RETHINKING PLASTICS 2030.

In pursuit of a more sustainable product media industry, our objective is to minimise the environmental impact throughout the entire supply chain. With our long-term strategy “Rethinking Plastics 2030”, we are committed to phasing out all virgin fossil-based plastics from our collection by 2030. We are changing how we design, use and reuse plastics. There are 3 actions we must take:

INNOVATE, CIRCULATE AND ELIMINATE (I.C.E.) Innovate, by replacing virgin fossil-based plastics with bio-based plastics and by looking for new materials.

Circulate, by using recycled materials, but also by reusing, repairing and rethinking our business models and take-back systems.

Eliminate, by removing virgin fossil-based plastic from product and packaging.

As we value sustainability, we’re going all in to reduce our ecological footprint.

And we are getting there. Recently EcoVadis has awarded our work with a Platinum rating, placing PF Concept in the top 1% of businesses in our market for their performance in the field of corporate social responsibility and sustainable business operations.

Turning plastic waste into building blocks for schools.

PF Concept supports UNICEF the Netherlands.

We have initiated a multi-year partnership with UNICEF the Netherlands to help fund their ‘Plastic Bricks’ program. As part of our long-term strategy, ‘Rethinking Plastics 2030’, we are providing funding for the program which converts plastic waste into building blocks for classrooms and schools while providing fair remuneration for plastic collection and training in entrepreneurship.

Today, this program has established over 284 classrooms and over 14,200 children have gained access to education.

Starting from the very origin of an item’s fabric, this innovative solution brings unprecedented transparency to the supply chain. By embedding a physical tracer into sustainable raw materials. This tracer can be authenticated with the Aware™ hand scanner from every tier of the supply chain anywhere, anytime. The blockchain platform securely records production information, creating a digital replica of the material’s journey, ensuring accurate data for recycling processes. Digital tokens, the Aware™ Crypto TCs™, validate every step, upholding the integrity of the supply chain information. The user-friendly Virtual ID acts as a digital product passport for consumers and simplifies making informed choices.

UNDYED These products are made from ‘Undyed’ fabric. No dyes, water or chemicals are needed in this innovative process, which means it has less negative impact on our planet. Starting with textile waste from manufacturers and traders, the colour of the waste dictates the final hue. After manual sorting and quality checks, the waste is recycled into cotton fiber without chemicals. Blended with other recycled fibers, like polyester, viscose, acrylic, EcoVera™, or Tencel™, the resulting yarn is strong and high-quality. Through careful processing, the material is formed and spun into the final, more sustainable coloured yarn.

OUR GRS CERTIFIED COLLECTION GRS certified products are made from verified recycled materials, with a traceable supply chain from the original source. To be GRS certified, a product must contain at least 50% recycled materials. Together with our printing facility in Poland, we have obtained the Global Recycled Standard certification for a multitude of our printed products, including clothing and bags.
