Christmas Lights Switch-On changed to Thursday 29th November
The date for the “Switch On” of the Christmas lights in Donegal Town has been changed to Thursday 29th November 2018 at 7.30pm. The sparkling lights will create the perfect Christmas atmosphere for the Shopping Spree taking place throughout the weekend and the “Little Taste of Christmas” on Sunday 2nd December which will be showcasing produce from local businesses as well as cookery demonstrations by local award winning celebrity chefs. The young at heart can experience Santa Claus, Mickey and Minnie, face painting, and more.
New lights are planned for this year in the following areas: from the Car Park Entrance on Main Street to St Patrick’s Church and up to The Schooner Bar; on Bridge Street and on Quay Street from the 4 Lanterns to the Garda Station. Donegal Town has the reputation for being one of the best lit towns in the North West and it is hoped to be able to ensure this accolade continues. The Community Chamber are working with Donegal Town Business Focus Group to ensure that the Festive Season in Donegal Town is a great one for the whole community.
