MAY2019 2019 March A WORD FROM PATRICK...

MACKAY...

Now that Easter is behind us (I am sure we are all well recharged), we only have 2 months till the end of the 2019 Financial Year. At present we are behind on our forecast sales budget by approximately 9% however we are slightly above last year sales. With the extra staff we have put on over the past 10 Months and with expanding our workshop facilities in both Mackay and Perth, the results of these investments will show in the coming months. We need to continue to concentrate on the sale of our existing and Aftermarket stock to increase sales revenue. I am confident that in the last 2 months of trading for 2018/2019 we will be able to considerably reduce the gap from budget to actual. I take this opportunity to welcome all new employees to our Company and I look forward to catching up with you all in the next few months. Feedback from Mackay, Perth, Hunter Valley and Gunnedah is that all branches are busy with enquiries and I am confident this will continue. I am travelling to Perth in June and Mackay sometime after that. At Head Office the ongoing repairs and maintenance to the stormwater pipe continues. Construction of additional offices for staff, predominantly the purchasing department, has commenced and is expected to be completed by the end of June. Wauchope Staff will have noticed that the subdivision on the Western corner of Sancrox and Frogs Roads is just about complete and Port Macquarie Hastings Council has in principle approved these works. We are expecting registration of the plan in June/July and following this we will see some occupants start activity on their blocks. Once the Elections are over hopefully confidence will return and give some encouragement for industry to reinvest. Stay Safe. PC

April was another busy month for Mackay with sales ticking over. Well done to all. Some good orders received already to kick this month along to a good start. Everyone is back on deck from the Easter and extended break and back into the swing of things. Our flu shots have been completed for the staff involved. April staff movements in our warehouse, Cameron Oelofsen left us to complete his electrical apprenticeship at Nebo. We welcome Jacob Bovey to Expressway Spares Mackay as Cameron’s replacement. A reminder that Monday May 6th is Labour Day holiday in Queensland. RH

PERTH... Hello from Perth. April was a big month with our workshop starting its first official jobs, Albina Boin moving into purchasing for the workshop and Daniel and Claire Finch welcoming their new baby boy Jesse. On the Sales front April was successful and customer enquiries are continuing to increase with a good volume of forward orders already in May. The mining maintenance demands are strong and I feel will continue to ramp up over the next several years. FMG and BHP are both moving forward with new mines to increase production and their longevity while Mount Gibson’s Koolan Island operation delivering its first Iron Ore shipment since closing down in 2012 from a sea wall breach flooding the pit. Big thanks this month to PM for the Hydraulic Cylinder Bench construction, 8 ton of muscle and well designed. If you have any contacts in the West let them know we are looking for component mechanics. PA

HUNTER VALLEY... We hope you all had a great break over Easter and Anzac Day and happy to see everyone back on deck for a busy May. The Hunter Branch is ticking along nicely, with some large contracts secured for the next 2-3 years. There are some works currently going on with the floors being painted so please be patient and mindful of this hazard. PM

GUNNEDAH... Gunnedah has had another great month with strong enquiries from the mining sector. Warren and Brendan have been kept busy with some larger component orders from mining customers. Gunnedah Show was last weekend and Expressway Spares sponsored a display by Kate Clancy Horsemanship which was a huge success. WH
