EDITORIAL
AN EXCEPTIONAL 2025 SEASON LONGINES
CELEBRATES EQUESTRIAN EXCELLENCE ACROSS SEVENTEEN MAGNIFICENT DESTINATIONS.
As the Title Partner, Official Timekeeper, and Official Watch of the Longines Global Champions Tour, Longines witnessed another extraordinary year of equestrian excellence as the world’s finest riders and horses competed across a calendar of prestigious venues. Throughout the season, from February’s opening in Doha to November’s climactic playoffs in Prague, Longines accompanied the sport’s elite through 17 destinations spanning four continents. The Swiss watchmaker’s unwavering commitment to equestrian sport was reflected not only in its precise timekeeping but also in its continued support of the Longines Global Champions Tour Grand Prix at each spectacular venue.
This remarkable journey commenced at Doha’s distinguished Al Shaqab Equestrian Centre, where elite combinations set the standard for what would prove to be an unforgettable season. The tour then travelled to Mexico City and Shanghai, where the world’s finest athletes delivered performances of extraordinary quality and precision.
The European leg commenced in magnificent fashion in Madrid, where Longines, as the Official Timekeeper of the event, ensured every crucial second was captured with unparalleled precision. The tour’s enhanced presence in France and along the French Riviera brought more glamour to the 2025 season, with stops in Paris, Cannes and St Tropez showcasing the very best of show jumping against breathtaking backdrops on the Seine and the Mediterranean. This section of the tour culminated in Monaco, where the legendary Port Hercule once again provided its spectacular setting for the Grand Prix. During this prestigious leg, Longines reaffirmed its support for the showjumping stars of tomorrow by celebrating the victory of Team Paneraj & Partner Estate at the Longines Pro-Am Cup. This trial allows an amateur and professional rider to compete together for the coveted title, with a focus on speed and agility.
The championship race continued its global journey through celebrated destinations, including Rome, Rabat, London’s historic Royal Hospital Chelsea and exciting new venues in New York and Vienna. At the events in Valkenswaard and Riesenbeck, Longines was proud to highlight its brand-new model, the Longines Spirit Zulu Time 1925 - a timepiece that connects a legacy of horological innovation with the contemporary needs of global travellers.
From the New York stage until the end of the season, the Swiss watch brand also introduced a model from the redesigned PrimaLuna collection. This refined timepiece speaks to those who value genuine elegance born of impeccable craftsmanship. Embodying tradition, elegance, and performance, it resonates not only with equestrians and enthusiasts but all who appreciate timeless design and exceptional artistry.
After months of intense competition, the Longines Global Champions Tour reached its crescendo with the Finals in Riyadh. The Saudi Arabian capital provided a fitting stage for the penultimate chapter of the season, where the world’s finest combinations competed for crucial championship points and the honour of securing their positions in the ultimate showdown.
The season concluded with the spectacular Global Champions Playoffs in Prague, where the year’s most accomplished riders gathered for the ultimate test of equestrian excellence.

DEBORAH MAYER
“It’s an amazing start to the 2025 championship, and winning two years in a row is outstanding. As Jan rightfully said, the round was extremely difficult, with no double clears. To have the honor of standing here with two fantastic teams - Cannes Stars and Monaco Comets - both on the podium in the opening round is exceptional, and I’m extremely proud.”

“With 17 teams competing in GCL this year, the level of the sport is extremely high. Despite today’s difficult courses, round two was really serious jumping. For the Cannes Stars Powered by Iron Dames to win back-to-back is an incredible achievement, and I want to congratulate both the team and Deborah. Additionally, seeing the Monaco Comets - also powered by Iron Dames - reach the podium as a brand-new team is remarkable.”

I’m just so incredibly proud of her today and thank you to the team for this incredible event here in Doha!”

SPAIN 16 - 18 MAY 2025
The best show jumpers in the world descended on the Spanish capital for a scintillating weekend of top sport. The beautiful grass arena at the prestigious Club de Campo Villa de Madrid was the perfect stage for the fourth showdown of 2025. Spanish fans filled the grandstands and lawns creating a thrilling atmosphere. Despite high hopes for the home team Madrid In Motion Presented by Marqués de Riscal in the GCL, it was to be Valkenswaard United’s day - repeating their 2024 success - after a heart-stopping duel with Shanghai Swans. It is the only indoor show we have in the season which makes it even more special, and the LGCT Super Grand Prix on Saturday night there is super exciting.”

The beating heart of the Longines Global Champions Tour pulsated with anticipation for the 10th stage of the LGCT and GCL Championship races in Valkenswaard. “Our goal has always been to deliver excellence in all aspects of our circuit and Longines Tops International Arena has evolved to offer the highest quality facilities for riders, horses, guests, sponsors, media and our wonderful loyal fans.”
JAN TOPS

“After many years of loyal dedication, today we say goodbye to a man who has become a familiar face to us all: Frederik van Beek. Well… say Frederik in Valkenswaard, and people might look a bit puzzled. But say Hib, and everyone immediately knows who you mean. The man in a suit, with that signature smile and – during the prize-givings – of course, the bowler hat. A true fixture at Tops International Arena. Dear Hib, on behalf of all of us: Hats off – thank you so much for everything. We’ll miss you, but you’ll always be part of the Tops family.”
