ARHLO was born from a desire to fulfil the growing need for bold and expressive eyewear that’s accessibly priced and inclusive in its design philosophy. The collection now offers framewearers worldwide eyewear that they can trust, not only to meet their fashion needs, but also to serve a deeper social purpose.

ARHLO’s styling directive balances statement-making flourishes with uncomplicated ease to achieve an effortlessly cool aesthetic. The gender-neutral collection comprises a variety of inclusive fitting options, from petite through to larger eye sizes, longer temple lengths, keyhole bridges and flex-hinges on all models, supporting the diversity of today’s wearer needs.

Bringing powerful iconography to the brand, ARHLO’s distinctive ‘eye’ logo – the only branding to appear on each frame – unites a contemporary iteration of the letter’s ‘A’ and ‘O’.

Infusing personality and creative energy, a chartreuse fill adds a pop of colour and captures the playful and effortless ARHLO essence.

The collection’s materials portfolio is sustainable wherever possible and all frames are supplied with biodegradable demo lenses and polybags to reduce the impact of single use plastics on the environment.

Being a B-Corp verifies our sustainability mission. Moving ourselves and the optical industry forward in becoming more responsible, this exceptionally stringent code of governance ensures we balance purpose and profit by maintaining the highest environmental and social standards.

We are also one of a small number of British optical suppliers who have invested in ISO 14001 certification on top of ISO 9001, which outlines and propels our environmental management systems.

Setting it apart from regular acetate, bio-based acetate is an eco-friendly alternative, formulated with natural non-toxic plasticisers. This material offers similar performance characteristics to regular acetate but does not pose such a long-term toxic and physical hazard for land or sea life, and can be certified biodegradable.

2-3 billion frame bags are made from single use plastic each year. In line with our mission to always seek a sustainable alternative, we have committed to using biodegradable frame bags since 2018. In addition, all ARHLO frames are provided with biodegradable demo lenses.

Our frame bags and biodegradable demo lenses can both be disposed of with normal waste, as they are designed to break down in landfill quickly with less damage to the environment. The frame bags we use are tested to ISO 15985:14 and biodegrade in under five years in landfill conditions, as opposed to 200-500 years for standard plastic. Likewise, our biodegradable demo lenses are manufactured from a biodegradable AC polymer and as per our biodegradable frame bags are tested to ISO 15985:2014.
