500 Jobs for Donegal

It has been announced that, as part of the ongoing expansion at Abbott Laboratories facility at Lurganboy outside Donegal Town, 500 new jobs will be created over the next number of years. At present Abbott are not revealing details of the jobs or exactly when they will be in place only to say that it is part of a multi-year project.

Road Closures for next 6 Months in Donegal Town

As part of the replacement of the Tirconnaill Bridge (“Iron Bridge”) in Donegal Town, the County Council have announced temporary road closures and a one-way system. From the Monday 30th July 2018 until Friday 14th December 2018 • Tirchonaill Street will be CLOSED as the bridge is removed. • NO THROUGH ROAD on New Row to facilitate the bridge removal and replacement. Access only to houses from the Old School Surgery to 25m from the Iron Bridge and also from Peter Kennedy Bridge junction to 5m from the Iron Bridge for houses and businesses. • Water Street to be ONE-WAY downhill only. • Castle Street to be ONE-WAY only towards the Castle • Tirchonaill Street to be ONE-WAY only from Castle Street to Bridge Street. To access the Post Office and other parts of Tirchonaill Street you will need to go down Water Street, past Magee’s Factory and up Tirchonaill Street. Returning you will have to go via the Mullans and new roundabout at Blas.
