for their tremendous efforts over the last 9 months. Whilst many of us are isolating and social distancing to limit contact, NHS staff, the team at the chemist and our amazing colleagues at the surgery have been extremely busy helping those in most need throughout the pandemic. We are very grateful for their efforts and for their commitment to helping Petworth’s residents throughout the pandemic.

Christmas event

Due to the pandemic, the Town Council has taken the decision to cancel this year’s christmas event which is a real shame as it is a day which is enjoyed by many. We are working closely with the Petworth Business Association and local community groups to ensure there is a festive feel in the town during December, despite the cancellation of the Christmas Event, which we hope Petworth’s residents will enjoy. We would also encourage residents to shop locally this Christmas, to avoid unnecessary travel and to support our local businesses during such a difficult time.

Farmers Market Our Farmers Market has been back up and running since the summer, taking place in the car park which better enables social distancing. Upcoming markets take place on Saturday 28th November and Saturday 19th December. With a number of new stalls joining the Farmers Market in recent months, we

would encourage residents to visit the market for your essential items and support the stall holders, all of whom produce their goods within a 40 mile radius of the town.

Small grants programme The Town Council has a small grants programme which can be accessed by charities and community groups to contribute to the costs of projects and special events. We would encourage charities and community groups to review details of the grant which are available on our website, to assist with your efforts particularly as we all try to find our way through this second wave of Covid-19.
