By Margaret Gallagher The newly refurbished St Vincent de Paul thrift shop on Water Street is opening its doors this Thursday (18th) at 10am. The new look, bright modern shop has displays of ladies’, gents’ and childrens’ clothes, bed linen, curtains, shoes, bags, hats, books, toys and much more. The spacious shop area has undergone a complete overhaul and shop fit out and is packed with new arrivals after a three month break. Talking with Frank O’Donnell, President of St Patrick’s Conference of the Society of St Vincent de Paul, Donegal Town and volunteer Collette Shovlin, both spoke passionately about the newly refurbished shop. “On the 9th July contractors Liam Duffy moved in and along with Paul Doherty Architects the work progressed without delay. An Post confirms Dunkineely Post Office closure
Appeal rejected by An Post It has been confirmed that the closure of Dunkineely Post office will not be reversed, after the appeal lodged by the community was rejected by the Government appointed appeals process for Post Office closures. Speaking to The Eye, Pat the Cope Gallagher TD said, “I wish to compliment the very hard working action committee which made every effort to save the Dunkineely Post Office. They mobilised the community and lodged an excellent appeal for keeping the Post office open.”
