WHAT IS THE LOW THRESHOLD DRUG AND ALCOHOL SERVICE? Low Threshold takes a harm reduction approach to helping people. This means using an approach that utilises knowledge, skills, advice and supports that will reduce the harm the person is doing to themselves, or others, through their drug and/or alcohol use.

WHERE DOES THE SERVICE COVER? Our office is situated in Lurgan, and we extend our services throughout the Southern Trust area with outreach support. For more details, including our precise address, you can find it at the back of this leaflet

WHAT DOES LOW THRESHOLD MEAN? A Low Threshold Drug and Alcohol Service makes it easy for people to get help with drug and alcohol issues. It's open to everyone and doesn't have strict rules.

The focus is on helping without making things difficult, offering support and advice without judging.

The goal is to meet people where they are and make it simple for them to ask for help.

HOW WILL THE TEAM SUPPORT ME? Our team is here to support everyone, with only a few simple criteria for access. Even though we don't insist on counselling or medical assistance, we're open to offering these options if you're interested.

Think of our low threshold services as a starting point for your journey towards treatment. We provide various forms of support—physical, social, and psychological—to minimise harm from drugs or alcohol. Whether you need regular assistance or occasional check-ins, our team is flexible to meet your individual needs.

You can receive support through outreach or drop-in services, making it convenient for you. Some individuals choose to engage with our services regularly, while others may reach out only during challenging times.

HOW CAN I ACCESS THIS SERVICE? We're here to support you either at your home or a place where you feel at ease. You don't have to visit our office; we're more than happy to bring our services to wherever you're comfortable.
