SkiClub
Many people's favorite time of the year has finally arrived, skiing and snowboarding!HoosacValleyHighSchool opens up their Ski Club to 7-12th grade students. They meet once a week for about 2 months to enjoy the mountains. Mr. Sniezek helps run the ski club here at Hoosac and was asked a few questions about it. We started by talking about how the first session was overall. He replied by talking about how stressful the first session always is, especially because you have to get everyone set up with rentals and lessons if they need them before really getting onto the slopes. “But in the end it was good” Sniezek said that there was a great amount of snow on the mountain and that it was well taken care of.Wemovedontotalkingaboutthecrew that he has this year, “It’s a really good crew.Theyareallwellbehavedandreally polite” The last question that I asked him was, “What’s something that you would tellsomebodywho'sthinkingofjoiningSki Club?”Herespondedbysaying,“Ifyoujoin the ski club you’ll have a really good time!”
Mentoring
byGracelynWright
The senior mentors worked closely with the 8th grade mentees, guiding them through various activities throughout the mentoring program. Together, the mentees completed the surveys while their mentor guided them through it Both mentors and mentees got assigned fun activities that required a lot of teamwork and good communication skills. Then there was a fun “field day” where we all got a barbeque cookout outside for lunch, with a game of kickball; Mentors VS Mentees At the end of the day the mentors got together to pass out different ice cream choices for thementees.
