A Delicious Dive Into Eclecticism

Imagine a table of artfully prepared dishes with the word eclectic in mind‌add to your palatable discovery, the creativity and inspiration awakened by perusing a boutique market or rustic farm. Open your eyes, and experience the delightful connections of beautiful flavors via Chef Aris Walker, founder of The Eclectic Table.

The artistry of Chef Aris has been displayed diversely throughout Fitzgerald, Georgia and beyond. An innovative and visual artist, Chef Aris is a graphic designer by trade whose interest in culinary arts was piqued during her 2004 pregnancy while viewing the Martha Stewart Show. Chef Aris shares, “ I know she's not a chef, but the

ability to entertain is what I fell in love with…how she could take crafting and combine it with food.” The chef and graphic artist is also a creator of custom center pieces. The indelibly talented artist temporarily served as the primary decorator, graphic artist and chef until being the sole source was no longer an option – food became the main focus while contracting other event services became the better business approach for The Eclectic Table events. Chef Aris explained, “Four years ago I decided to just stop decorating and focus on the food, I had to choose. I could hire someone to decorate and I could still do the invitations.” The formula proved to be an authentic caveat and pivotal in building a team that serves as an extension of The Eclectic experience. The time expensed was also reflective and uniquely cultivated the relationship with her son who functions as a sous chef. The young apprentice prepares and breaks down stations within expectations and monitors food levels. “He has been helping me for two years. I had to make sure this is what he wanted to do.” The family affair expands as her husband is a trusted palatal shopper. Ever protective of her carefully plated dishes, Chef Aris’ mate is one of two individuals that is relegated with purchasing key ingredients. Who is the other trusted source? Undoubtedly, the chef!

The indulgence of time captured artistry rests with Chef Aris.

Since the 1990’s, she has continued a series of blotters filled with creative ideas for dishes inspired by a walk into boutique styled grocery stores, fresh markets or farms. She describes with great enthusiasm, the influence of a market with clean lines and organization that allows for cerebral sapidity. “My mind goes into 1,000 different directions and

starts creating these images...vivid images of what I want to create just by being in that environment.” The kindling of ingenuity of flavor to plating and the evolution of a dish produces the broad, bold blends that raises flavor profiles. The commitment to satisfaction is displayed in The Eclectic Table’s core values as stated on their website.

The site, featuring a bevy of menu variations to include Chef’s chicken portobello signature dish, also lends to the future aspirations: a commercial kitchen for tastings, on site cooking classes or a pop-up styled event space with free range. “This is the definition of Eclectic – one week we’ll host a cooking class and the next week(end) a Mexican food themed event.” The Eclectic Table seeks to engage the public with an expansive menu that provides selections for personalization. Their approach, “Your menus are only limited by your imagination!” This mantra further invokes a cohesive method indicative of The Eclectic Table aiming to provide a custom experience to working and sundry clientèle alike through the visionary cuisine of Chef Aris.

Introducing the new Face Of South Georgia Fashion Week, Miss Asia Davis! Asia is a model, licensed cosmetologist and brow expert for Benefits. Born and raised in Albany, Asia has always had a love for fashion and knew early on that she wanted to be a model. She started her modeling career 10 years ago with the Albany Fashion Board where she learned how to walk a runway and how to make the pieces come alive. Knowing that it would take passion and determination to meet her ultimate goal, she focused more of her attention on her love for fashion and modeling.

Since that first experience, Asia has continued to pursue the fashion and beauty industry. She attended Albany Tech where she became a licensed cosmetologist and she began working with South Georgia Fashion Week. This year Asia was crowned the new "Face Of South Georgia". As the Face, she will represent SGFW in their promotional and community efforts throughout the Southeastern region. In addition, she is also a member of Exposure Studio Models, Albany's premier modeling troupe founded by Charlie Hill-Henderson.

The 229 Is Making Big Waves In Music

This is one wave you don’t want to miss! Adam “Jeus” Inyang & Belinda Vickerson (of Belinda V. Photography) have teamed up to bring you the 229 New Wave! There’s so much talent in the 229 and we want to help Expose it! Our mission is to restructure the regional music scene, making it competitive, exciting, and rewarding. We’re doing this by providing a multi-faceted outreach platform, that finds and catapults local talent to the forefront of the South Georgia Rap/Hip-Hop scene.

The 229 New Wave will be published in Exposure the Magazine and distributed both online @ exposurethemag.com and print. 7 artists from the 229 area will be named #229NewWave artists and will grace the cover of the magazine as well as many other rewards:
