Jeff Gross' New Role The Department of Ophthalmology at the University of Pittsburgh is losing a key figure. Jeffrey Gross, PhD, held several titles during his Pittsburgh tenure: the E. Ronald Salvitti Chair in Ophthalmology Research, Professor of Ophthalmology and Developmental Biology, Vice Chair and Director of Research, and Director of the Louis J. Fox Center for Vision Restoration. But he could not pass up the chance to be Chair of the Department of Molecular Biosciences at the University of Texas at Austin, where he worked before moving to Pittsburgh. Read more
Jonas T. Johnson MD Survivorship Sustainability Fund The Eye & Ear Foundation has created a new fund to honor Dr. Jonas Johnson as he steps down as Chairman of the Department of Otolaryngology. He is not retiring, as he will continue to lead the Survivorship program with Marci Nilsen. PhD. Read More

Susan Whitney, Award Recipient More than one achievement unlocked. Susan Whitney, DPT, PhD, NCS, ATC, FAPTA, CoDirector and Professor, Physical Therapy Post-Professional MS Program at the University of Pittsburgh, received the prestigious Hallpike-Nyléen Award at the 2022 International Bárány Society meeting in Madrid, Spain for her lifetime achievements in vestibular clinical research.
