part of a session that puts delegates at the forefront and places a focus on Central Eastern Europe, we invite you to become a part of our team. Editor(s), Head of Jury, Vice-Presidents and Chairs We are extremely excited to invite you once again this summer! This year, the National Selection Conference of EYP Poland will be held in the city of Białystok, between the 4th and the 9th of September 2018, for officials. The Head Organiser of the session is Aleksandra Daniluk. The session President is Juho Nikko from Finland. The vision of the leadership can be found on the previous page. The session will consist of one Day of CJOJ Training, one day of Teambuilding, two days of Committee Work and two days of General Assembly. Officials are expected to arrive on the 4th of September, no later than 12 pm. There is no participation fee for officials. We are now opening the call for 3 non-chairing Vice-Presidents, 1-2 Editors, 1 Head of Jury and 12 Chairs. To apply follow these steps: 1. It is important that details like your full name, country, home National Committee, contact information and session history are complete and correct; 3.
