Sustainable Style

The bio-based acetate used in the latest Cocoa Mint sustainable frames is made with wood pulp from responsibly managed forests*.

What is bio-based acetate?

An eco-friendly and certified biodegradable alternative to traditional plastics, bio-based acetate is formulated with natural, non-toxic, plasticisers and either a base of cotton or wood pulp fibres. Offering similar performance characteristics to conventional plastics, bio-based acetates do not pose such a long-term toxic and physical hazard for land or sea life.

Featuring ground-breaking biodegradable injection acetate derived from renewable sources and manufactured using a vegetable origin plasticiser, the new frames deliver unrivalled quality and style.

Unlike other injection materials, the injected acetate does not require any painting or coating, rather the colours are naturally integrated inside of the material.

Not only has the manufacturing process been considered, but models are also fully biodegradable and tested to ISO standard 14852:2018, leading to a more sustainable future.
