mediateamvision Poland’s celebration of 100 years anniversary of Polish independence marks an extremely important milestone that is very close to my heart. Events like this are something that provokes national pride of who we are and that we share a culture that we can pass onto others. Bialystok 2018 is for me something like an anniversary of its own. The session should invoke pride, provide common space and something that we will be looking back at as an event that has taught us to develop and share our stories. I strongly believe that every and each of you reading this, has something to share with others, no matter the experience. I often hear that someone thinks that they “Can’t do it, because [they] don’t have the necessary skill to do so.” but that is exactly what EYP and its Media Teams are here for. I will aim for you to get the best out of you and develop in whatever field you choose to. However, what makes this session truly special, is the first of its themes; “A session for delegates”. In the selection, the leadership will be looking for people that are willing to put their energy into making the session enjoyable for the delegates while engaging with them on a 1-on-1 level to show, that the Officials’ Team is not a group of unapproachable people, but rather a group of delegates who have just decided to take the next step. As a part of the Media Team, you will undergo some classic pre-session preparation such as Photography Trainings, Storytelling or a training on how to prepare a meaningful project properly, but also a cross-team training on stress management and planning. juryteamvision I see no better way to commemorate centenary of Polish independence than granting Jury members as much freedom of expression as possible. Formal framework of selection process shall be limited to an absolute minimum in favour of putting trust in Jury members’ experience and intuition. With carefully defined and premeditated selection criteria being the only restrain on our work, it will be entirely up to you to decide what way of assessing them makes you most comfortable and efficient. In Białystok 2018 we aim to focus on the delegates even more than usual. I want the Jury Team to contribute to that task by being the embodiment of as many skills and perks which we exercise and develop in EYP as possible. Only by keeping our perspective broad and universal, we can ensure that no potential in the individual delegates will be overlooked. Alumni with all sorts of backgrounds, experiences and skills are welcome to apply. Finally, I want Białystok 2018 to be a developing experience to you as well. Being a Jury member is a tremendous opportunity to challenge your subconsciousness and to learn to question first impressions and prejudices through discussion and critical thinking. We will strive to achieve that by conducting frequent updates and debates over our work, making sure that our judgement is reasonable and just. I believe that by sticking to the ideals expressed in these three brief points above, we will be able to create a team centred around the core of EYP values, capable of maintaining the weight of responsibility that will lie on us. Media Team, Jury We are extremely excited to invite you once again this summer! This year, the National Selection Conference of EYP Poland will be held in the city of Białystok, between the 4th and the 9th of September 2018, for officials. The Head Organiser of the session is Aleksandra Daniluk. The session President is Juho Nikko from Finland. The Editor is Adam Kraus from the Czech Republic and the Head of Jury Maciej Kuczyński from Poland. The visions for the Media Team and Jury can be found on the previous page. The session will consist of one Day of CJOJ Training, one day of Teambuilding, two days of Committee Work and two days of General Assembly. Officials are expected to arrive on the 4th of September, no later than 12 pm. There is no participation fee for officials. We are now opening the call for 1 Editorial Assistant on Photography, 12 Media Team Members, and 4 Jury Members.
