Save the world,save our future

By: Deja Calicuitt Earth Day is possibly an underrated holiday, but it is quickly gaining momentum around the world. Some students at Bonanza think the earth deserves more than one day of appreciation. “Earth day is like Valentines Day,” sophomore Leilani Rios said. “We pretend to show the earth so much love and act like we do so much for it but then the rest of the time, its just another day. Like Valentine’s Day you give that person gifts and show them unconditional love but the rest of the year it doesn’t matter.” But what are students and citizens really doing to help the earth? Currently, the earth is

The North Dakota pipeline is something of a hot topic, and there have been many protests regarding that initiative. The pro to have the pipeline being made is that it would give many people jobs. People have to make a living, and they need to feed their families and put a roof over their heads. Another issue that is occuring in the world lately is the fight over global warm-

ing and pesticides. While the goverment is shutting down the notion of global warming, scientists are marching in the street to attempt to help secure their research. Sophomore Leslie Carmona does show love to the world by recycling unnecessary paper and reuses water bottles. “I think we’re dumb for making our world a trash can,” Carmona said. Her solution to saving our earth is to stop littering, stop pollution and to stop creating factories. A lot of toxic gases come out of factories and that’s destroying our ozone. The ultra violet rays from the sun are so harsh and it’s because of the hole in the ozone. If the ozone layer is completely destroyed, the world could lose sources of
oxygen. “People acknowledge that there is a day called Earth Day but they don’t really do anything for it,” Carmona said. Sophomore Alyceea Albertson thinks the amount of damage done to the earth makes it an atomic bomb waiting to go off. “It’s terrible how we treat it,” Albertson said. Finding a cleaner and effective way to save the world is becoming a top priority. Carpooling and car sharing have been popular, which lessens the need to constantly fuel up and pollute the air. Bonanza has established recycling bins to keep landfills from getting oversaturated. It’s a good chance to reuse and help earth, even if it’s not Earth Day.
Pure Aloha: The Polynesian experience

By Kiana Silva-Hall From gambling to Polynesian culture. Las Vegas hosted the 16th annual Pure Aloha festival at the Silverton April 20 to 23. Pure Aloha was a festival that brought Pacific Islander culture to Vegas. It has become a tradition for Vegas to hold this event. There was food and Polynesian music all around. Anyone was able to purchase souvenirs and on each day there was a different artists for the live entertainment. Sophomore Zaydee Shayne has attended the Pure Aloha festival and loves watching all the dances and performances. Shayne first heard about
the event last year in September from her Auntie and volunteered to work at one of the vendors. “I go with family and plan to go on all days,” Shayne said. Shayne thinks Pure Aloha brings Hawaiian culture to Las Vegas. She looks forward to Pure Aloha because she finds that you don’t find culture like that anywhere else unless you’re in Hawaii. Sophomore David Sandoval also is fond of the vendors and he has been going ever since he was 6 years old. “My mom told me about it,” Sandoval said. “I look forward to seeing all the local people from Hawaii,” Sandoval said, “I feel at home again.”
Sandoval believes that Pure Aloha brings all the Polynesian people together. “It’s a needed event for Polynesians,” Sandoval said. Sandoval finds Pure Aloha joyful and thinks it lightens everyone mood. He is impressed how they are able to make the event different every year. Sophomore Aysha Ruvalcaba dances in a group called Tevakanui. The group dances Tahitian, hula and many different types of Polynesian dances, which is her favorite thing to do. They have been given the opportunity to perform in Pure Aloha and she looks forward to it. “I don’t think I can remember when I found out but I’ve known been going
for a while,” Ruvalcaba said. Ruvalcaba looks forward, not only to dancing but also to the concerts. When at Pure Aloha, she feels like family is surrounding her. Ruvalcaba, just like Shayne and Sandoval, also thinks that Pure Aloha brings Polynesian people together. “I think it causes happiness all around,” Ruvalcaba said. She attended with people in her Tevakanui group and has performed with them all four days. Ruvalcaba practices and prepares for her dances for a long time and still gets nervous every time. As soon as she arrived she got ready to dance. Everyone who has gone has yet to be disappointed.

Looking good, feeling good
By: Rhea Colli What comes to mind when one is asked what a perfect student is? Well, one would fit the description of a studious, hard-working person with a mind fully committed to achieving successfulness. Alysah Martinez, junior at Bonanza High School, is a student with determined aspirations and a steady mindset. She is someone that is looked up upon, and being the role model she is, she possesses the traits that add to her untouchable reputation. Many would consider Martinez’s beauty to be one of her strongest traits, but this beauty has brains. Her intelligence definitely stands out among the rest. She always

“I’m really kind when you get to know me.” - Alysah Martinez puts in her best effort no matter what the situation is and overall, she is extremely tenacious and no one can bring her spirit down. Best of all, she creates this comfortable aurora around her and that reveals her pure kindness; her heartfelt grace puts a smile on anyone’s face. It is always a pleasure to converse with her.

“I’m really kind when you get to know me,” Martinez said. Her well-rounded intellect reflects upon her flawless grades. With all that hard work she puts into her education, it’s well deserved that she gets her honorable recognition. Although her intelligence is one of her biggest perks, her personality is also one of a kind. People view her as a sweetheart, someone with pure intentions. “There’s some people who don’t want to talk to her because she looks mean,” Alexis Escobar, junior at Bonanza High school and also Martinez’s best friend, said. “She’s a sweetheart and she’s unpredictable and stylish.” Martinez wants to be known and
viewed as a good person, although negative opinions are disregarded because nothing fazes her. She’s well known to most students at Bonanza High School and she’s super friendly to come up to. All in all, Alysah Martinez is a model student with a rare personality and an open mentality. One must feel lucky to associate with her. “I don’t think I’ve ever met someone so focused about their education and has remained positive through it all,” Elizabeth Carnevale, a junior, said. Everyone can agree that Alysah Martinez is one special student and is no doubt, going to be one of the successful people at this school.
Spring break experiences By: Angelica Velazquez and Nefertity Canalizo Every student looks forward to spring break after months of school without days off. Students are ready to come out of their cave. Like most students, they hang out with their friends and family. “Last year I hung out with my friend and we went cliff jumping, it was really fun,” sophomore Xavier Campa said. Teenagers experience a lot during spring break like going out and doing outrages things. “My brother did belly flops like 10 times in a row,” Campa said. Everyone has their own memories. Campa never really planned out his adventures. “It just happens day by day, live in the moment type of thing,” Campa said. Even if sometimes a person doesn’t have plans to go out with their friends, they just like the relaxation time they have for themselves. “I want to chill and have cool vibes,” Campa said. Spending time with friends or family is key to have an awesome spring break. “My friends are the reason why spring break is always fun because without them I would be spending my spring break at home, bored out of my mind,” Erik Hernandez said. One of the craziest things that Hernandez has done is he left home for three days and was just going to parties. Hernandez doesn’t really plan

his week out either. “I believe that life should be lived in the moment,” Hernandez said. He would spend around $200 because he would be going out every day. Even if it’s hard to believe Hernandez has had a bad spring break experience, he’s familiar with the boring side spring break can bring. “I was shy and scared to do anything, so all of my spring break would be spent alone, watching tv all day or doing nothing,” Hernandez said. This is one of the most exciting weeks of the school year. Festivals and relaxation; a week for spring break to celebrate no school and just having fun. Nice weather to
go swimming or if not causes some state seems to be bipolar at times. “Go swimming, and put a little sunscreen before I go outside,” Arian Villanueva said. Sunscreen is required to use while being outdoors. Planning for spring break is to save up and have that feeling when it is near and ready to just get there. People have booked their tickets to concert or any party. It’s a week were they could do anything in just one week. Students have the best experience with laughter and smiles on their face. “All my friends and I went swimming in an apartment and one of

my friend pulled down my other friends pants and it was just hilarious,” Villanueva said. Some students won’t have much money to spend on that week, but money isn’t everything to spring break “I spend zero dollars,” Crystal Reynoso said. Teens don’t really regret spending money because it was worth the fun. While students are young now, in the future when they get responsibility they will regret on not spending their life to fullest. Students wished spring break was two weeks, and hopefully it gets longer in the future. As of now, teens are experiencing things in a week.

Express yourself By: Manon Ladeyn The art program has evolved so much and it is time for some recognition. One of the art teachers on campus, Ms. Hildred Faultersack, has been involved with art since the age of four. Wanting to share her passion with the world, Faultersack became a teacher to teach young ones the true meaning of art. “Be fearless, just try,” Faultersack said. The students recognition and for them to be proud of their work is Faultersack’s ultimate goal. “I want my students to trust that they have the ability and to not be afraid of failing,” Faultersack said. The students inspiration comes from within, from the images that circulate through the mind. These images then become realistic once they are brought to life by art. Faultersack has made bringing art to life possible, with art projects to encourage students to show what their are capable of. Some of these art projects consist of a character 3D sculpture, recycled music base CD scratch, spell book and much more. The students have the chance to show off their skills and display them around the school for everyone to observe. One of the projects was, a spell book consisted of using recycled books and turning them into magic spell books. Once accomplished, these spell books were showcased in one of the orchestra concerts, the Haunted Concert.

But that is not all, the students work is also displayed all around the school: in the library, in a 3D display case in front of the school, in the hallway and many more sites on campus. “What I enjoy and find most rewarding about being an art teacher is when I see
students really excited as they are working on projects and they are really excited once it is done,” Faultersack said. Junior, Nanako Wagley moved to Las Vegas last September from Japan. Even though she did not speak a word in English, Wagley used her art to express herself. Her
love for art started at the age of five, Wagley believes that her art expresses her idea, and that many people can obtain confidence through it. With so much exotic culture Wagley has the capacity of making her artwork speak. Along with working the teachers job is to inspire, and

Wagley personally commented on Ms. Faultersack’s fashion, saying that she loved it. The teacher’s job is to inspire students and to guide them, Ms. Faultersack has accomplished them all. With her humor and crazy outfits, she definitely has brought art to the surface. “It’s a great class, you can enjoy it,” Wagley said. Senior, Stephanie Segundo also has an artistic eye, she has been drawing ever since she was in Kindergarten. Art can symbolize a number of things, but to Segundo it represents the feelings and emotions on the canvas. When creating an artwork, creativity and inspiration is the key. Segundo gets her inspiration from artists who have created wonderful pieces, like Picasso

and Da Vinci. “My goal towards art and the class is to show the school what I can do,” Segundo said. Some good ways in which students can get recognition is with the artwork displayed around the school. “I feel like it’s good because we didn’t do this before,” Segundo said. This really contributed to the education of students and also granted access for their future career. “Join the art program because it is fun and you get to be creative in your own way,” Segundo says. Junior Alyssa Martinez was once interested with art in elementary school, she then later, to be precise in eighth grade, took an art class and has ever since been drawing. “It’s hard to say what art sym-

bolizes as, to me, art symbolizes many things,” Martinez said. “It’s a beautiful way to express yourself in so many creative ways.” Martinez’s aunt was an artist, who first inspired her to get into art. “My goal is to gain more experience and more techniques so I can bet-
ter master my talent,” Martinez said. Teachers play an enormous role in students life. “My art teacher, Ms. Faultersack is such a colorful person and she inspires me to do the best art I’m capable of,” Martinez said. Overall the art program

What not to wear, prom edition

By: Jayla Griffith It’s prom season, which means stress and anxiety, but in the end it’s a beautiful and magical experience. Sometimes it can be a struggle choosing a dress, the way to style hair, the way to do makeup or even the perfect shoes to match with someone’s nails. Prom is no joke. Once someone receives a promposal, the games automatically begin. The first thing to do is brainstorm ideas, such as colors and styles. Also keep in mind of the spring season; don’t wear an orange or dark purple dress in the middle of spring. Colors that are safe are neutral colors, pastels, or light shades. It’s highly recommended not to purchase a dress with

patterns or anything too extravagant. For hair basically do anything, but up-do’s are very popular and are super cute. Tutorials can be found anywhere: Pinterest, YouTube or anything similar. Shoes should not totally match with a dress, like if it’s a pink dress, don’t have pink shoes. The go-to for shoes basically consist of simple colors like black, nude and white. If someone can’t walk in heels, then don’t bother wearing them because fashion fails aren’t a good time. Once shoes and dress are bought, its good to get nails done. Most people match their shoes and their nails because it tends to look very nice, another way to go with it is by a simple white color or a French manicure.

A major thing to really acknowledge in this routine is cleansing the face, body and keeping healthy. The most important fashion tip is hygiene. Keep skin clear by using facemasks and cleansing well. This will really help to giving the skin a beautiful glow on this special night. A few accessories that are really popular nowadays are jewelry and purses. Match a cute purse with the shoes or dress then get one. It will definitely make everything pop. Some makeup trends that are very popular now are products like highlight, contour, very natural eye shadows and lipsticks. Apply a small amount of eye shadow that matches well, a nice glow of highlight and a sculpted contour look. It will definitely make anyone
look like a goddess. It doesn’t have to be anything to extravagant either if someone isn’t big on makeup. A very important thing to know, even though it doesn’t have much to do with fashion, is that it’s good to plan ahead and schedule appointments ahead to not end up crunched on time and not have to worry about waits and nothing being available. It is very nice to dress up with a date, which is typical, but sometimes people don’t and it kind of looks off. Matching would be perfect to look good with a date. These tips are just suggestions, but if you prefer something else just make sure to not overboard with makeup or a dress. That’s so you dont end up looking like a clown.
Prom expectations
Students expect the unexpected for the night By Melissa I. Diaz From gazed stars to bright lights, to highlights and good nights. When it comes to prom, it’s all about the glamour, making memories and having fun with friends or that special someone. “I expect a slow dance and electric music, music that you can groove too,’’ sophomore Narda Banuelos said. “I expect that there’s going to be more than just the normal.” Banuelos also said that she expects the unexpected from prom. “I want the decorations to be shiny and pretty,” Banuelos said. Banuelos will go with a
group of friends.”I just want to have fun with my best friends and get all gorgeous and enjoy our night,” Banuelos said. She is taking some of her really good friends with her to prom and everyone is going to wear something similar except, Narda is bringing something different to prom.”I am going to wear a rose gold crop top with a long tight skirt and strapped heels,” Banuelos said. Sophomore Dominique Isaraq will be going to prom with his girlfriend that he has been with for almost two years. Isaraq is planning to pick up his girlfriend from her house and from there they
will take pictures in front of the strip. She’s special so this is going to be a special night for us,” Isaraq said. After they take pictures, they will be attending prom. “I expect that there’s going to be slow music for couples and music that’s lit,” Isaraq said. The music is definitely something that everyone’s going to have a different opinion on due to music having so many genres.”I just want to have fun with her on this fantastic night,” Isaraq said. Isaraq says that he is very excited and he wishes for the best night of his life. Lacey Rodgers is a senior. It is her last year at bonanza and she is making the
best of it. Lacey is going with friends to prom. Lacey is expecting the opposite and more from prom. “ I’m expecting a chocolate fountain with strawberries,” Rodgers said. Lacey is wearing a long elegant purple dress with studs and long stilettos. “ It’s going to be a great night especially with my friends,” Rodgers said. She says that after prom they’re going to Canes. “We wanted to go out after and eat together and make good memories,” Rodgers said. Lacey said that she is pumped for prom and hopes for the best.” I’m really excited and I just want to go all out for prom,” Rodgers said.

#Party like there’s no tomorrow By: Alondrah S. Ramirez
Prom. Dances. Elegancy. Movies show how it’s the most magical moment in high school. Prom can be the best part of high school or a nightmare. Things don’t always go as planned, but it’s best to work with what there is and enjoy it. When in high school, it’s fun to go from casual to a princess or prince for this night. Get suited up for one night, and make it the most memorable. Spending hundreds of dollars on clothes, shoes, make up, and hair. For world history teacher Stanley Sutton, prom was considered to be full of glitz and glamour. “I think the most exciting part is getting all jazzed up with my friends,” Sutton said. “The party itself felt short.” He had a view of an elegant layout at a hotel in a banquet hall, having beautiful décor. Sutton’s prom was luxurious, but a few mishaps occurred on the way there. Ever heard of a driver that gets fed up and kicks out their passengers? Sutton had an experience with one of these limo drivers. “Having many teenage couples in the back of the car, the limo driver dropped us back out my friends house,” Sutton said. “We ended up having to find another ride to prom.” Everyone has different prom experiences; many think prom is only a one-time thing. But not for media teacher Breanne Hubbard. She attended 10 proms in total,

starting her freshman year. Hubbard always wore a long dress and got her hair and nails done, getting all dolled up for this lovely event. Prom in San Francisco was beautiful hanging out and dining in fancy restaurants before to the main event. “It was interesting to be that feminine since I’m such a tomboy and into sports,” Hubbard said. Not everything goes according to plan, but making the most of it is what matters most. Hubbard had a change of plans and ended up going to prom in a limo with her date and some of her journalism classmates. “It was a totally different atmosphere,” Hubbard said. “I felt I could be silly and fun and be myself.” One of the beautiful views Hubbard experienced was after the prom, when she began walking around the pier with her date, which handed her his jacket like in the movies. One theme Hubbard had was in 1999 being its own theme, playing Princes’ song “Party like its 1999”. There are always some downs to great experiences like prom and one is the cost. Paying for hair, nails, pictures, tickets and dinner can be difficult. Either way the moment is what will count the most. Analiese Camacho an English teacher at Bonanza High School can definitely agree with this. “Negatives coming from prom are the expenses,” Camacho said. “Students that can’t afford it have to miss out

on that opportunity.” On the upside where there is a negative, there is a positive as well. “The excitement with hanging out with friends and getting all dressed up is great,” Camacho said, “My favorite part of high school was prom,” Camacho said. “I really liked dressing up and getting together with friends.” Accidently going to a prom of another high school wasn’t really a great time
what with not knowing those who are there but Camacho enjoyed her night anyways. “I’d love to re-do prom just so I can relive that moment once again,” Camacho said. Something that Camacho would love to re-do would have been her senior prom. Memories are golden and making the most of it in high school will be memorable. Make the most of what there is and enjoying it until the end.
High school events that are overrated: Prom! The pricey choice of going to the dance By: Jessica Ross Prom. A night where high school students dance under the moonlight with friends and lovers, but it sounds overrated to me. Weeks, even months before prom, students plan out what to wear, who to ask out, what friends to go with and so much more. On average a prom dress costs from $250 to $300 dollars. One dress, excluding every other cost like shoes, jewelry, makeup and hair will add up. An average student could spend up to $600 to $700 dollars on prom. Think of what you could do with $600 dollars. Planning everything can also be irritating. Where to go for dinner, when to go to dinner, what time to get ready, who to go with and what to do after the dance can be very stressful. Students will typically go to a nice, fancy restaurant after prom and that’s even more money. Since we’re in Las Vegas teens will probably choose somewhere on the strip or inside most casinos is where most people will go. The Yard House in Red Rock Casino and the Linq can typically cost around $20-$30, for one entree. For the complete three course meal, appetizer, entree, and dessert, a $50-$70 dollar bill, for two people. At Giada, located at The Cromwell, the restaurant is named a part of “Top 10 most romantic restaurants” by 10BEST. The prices though, seem
a bit insane to me. Giada’s lowest price item is the caponata with balsamic and toasted pine nuts for eight dollars. Some of the most expensive items would be the seafood tower, costing $86 dollars for two to three people. $150 for four to five people. For $60 dollars, one could get a sevenounce fillet. Imagine having a threecourse meal here, of all the cheapest items. The white cauliflower soup is $13 dollars, a main dish of Swiss chard rolls costs $28 dollars, with a side of roasted broccolini is an additional $11 dollars, and dessert of chocolate tiramisu for eight dollars. That’s $60 dollars, now this is for one person. For two people, a meal would be $120. One meal is a prom ticket almost tripled. Obviously not everyone is going to go out to a fancy dinner, but prom is supposed to be that one ‘special’ night. However I’m telling you, prom is one of the most overrated events in high school. Then, there’s those people who go all out and get a limousine. What would you honestly get a limousine for?

Do you not have a ride? Uber, lyft, and taxis can all get you to the event. People who get a limousine seem like those people who could flush money down the toilet and not have it financially affect them. Now I know not everyone is like that, you and your boo want it to be special, but most of the time it’s not like that. Most people do it to be dumb and wasteful. Many of the limousine’s get destroyed and dirty by the end of the night. Limousine’s can also cost around $100 dollars each hour. Minimum, one would pay at least $100 dollars. Prom is very costly, but not everyone is going to go all out. The idea that prom night is the best night in high school is idiotic. Why is that night the best? Is it the only night you can make memories with your friends? No, absolutely not. Go to a concert, for much less. Even at school, one can make memories that will last a lifetime. When you look back, in the future, to high school, you’ll also remember
memories happening at one class, not just at prom night. Memories in high school dominate prom night memories. You kind of need to be sociable to go to prom. If you’re the kind of person that doesn’t like people, like myself, you’ll probably hate being at prom. People constantly around you and grazing your arms, the thought of it is gross. Imagine the headache you’d get. Maybe it’s just me, but it seems so horrible. Why would I want to spend so much money on one night with my friends, when I could do the literally any other day, costing nothing? Because it’s a ‘fancy’ one time night, I guess, but I’m just going to stay at home and catch up on my sleep from all the stress of high school, thank you very much. Sounds like an even better night. All in all prom is just a waste, really. A high cost to be surround by people I genuinely have never liked. No, thank you.

Bonanza joins the trend of a seven-period day
The 2017-18 school year will add one extra class By: Editorial staff It’s official. Bonanza High School will now be running under a seven-class schedule, but what does that mean for us, the students? The teachers cast the vote in earlier this month, and they have decided a sevenclass period would be helpful. The biggest reason for this sudden change is the extra class works great for students who are credit deficient, meaning you can use your extra class to do credit retrieval instead of doing summer school or adult classes after senior year. So if you maybe didn’t take freshman year too seriously, this is your chance to still graduate on time. However, what does this mean for other students who don’t necessarily need credit retrieval? Well school is going to start 10 minutes earlier and 10 minutes later, and depending on the person this is either no big deal or a very inconvenient change. The new times could mean waking up earlier, more tardy for first period, a change in bus schedules, and if it

conflicts with your parents schedule you’ll have to find a new ride. The later times mean later practices for sports, sessions for clubs, less time to do homework for those AP kids, and less time in general for life outside of school. Many students already have gotten used to shutting down at 2:06 and even staring at the clock and mentally checking out ten minutes before, so this additional ten minutes can make the drag even longer. Many of us are confident this new time and schedule will not work out and they will go back to normal after a year or so. Now all of these negatives seem unnecessary for students on track and those who don’t really need another

class. It’s just another opportunity for an elective, but if there isn’t anything you really want to take it just means another mandatory class you have to sit through and pass. The time extension means more classes, more work, and for what, an extra credit you don’t need? The schedule is pretty useless for those of us who don’t need credit retrieval, and instead of helping it hurts the students who have figured out how to succeed under the current schedule. This new schedule might even throw off more students. However most of us can agree it’s nice the school is trying to help those kids who are credit deficient, we just don’t believe this regime should be forced on everyone. student’s fault? Maybe somebody should look into the curriculum enforced on students and steps they take to actually prepare us. One thing that should be kept in mind though is with these opportunities to gain more credits comes the opportunity to graduate early. More time, means more credits and that could mean earlier graduation times. It could also mean more opportunities to take a foreign language class and an elective of your choice. But it should be said that AP Chemistry and Ap Biology are a block schedule, meaning it’s going to be two periods instead of one, which is something to keep in mind if you are taking these classes. It’s safe to say that we all appreciate the gesture, but only time will tell if this new schedule will be a success or a failed attempt at helping students get on track. No matter the pros or cons,or if this new schedule is good or bad, it’s safe to say the class of 2017 are glad they are leaving right on time.

We celebrate the birth of the modern environmental movement in 1970. Earth day is all about helping our environment. There are many things you could do to help this earth, it just depends on what you choose and if it will make an effect or not. This planet has been taken for granted for many generations, yet we only get one day to celebrate it. We cut down trees to make paper, we throw away our money. Trees give us oxygen and we choose to cut it and make stuff we take for granted. We need to appreciate
this planet; mother earth gives us oxygen, water and food. One day a year is not enough to thank Mother Nature for everything. We can thank her by doing simple task. Earth day is all about giving the planet a break from all the pollution and trash. On earth day, we stop driving cars and start walking. Driving pollutes the air with toxic fumes, unless you drive an eco-friendly car. We also reduce, reuse and recycle. We reduce using water, light

There are many things you can do,
you can read, write, exercise and more. Just make sure what you do won’t affect the environment in a negative way. One event that can last you all day is your springcleaning. Earth day is a special day where we all come together and have a green thumb. We take this earth for granted all the time, so it’s nice to help out and plant a few trees and flowers.

These five TV shows will have everyone up all night binge-watching different genres of music. 1.Greys Anatomy: This is a medical drama series about a group of doctors at a hospital in Seattle, Washington. The cast members go through difficult moments and breakdowns but with the help of their family and friends they work through it and support one another. Greys Anatomy has stolen the hearts of many people around the world; as a result this show consists of 12 seasons while season 13 is still on air. This show gives the audience an idea of who is really is there in their moments of sickness and struggles. Sometimes many people say that they will be there for others but when those people

are lying in a hospital bed trying to stay alive those people they thought they counted on aren’t there, instead the people they least expected to see are the ones holding their hands and telling them that everything is going to be okay. 2. Criminal Minds: is about an elite squad of FBI profilers and how they analyze the country’s most twisted minds. For those who are interested in working in the law enforcement once they’re older, Criminal Minds shows the viewers what it’s like to experience working with sick minded people. The human mind is able to manipulate law authorities so easily making it hard to catch criminals, but what’s so cool about profilers is that they know their manipulations and it is easy for them to catch them even in the most crowded places. 3. The main characters names are Michael Scott, Jim Halpert, Pam Beesly, Angela Martin and many more cast members. 4. The Walking Dead: is a zombie filled drama series that follows Daryl Dixon on his journey to find humanity after a zombie apocalypse occurs in his town. After he finds friends and family, he comes upon challenges that decide who lives and who dies. This show helps those who believe in zombies or in doomsday to help them prepare for that upcoming
day. The Walking Dead shows the audience how sometimes they must sacrifice themselves in order to save others. 5.The 100: deals with a 100 juvenile prisoners who are sent to Earth to examine if it is possible that human life exist. They end up receiving no harm one they arrive on Earth but they do realize that they are not alone. This show teaches the viewers how to adapt to a new environment when there is danger. Many people die and those who are left learn who there enemies are and how to hunt for food and they take care of each other at their best ability. So the next time you can’t fall asleep, check out one of these shows. You might not be able to fall asleep, but at least you can make good use of your insomnia and have something to talk about on your Snapchat.

Sweet mellow sounds, beautiful vocals, a constant need to listen to more, all of which perfectly describe the incredible new album of the Cold War Kids, L.A. Divine Hailing from the one and only Long Beach, they formed in 2004 with the band members being Nathan Willett (vocals, piano and guitar), Matt Maust (bass guitar), David Quon (guitar and backing vocals), Matthew Schwartz (backing vocals, keyboards and piano, percussion, guitar), Joe Plummer (drums and percussion). Dann Gallucci (guitar, keyboards, percussion), Matt Aveiro (drums, percussion), and Jonnie Russell (guitar, vocals, piano, keyboards and percussion). Originally paired up with the label Monarchy music they later, in 2006, signed to Downtown/V2 with their debut album Robbers and Cowards, the rest is history. Their new album is one of the greatest ones ever, not just being nice. The overall sound is very soulful, for lack of a better word. The album can best be characterized as a whole bunch of colors were out and creating a golden sound that comes straight form the heart, something unheard of before. One of their songs, “Love is mystical” has a really deep tone, similar to the feeling of longing. Love is mystical is definitely one of the best sounding ones of the album. derful one at that. The photo on the album cover is really great, the pinkish purple tones with the graffiti and the palm tree, totally fits with that fun, satisfying vibe without being too corny. The whole theme of the cover really matches the easygoing vibe of the album.
The entire album feels, exuberant, if that makes any sense. The vibe of the album really shows the soul expressing feelings people sometimes too scared to acknowledge for ourselves, though we should keep some feelings inside the head. This album is, for a lack of a better word, awesome. The soothing, full sound, and the fun and energetic sound really give their music character, of which can be found nowhere else but their album. These albums are totally awesome and totally recommend their music to anyone looking for a great band to listen to. Rating: 5/5

Local restaurant has some of the best greek food around By: Michael Flynn Authentic Greek food is hard to come by in Las Vegas at good prices. There are so many places that claim to have good food, but it is either subpar or it is to get without paying too much money. Yassou Greek Cafe, located at 7871 Charleston Blvd., is an exception to this. The food is well priced and it tastes great. With the gyro plate being $9.19, the food is on the cheaper end of the spectrum. Combined with My Big Fat Gyro being $6.69, the food is well priced, with the price fitting the bill well.

The atmosphere within the restaurant is pleasant, with the seating on the porch being well shaded as well as roomy. The smell that hits you when you first walk in makes you want to stick around. The porch seating outside is comfortable on a day in spring, and with the stone pillars, it gives the restaurant a very authentic. The seating is comfortable, and feels like a garden in Greece. When the food arrives to your table, you will notice at first that it smells and looks good. The Gyro plate has a nice salad and rice that is presented in a beautiful way.

Despite the disposable plate, it still fits well with the area it is in. It is surprisingly clean for it being finger food. The food also tastes, with the rice being light. The salad is tasty and crisp, with dressing on the side, and Feta cheese broken up over the top of the salad. The pita bread adds a layer of light and fluffy, with the lamb meat not only being well seasoned but flame broiled, making the meat flavorful as well a delicious. Combining this with a sauce of onion, garlic, sour cream and Cilantro, the food pops with flavor, while still being mostly light, so you
won’t be uncomfortably full when you are done. A great light meal if you are still planning on walking around after, though not a great meal for big activities. As a Greek restaurant, Yassou knocks it out of the park in taste as well as price. The scenery it has makes it look, smell, and taste Greek. The style of the restaurant is beautiful, and graceful without being overdone. Yassou Greek Cafe It is perfect for a group of friends and a formal meal alike, and is Great to go to during the spring and summer. Rating: 5/5
