Call for Polish Organisers Warsaw 2020 – 93 rd International Session of the European Youth Parliament
The Warsaw 2020 neon is powered up and shining bright. Sustaining its light until next summer requires a lot of power and dedication. With this in mind, it is our greatest pleasure to open the first round of the calls for Organising Team of Warsaw 2020 - 93rd International Session of the European Youth Parliament.
ABOUT THE EVENT The 93rd International Session of the European Youth Parliament will take place in Warsaw, Poland from the 31st of July till the 9th of August 2020 and will gather around 300 participants from all around Europe. THE FUTURE IS EUROPE
With session’s theme being the “The Future is Europe”, we want all of its participants to take a moment to reflect about the times that are ahead of us and how we can shape them. To think about what we can do now while learning from the past but also remember that our current actions will impact the future that lies ahead of us. We live in a time a of rapid change, where established norms have become undone and uncertainty begins to arise. Moreover, we are starting to turn a blind eye to the positives of European values: the exchange of cultures, the idea of integration and working beyond historic partitions. Maybe the future holds different ideas for the Europe, but the one thing we can be certain of is that cooperation will still remain at its core. GIVING BACK
The idea behind Warsaw 2020 started from the very simple notion of wanting to give back. As EYPers, we receive so much from this organisation that when we realised the horizon was starting to appear in front of us, we decided that before we reach it, there is still time to leave something behind for EYP. We believe that successful self-development is not possible without constantly giving back. Through this type of a mutually beneficial relationship, both sides are able to grow. We want to make sure that the challenges offered by the Warsaw 2020 will be a formative, satisfying and fun experience for all of its participants.

WE, YOUNG EUROPEANS
EYP Poland has developed immensely since its official establishment in 2006. However, over all of these years of development and progress, our National Committee has only ever hosted one International Session in Białystok in 2007. With the growth of our NC in mind and the notion of wanting to give back to the network the idea of Warsaw 2020 was born. Warsaw 2020 will be the product of an experienced and dedicated team that will strive from the very beginning to organise a session at the highest standard that will concentrate on providing participants an empowering environment. Eastern Europe is a region where history and geopolitics have created a synergy between tradition and modernity. This session will be a great opportunity to implement better solutions that meet new requirements and unarticulated needs. For good ideas you need human interaction, conflict, argument and debate. These actions lead to innovation, which is a key ingredient in challenging already existing solutions and conventions. Warsaw, a city that was completely rebuilt after WWII, is an amazing place to experience and immerse oneself in all of the aforementioned aspects. The Organising team will strive to make it an integral part of the session, by showcasing its culture, people and beauty while also sharing its rich history, and immense progress.
APPLICANTS’ PROFILE We are looking for individuals who are committed to their responsibilities, creative, open-minded and ready to take up the challenge of organising the biggest, flagship event in our network. We want you to be able to work within the group but also take initiative when needed: voice your own ideas, plan, evaluate and execute them. Dependability, flexibility and integrity should be your second, third and fourth names. The perfect organiser should be passionate about what she/he is doing. As an Organising Team we put a strong emphasis on including and bridging experiences and skills from outside of the EYP context, as well providing you the opportunity to use them throughout this experience. You should be self-aware of what you have to offer, your capabilities and what you could teach the rest of the team. 3
THE ORGANISING TEAM STRUCTURE PARTICIPANTS
CULTURE & EVENTS
Is tasked with taking care of the session’s participants through ensuring they receive all the necessary information and support to be able to attend. It is further responsible for team specific needs, as well as the management of delegation and committee activities. Lastly, it is tasked with the academic partnerships connected to each committee.
Is responsible for the planning and execution of the additional activities that take place during the session. For the Warsaw IS this will include the Eurovillage, Polish Culture Evening, Euroconcert and Free Day cultural activities. As well, two new events: the opportunities fair (an education and job fair for the participants and local community) and giving back event (an event based on volunteering for the local community).
PR & COMMUNICATIONS
Is responsible for all the IT and design elements connected to the session, such as managing its social media and website, as well having the creative oversight over pre-session materials. The departments is also responsible for external communication with media and press. FINANCES & FUNDRAISING
Is tasked with securing the funding for the session, as well as the training events that take place before. Its portfolio also entails maintaining contact with our sponsors and partners. As well as securing in kind sponsorships and being in charge of the session’s finances throughout and after the event.
VENUES, CATERING & LOGISTICS
Is tasked with securing and coordinating the venues for the different programme elements, as well as providing meals and coffee breaks for the session’s department is planning the logistics behind transportation (shifts), material delivery and participants wellbeing needs.

CALL FOR APPLICATIONS If you feel like you’re a perfect match for our project, you’re available and ready to commit, you should follow these steps to apply: 1. Log on to the EYP Member Platform (if you do not have access or encounter any other problems with the platform, please, get in touch with support@eyp.org); 2. Update your personal profile on the platform. Please, make sure your full name, country, Home National Committee and contact information (including Skype name) are available and updated. 3. Sign up for Warsaw 2020 - 93rd International Session of the European Youth Parliament as an Organiser and fill in the text area with your answers in the application form (questions are listed below). 4. The deadline for submitting your application on the platform is Sunday, 10th November, 23:59 CET. APPLICATION QUESTIONS
1. Which department are you interested in joining and why? What kind of experience and expertise are you able to bring into the team? (max. 250 words) 2. Why do you want to keep the neon shining? What is your motivation to join the Organising Team of Warsaw 2020? (max. 250 words) Selected applicants will be invited for the second round of application process, Skype interviews. Having completed two stages, invitations to join Organising Team of Warsaw 2020 will be made. The selection panel will consist of the Head Organisers of the Session: Klara Birchley and Maciej Kryński and the leaders of respective Core Departments of Warsaw 2020.
