By: Ariana Monclova High school is where you can reach for the stars. A senior’s favorite year of all high school and being the big dog is the final year of working hard. The experience of high school is stressing and having fun with friends and passing classes, which is the most important part of it. While growing up someone is always looking up at someone, a role model knowing what they already know what to be but years go by and dreams might change to be a better person or something challenging in life. “My dream was to be a dentist or singer,” senior Luis

Mendez said. Dreams come true only if they reach for it and work hard. Even time flies without even noticing, looking back in time when everything was so far but yet so close. Working since the day they enter to high school knowing that their dreams are few years away the path is opening for them. High school prepares students in so many ways. It’s like having a job and being there in time and not showing mad impression “Deadline and not being tardy in class,” senior Alanna Jamal said. Starting school early is like waking up for a job and not being late. Many students would listen to their friends

for some advice for being the person they not trying to be. “People don’t really matter I do what I want cause at the end of the day am making my self-happy,” Jamal said. Everyone struggles with a subject and they do there hardest on understanding. “I stress a lot In English, Spanish and college algebra,” senior Vanessa Lopez said. School see how hard seniors been working hard and making sure they gradated and not leave them behind that they end up getting into a good college or getting a scholarship, it feels great knowing hard work pays off. Not many people see them self as a great person
they one they dreamed they can become bigger than what they expected. Some of the dreams might have to crash cause something better is coming in student’s way. “Should have stayed more committed to school,” Mendez said. Since freshman year to senior it’s a long way. Learning life and watching them self reach for the stars and go get it. Being where they want to be is a tough road and great achievement paid off. Let dreams be true and all the good work they did make them stronger cause Seniors will be missed “ I actually made it through high school and I could finally say I made it,” Lopez said.
Juniors: Take note, you’re next By: Katherine Teran and Deja Calicuitt Juniors, senior year is right around the corner. Senior year isn’t as hard as they say it is. There are tips on surviving senior year, follow these steps and senior year will be easy. It’s fine to be scared but the real terror is when you graduate because its time to choose weather to go to collage or find a job. Senior year is just another step on growing up, it’s another year on choosing what and where you want to be when you graduate. Alanna Jamal, a senior at Bonanza High School, said “ The most important tip on surviving senior year is turning everything in; if you miss a day or two of school try and get all your missing work turn in.” Senior year is to prepare you for the next step in life,
“Have fun, even if it’s your senior year and you have to be focus, can can’t for get its your last year of high school. So have as much fun as you can.” -Alanna Jamal, senior growing up, it may be hard sometimes but you have to remember, nothing in life comes easy, so you have to work for it. Osvaldo Rios tip for all the juniors is “Even though it’s your last year you still have to work hard, but also have fun and go to school activities like prom or homecoming, stuff like that.” It’s going to be your last
year at school so make it fun go to all school events, even small ones like Homecoming or Sadies. Harrold Conrea, a senior at Bonanza High School say “senior year is the most important year of high school, it’s where you choose what you want to be and where you want to go. My tip for juniors is to try your best this year.”
Senior year is the hardest year because it is where you are expected to know everything and get good grades, but it’s not easy to get good grades and look for a job or collage. The older you get the harder life is, it you to you to make it easy for yourself. You may say you hate school now, but once you leave you’ll miss it. “Good luck next year. Singing his way through high schoool

By: Presley Cole and Manon Ladeyn There are many talents that can be found in the halls of a high school. Senior Gary Gutierrez, possesses one of these talents; the talent of singing. Born in Lindell, Calif., on May 19, 1999, Gutierrez has dedicated his life to singing since the age of 2 years old. Other than singing, he enjoys making music, annoying his peers and he also takes all advance placement classes. “I want someone to listen to my music and decide to live,” Gutierrez

“Do what you can and try really hard to be happy.” - Gary Gutierrez said. If he doesn’t pursue music as a career, Gutierrez plans on being an RN in the military. Registered nurses (RN’s) provide dayto-day patient care based on a holistic model that concerns itself not only with medical procedures and drug administration, but also daily hygiene, mobility and psychological and spiritual care. Other than singing, Gutierrez likes to spend time

with his closest friend Ariadna Perez. Perez is also a senior and has been friends with him for three years now. The two friends met at Johnson Middle School in the 8th grade and they plan on keeping in touch after high school. It’ll be easier for them to keep in touch due to the fact they are both going to UNLV. “I thinking it’s [Gutierrez’s passion for music] very fitting,” Perez
said. Their fondest memories together are pretty simple, “Whenever he laughs,” Perez said. They’re also very playful, “None, to get away from Gary is my plan [for the summer],” Perez said. Gary Gutierrez’s teachers also notice his accomplishments throughout his four years of high school. Two of which being Mr. Andrew Sherer, someone who inspires him to be confident and Mr. Dan Smythe, who encourages him to pursue music. “He is outgoing, driven and knows what he wants in life,” Smythe said. “Determination is what I

Gary Gutierrez hopes to travel to places with rich music. If he was given a million dollars and only had one day to live, he would buy more days to live. When asked if he had any tips to give to upcoming seniors, he advised
to, “Do what you can and try really hard to be happy.” Gary Gutierrez said the most he will miss about Bonanza, or high school in general, would be the teachers and preforming his talents. When listening to his music, Gary Gutierrez’s ultimate goal is for someone to hear it and decide to live. He currently has one song available on iTunes called “Screw You Valentine”. By: Iris Thaoxaochay On June 12th, Bonanza High School’s class of 2017, will walk up the stage and receive their diplomas that represent all their hard work. This amazing event that every student dreams of will take place at the Orleans Arena and the Bonanza staff is working to make sure everything is as it should be. Ms. Brown the assistant principal and activities supervisor is working hard with her trusty secretary and AP secretary, Ms. Johnston. Together both women consult with Mr. Kalinowski and all three run this important event. The ceremony is about recognizing the hard work the students have done and awarding them of their effort. “I like seeing the faces of the seniors, because they work so hard to get to this day so just to see how proud they are of themselves is one of the reasons why I became an educator,” Mr. Kalinowski said. All those nights reading textbooks, solving math problems and writing essays finally pays off here with this recognition. While the night is one of the rewards seniors will receive for all their hard work, it isn’t the only reward. No, the graduation ceremony is only a launching pad to the rest of the success many will face in the rest of their career and life. There are still plenty more rewards to come from all their hard work. “It’s their moment to shine,” Ms. Brown said. “Their hard work and their dedication have paid off. That day is just the beginning for the rest of their future and whatever they desire to do, they can do.” This day is not only about receiving a piece
of paper that validates their knowledge, but the ticket to many doors. With this diploma options like college, studying abroad, the workforce, and much more open up. On this last day, the staff of Bonanza High School is also here to support and send off the senior Bengals. “I just get excited seeing the students walking across and get their diplomas,” Ms. Johnston said. The accomplishment of the seniors is something everyone is proud of. All the major highlights for the students are relatively the same for the staff and teachers, like the speech. “The speeches,” Ms. Brown said. “I enjoy the speeches. It’s great to see how the kids have grown from their freshman year to their senior year. Their perspective as students is also always captivating.” The speeches are always a great way to showcase each class and it’s uniqueness. “They give some insight into their years at Bonanza that often time relate to their peers sitting out listening to them,” Mr. Kalinowski said. Traditions like the speeches, the hand shaking, and the smiles will never vanish, however with each year the ceremony has it’s own changes that make it
different and special from any other graduation before. For instance, this year instead of having the brown and gold gowns be gender specific students will get to say their farewells in the color of their choice. “We combined the two colors, where they were separate colors [before],” Ms. Johnston said. Among the two will also be those dressed in white and cords that signify the advanced honors diploma some seniors will be receiving. Whatever the color, make sure to congratulate each Bengal on their special night. With the date and place set, the wonderful trio working to make the final preparations, the caps and gowns ready and everyone excited for the ceremony it seems this night will be magical. Ms. Brown and Ms. Johnston are hard at work making sure everything runs smoothly on their side. “It’s the two of us,” Ms. Brown explained. “The counselors will clear the students, but the secretary and I make sure we have a diploma for every graduating student. We make sure there is a card so that every student has his or her name read. We put together the program with the office manager, we pick up the program, we set up the diploma covers, we set up everything.”

Everyone wants to talk about prom and homecoming, but all the high school experiences are reflected in this ceremony. This day is dedicated to each individual student. “It’s not about the teachers, the staff, or us as a school,” Mr Kalinowski said. “It’s about each of them individually and their accomplishment and achievements and what the future holds for them.” This individual recognition is apparent in the time it takes to call up everyone one by one and the involvement of the majority. One way the class always gets to represent them is by electing a senior to do a class poem. “[The] class poem represents their class as a whole,” Mr. Kalinowski said. “They also choose a senior song that most of the time the student body or that senior class votes on.” All these traditions showcase each unique spirit that’s within the class. One word of advice for those graduating this year though would be to be on time. This is a special day, make it memorable, don’t be nervous but be sure to make it run smoothly with arriving on time or even early. “Just be on time and line up accordingly,” Ms. Brown said. “That’s the most important to be on time. That always makes it run smoother, we’ve got the rest of it.” Class of 2017, celebration time is here.

The truth behind senior year Expectations vs. Reality By: Alondrah S. Ramirez It’s the final years of high school. Senior year and graduating has approached. Students believe that their final year would be a piece of cake and have nothing and have nothing to worry about. Everything will run smoothly soon. This is not necessarily true for everyone. Just like not everything works out as planned. High school doesn’t come easy to everyone, but there are always those few who do find it easy. Jordan Hickey a senior here at Bonanza High School definitely didn’t think anything was impossible in senior year. A bright student with almost all honor classes had high expectations for this year. “I expected to be making thousands by my senior year,” Hickey said “I knew I would be a champion.” Hickey didn’t let anything come between him and his expectations and aimed for success. “By my senior year I knew my grades would be amazing and
that I would be at the top of my class,” Hickey said. But like many, senior year wasn’t as easy as it was told in movies with people dancing on tables. Not having any homework and staying layback all year. Dareen Chay a senior here at bonanza high school thought it would be easy and soon found out that it really wasn’t. “My false hope was that no drama was going to happen during my senior since everyone was just trying to graduate and move on,” Dareen said. “It gets pretty overwhelming as it gets closer to graduation, people start to become careless.” Chays’ expectations for senior year were to be chilled and less stressful. “My expectation was that senior year was going to be easier,” Chay said, “Knowing that I was on track and ready to graduate, but day by day it seemed like it was getting a little tougher because teachers expected so much out of you because we are seniors.” The closer Chay got to his
senior year he realized how it was not going to be easy. “Once being in my senior year I just new that it was going to be a struggle. “ Chay said. There’s always something to look forward to though. “Even though it was the toughest year, I was looking forward to senior assemblies,” Chay said. “As well as for the senior events because that’s when I really get to spend the best times with my friends.” Chay gives a little advice to those upcoming seniors so everything runs its course swiftly. “My advice to the under classmen is that to keep pushing forward and to keep working hard,” Chay said, “Also enjoy the moments spent with your friends and teachers because senior year does go by fast like everyone says.” High school is different in everyone’s experiences. Tierney Lopez is a senior student here at Bonanza who focuses on what she wants and works and to succeed in her goals.
“My expectations of my senior year was that I thought it will be less stressful,” Lopez said. She never lost hope, because she knew everything was going to be okay. “But I knew that God would be there with me,” Lopez said, “No matter how hard or easy it will be.” Once she started her senior year she had plans to make her last the best. “I thought my senior year would be a special year and with a lot of memories,” Lopez said. “Memories that I would always remember.” Although it has been a bumpy year she never gave up. She kept her head help up high and never gave up. Senior year wont be easy, but the challenge to succeed will help pay off in the future. It’s better to give one’s full potential and work towards success, taking one step at a time and focusing is all that’s needed to succeed and for senior year to run smoothly and less like a roller coaster.

The feminist stance is divided amongst supporters Feminism is a broad term, that envolopes a diverse population, which means not everyone stands on the same grounds By: Iris Thaoxaochay Since the beginning of civilization there’s always been hierarchies and inequalities in our societies, and it wasn’t until the 20th century that women started to press for equal rights, but is the fight we fight today still for the correct ideas? Women’s March, prochoice or pro-life, wage gap and free the nipple are all feminist movements that have been happening recently. All these movements are to make men and women more equal and while most of us can agree that it’s a good movement, some of us believe it has been taken too far. Women deserve all the same rights men have, all the same jobs, same wages, same choices and opportunities. We’re all human beings and we all deserve humane treatment, but today it seems there has been a split in the movement. Some problems that women originally wanted to fix were things like wage gap, equal expression in sexuality, and more respect in the work force. What’s interesting is the
people who are more involved in feminism aren’t totally for everything happening and wouldn’t give a 100% support of the movement. Those, however, who are a little less in touch with today’s feminist movements love the idea and see nothing wrong with the mentality. It’s not debatable though, feminism has split into two branches: those who want equal rights and those who believe in female superiority. Those who believe in female dominance are no different from the patriarchal men or racists. The goal is to gain equality, not dominance and privilege. The split is very big and dominant today as we have even labeled those feminist extremist “feminazi”, making a direct comparison to the op-
pressive Nazi’s of the 1940s. Even some of those who are against feminism totally share the same ideas of even some feminists. Many women today would agree that some girls take it too far and bash men on social media or even in real life protests. Calling all men stupid, privileged, and lazy is the same as calling all women docile and weak. This aggressive approach turns some feminists away and turns men against feminism. However we should be making it a point to show that you can be a feminist and be a supporter without supporting the feminazis extreme views. It goes the other way around too, those who fully support and blindly follow feminists should be on the lookout for the extremists and even protest against those. These antagonist and obnoxious women make a bad rep for the entire campaign and real feminists hate them just as much as men do. Social media also provides a platform for all three parties (feminists for equality, feminazis, and men against feminism) to state their positions. However just like it comes with real identities, anyone can say anything and
nobody knows who is who. This problem with distinguishing is really what is slowing down the race to equality. If we knew who the extremists were we could quickly shut them down and achieve what is really equality. Sensitivity is also a problem that nobody wants to acknowledge. Sure feminism may be right for today, but for those who grew up with patriarchal ideas the movement is a threat to culture. We can’t say those who lived patriarchal lives are bad people, because that’s just who they were and the society they lived in. Judging a past person with present values is totally anachronistic. So maybe before we come barging in with our feminist values we ease into it and explain to our elders, or even peers who have been raised with old values, our points and why they should be changed. Fighting against them will only cause them to rise up more walls and go against us. So next time somebody asks you if you identify as a feminists state your stance, explain your stance, but above all make sure you understand the entire situation before you start arguing about something you don’t know.

Too tired to think of a title

By: Jessica Ross Senioritis. The disease, no matter how dedicated the student is, affects every senior. For example, those first two sentences took me about three hours to write, see my point? Symptoms of senioritis may include increased tardiness and absences, falling grades and hostility towards teachers. These symptoms may be experienced during the second semester, mostly during the fourth quarter. In general, seniors no longer care much about school. We’re all just tired. Ready for prom, grad night and then the greatest, and worst, day of every seniors life. Graduation day. Personally, a few of my grades have been dropping. I took on two jobs and I’m tired. With the end of the year approaching, I just want to nap in some of my classes. Honestly, who doesn’t want a nap? One sounds good right now. Continuing on to tardiness and absences, I’ve noticed that I’ve been doing

both in my classes. I’ve been tardy more, mostly because I want to finish my food during lunch, so I end up becoming late to my fifth period. Detention for tardies is not fun. Absences have been occurring left and right. I have not seen one of my friends in weeks. She had come to school around two days in that week. Others have completely dropped out. Yes, people have dropped out in their senior year. Outstanding. People are amazing. Failing grades can affect any of us; every high school student goes through that phase where they just no longer really care. With only a few weeks left, studying is forgotten and it causes test scores to drop. Everything goes down into a spiral. If a senior didn’t experience senioritis last quarter, congrats, you will probably get to graduate. If you messed up the entire second semester, you may not have such luck. Only a few more weeks of school and we’re all out. Gone from the six a.m. alarm clocks, projects, tardies, as-

signments, after school activities and most importantly, the school staff. Maybe I’m the only noticing the anger, but there is a lot more hostility towards teachers from Bonanza High School seniors. I get it, we’re all a bit angry and agitated, but there have been a lot more arguments with seniors and the teachers. Some teachers don’t care to give seniors a break and hand out projects and essays left and right. Obviously if the assignments build up, some of us are going to combust. I’m agitated with the constant assignments, but I’m not going to scream at a teacher about it. I’m trying to walk down on the stage for graduation, not have my diploma held for a time period. Let us move on to the one topic we all want and need. Sleep. Few seniors are not getting any kind of sleep, others are sleeping in for hours, causing all the tardies and dean detentions. Sleep deprivation has been hitting seniors hard. As we all know, procrastination is a skill we’ve come accustomed to. Up all
night until four a.m. writing an existential story for English class, and then only getting around three hours of sleep. We end up coming to school tired, cranky and bitter with a dumb story in our backpacks. Please give us a break; we’ve gone through 12 years of this. We are always going to be bitter and cranky from now on. Now over-sleeping has hit most seniors, nationwide. Sleeping through about five different alarms, having them go off 10 minutes later because of the snooze setting. Constant blaring and vibrations all being slept through. One memory I will never miss, that consistent noise of telling me, ‘Hey there, get up, got to go, you got to go go go!’ I will never miss it; it was like being waken up into a terrible nightmare. This article has taken me about seven hours to write and I’m finishing this up in the locker room. Senioritis is affecting every senior, you just have to face the fact, and you’ll be fine. All you have to do is last a few weeks until graduation. Good luck.
Don’t stress, college isn’t the only option out there Contrary to what was taught, there are other oppurtunities By: Kady Mckenzie Since the moment we stepped into school, we were told that college is the ultimate goal that everyone should strive for, but as we get older we start to see that it might not actually be for everyone. Shocking I know, but for many students college isn’t the only option and there are many factors to consider while making this huge decision. Money, jobs and alternate options are things to take into account. While in some countries, college is free, we live in America. Not only do colleges cost money, they cost an excessive amount of money. College is extremely expensive, and if you don’t have the grades for a scholarship or money to pay for it all, college debt will probably overcome you. Americans owe 1.4 trillion in student loan debt alone. It’s an epidemic and its only getting worse. Unfortunately, the U.S isn’t like other contries where college is free or cheaper. Take into account that many college graduates won’t even get jobs when they graduate and don’t even know what they want to do for sure yet. Going to college can seem like a big waste of time and money for these people. Take into account that a lot of students have to pay for a living space, books, and even a ride to get to class.
It can all just be too much for some, and that’s okay. While some colleges are cheaper, take for instance, a community college, some people tend to overlook these. Many students and aduts I’ve came across have bashed people for wanting to go to a commnity college because they’re apparently “not good enough.” I think this is absured considering that they are cheaper and more accsessable for some students. People on both sides need to step into the other sides shoes and try not to judge. Everyone has options in life and its their choice to make them. You shouldnt judge for whatever they decide to do. Elementary school prepared us for middle school,
middle school prepared us for high school and high school is supposedly preparing us for college, but there are so many more options. The military is in a lot of people’s minds and college isn’t necessarily necessary for them to go to. It’s also a really good thing to do if you don’t know what you want your career to be yet. They also offer college after a certain amount of years in the military. It can be a great job option for some, and you would be serving your country. Having a job while in high school and directly out of high school is a lot of student’s only options. Supporting family or themselves is a lot of people’s first priority, as it should be. School isn’t the only thing people have to worry about on a daily basis and a lot of people are quick to judge if you don’t go to college, but they shouldn’t. Another factor to take into consideration is the fact that some students don’t do too well in in high school and may not get accepted into a college. While this is unfortunate, it shouldn’t be consid-

However, if you want to go to college and have the grades or money for it, it’s a fantastic option. It can really give you opportunities and the knowledge for whatever you want to do in life. It can be a great thing to earn and it can give you advantages in the work world. For a lot of people, it’s a big acomplishment to graduate college or even to just get accepted into one. And that’s great. It is a great feeling to achieve something that you want so don’t let people undermine what you have done or want to do. It also does open up a lot of jobs for you, amd taht is a huge thing for some. College can really be great, so while thinking about your options, definitly think about this one. There are so many options besides college, even if college may seem right for you, it’s not right for everyone. Don’t be quick to have only one set goal in your life, take into consideration all factors. College or not, you can still make it in life.

Hawaiian food is ‘ono’ Las Vegas actually caters good Hawaiian cuisine By: Kiana Silva-Hall From Las Vegas food to local Hawaiian cuisine. Aloha Kitchen is a Hawaiian themed restaurant in Las Vegas that serves Hawaiian cuisine and food that is “ono” (sweet). They’ve been around since 1998 and have four locations, but only one has a bar and gaming inside. There is one in Henderson, Sahara and Decatur, University Square and one on Charleston. The hours and prices can vary on the location you go to. They also serve Japanese, Korean and Filipino food but are mainly known for Hawaiian cuisine. Right when someone walks in they get the feeling of being in a tropical place. Their decor has paintings of the beach and palm trees all around the room. Some locations will even have bamboo sticks coming out of the seats. The service at Sahara and Decatur is very good and it makes one feel at home in Hawai because the people are transplants. You can hear Hawaiian accents when they speak. Of course, you have to be 21 years old but while sitting in the dining area you can hear the people inside the bar singing to karaoke and having fun. Every time someone orders or speaks to the servers they always smile and laugh with you. The restaurant

itself is clean and spacious but although the lighting is a little dim. The food prepared is always fresh and no matter how crazy big the order may be they always move as fast as possible and never miss an order. Aloha kitchen also gives the option to cater. is plenty of food given. But the only complaint is that the drink is a little pricey ($1.50) and it’s only a small, average can so one wouldn’t totally agree with that price. The food doesn’t fall apart when you pick it up yet it is very easy to pick apart and it the chicken katsu isn’t at all chewy. It is definitely guaranteed to fill someone up. Overall, Aloha Kitchen is a great place to eat especially if you’re craving some Hawaiian food. The environment is positive and very enjoyable. The prices are reasonable and you definitely get your foods worth. Rating: 5/5
The fun trip to Grad Nite

Right after school around a hundred excited Bonanza High School seniors filled two large buses and headed on a nighttime adventure to Six Flags Magic Mountain in Valencia, California for Grad Nite. The park shuts down from 8p.m. until 5a.m. for students to “party in the dark.” On the drive to Magic Mountain I was so excited to go on all of the superhero rides that I had to calm myself down by watching movies like Holes and the Minion movie. There wasn’t much scenery to enjoy on the trip, since it was all deserts landscaping, so I also spent my time talking to my friend, Jonathan, about the different rides he wants to go on. Once we arrived at Magic Mountain we had to wait until 8pm to enter the park, so we got off the buses and waited outside the gates with anticipation. The park was

so big I didn’t know where to start, so I decided to get souvenirs like a hoodie, due to the fact it was nighttime and I was getting cold. I also purchased a cape, a glowing necklace and a t-shirt. My best friend Jonathan Wilkinson and I decided to go on the Wonder Woman’s Lasso of Truth ride, which I thought was extremely fun and exciting. Wonder Woman’s Lasso of Truth is an extremely large pendulum shaped ride that had my friend and I soaring through the sky like we were fighting crime 147 feet in the air. This ride starts by spinning and swinging slowly, and then it starts gaining speed, eventually going so fast that it felt like I was getting pulled backwards, weightlessly into Wonder Woman’s lasso. When we got off the ride we were so dizzy that we could barely even stand. Next, we went on to the ride The Flash Speed Force. That ride was also extremely fast and because of the way
that the ride moves in a circular motion, I felt like I was being pulled on the side of my body. This ride was my favorite out of the two rides that I went on at Magic Mountain because I actually felt like I was the Flash, since the ride was insanely fast, taking me to such a “turbo level” that everything around me was a streaky, blurry, smear of lights moving around me in a “flash.” “Jump into your seat and get ready to accelerate full tilt under everything is a streaky, blur moving so quick the centrifugal force will squeeze you right to the edge of your seat.” After those rides, I had enough excitement for one night I decided to not go on any more rides and go with Jon on the rides he wanted to go on. Instead of going on rides, I decided to do some more shopping in the gift shops and explore the rest of the park. While shopping I got my brother some souvenirs:
a cape, a frog, glasses and a hand spinner, so he would stop using mine. For dinner, I had the best pizza at the park that I have ever eaten, and it even came with a souvenir cup. After a full day of school, going on some exhilarating rides, walking around the park, filling up on delicious food and shopping I was extremely exhausted. I looked at my watch and realized that it was already almost four in the morning, so Jonathan and I headed back to the bus so we could get some sleep on the ride back to Las Vegas. When I return to Magic Mountain in the future it will be during normal daytime hours, so I will have the energy to go on more than just two rides. I plan to go on the Superman ride that was shut down at the time I wanted to ride it, along with the Joker ride and the Batman ride. I had the senior “ride” of my life, and I cannot wait to return with my family.

“Humanz,” Gorillaz’s newest album is phemnomenal

This virtual band base their music videos and band members on animated personas and cartoons, which adds this unreal and interesting feel to it. It’s not a typical sounding band, but it definitely stands out among all the other music genres. With its different instrumentals and voices, it’s bound to make anyone rock their head to the beat and tap their foot to

the rhythm. Their music is so distinct and easy to identify because it’s unique. Recently, the Gorillaz came out with a new album, labeled, “Humanz.” It has been a long time since they have released an album, but it’s worth the wait for all these amazing songs. This album is not much different from previous releases, although this one takes a new route down the futuristic road. The electronic background sounds upbeat, yet still very relaxing to hear. “Saturnz Barz,” is one of the many favorites out of their

new album. It’s so catchy and it’s amazing to hear on repeat. With a Jamaican type of feel to it and a steady rhythm, it’s bound to make anyone fall in love. This new album has definitely caught everyone’s attention. If one is looking for a different style of music, The Gorillaz is the band for them. On this album, they collaborated with some famous artists such as Pusha T, D.R.A.M. and etc. Their music is mostly dependent on a steady beat and it works so well in, “Let Me Out”,
featuring Mavis Staples and Pusha T. The rap verse goes so perfectly with all the other verses and there are various voices that add that eeriness and mellowness to the whole song. Every song on the album resembles an electronic sound, but each one has a distinct hear to it and has a whole different beat. Overall, this album was definitely worth the wait. It was so uniquely constructed and one can honestly say this release deserves a perfect score. Rating: 5/5
