The 2025 Longines Global Champions Tour of Ramatuelle / St-Tropez is the perfect occasion to present the models of the Longines Conquest collection. These automatic watches combine sporty elegance with robustness for everyday use. Available in a range of sizes, colours and materials, these timepieces effortlessly adapt to any occasion.

THE EVERY DAY WATCH

Elegance isn’t reserved for special occasions. The ultimate every day watch, Conquest says it loud and clear. An evocation of daring and of creative spirit, the collection was the first Longines watch line to have its name protected, in 1954, by the Swiss Federal Institute of Intellectual Property (IPI). Over time, the Conquest line has evolved in terms of design and technology, while remaining true to its original spirit, a blend of boldness, timelessness, and sporty elegance.

The 34 mm three-hand versions offer a choice of dial colours, including blue, pink and green. Day or night, in trainers or heels, these models are suitable for any setting or activity. Elegant and understated, the dial has external snailing that makes the colour more vibrant and intense. It features eleven applied silvered hour markers and a date aperture at 6 o’clock. The hour markers at 3, 9 and 12 o’clock, coated with Super-LumiNova®, like the polished

rhodium-plated hour and minute hands, offer optimum legibility. To fit all wrists, the Conquest three-hand model is also available with 30 mm and 38 mm steel or diamond-set steel cases. The 42mm Conquest chronograph has also been expanded with the introduction of new strap options and dials.

THE ULTIMATE INDIVIDUAL CHALLENGE

The 2025 Longines Global Champions Tour launches the pinnacle of individual show jumping competition, spanning prestigious destinations worldwide, culminating in the final event of the year — the GC Prague Playoffs, now established as a landmark in the equestrian calendar.

Horses and riders are tested to their limits on intricate courses, in diverse arenas, and under the pressure of fierce competition. The tour brings together the world’s best equine and human athletes across Asia, Europe, the Americas, and the Middle East, beginning in Doha and travelling to iconic venues such as Mexico City, Monaco, Paris, Shanghai and more.

The much-anticipated Longines Global Champions Tour title, won by Max Kühner in 2024, is back up for grabs. Meanwhile, the thrilling pursuit of the coveted Golden Tickets continues, with only 1 available for qualification per event into the prestigious Longines Global Champions Tour Super Grand Prix at the GC Playoffs in November. These tickets are awarded to winners of the LGCT Grand Prix classes at each tour stop.

At every event, the LGCT Grand Prix takes centre stage, featuring challenging 1.60m courses. Riders must carefully select horses best suited for each unique location. Only the top 40 combinations qualify for the LGCT Grand Prix through a 5* class, with valuable ranking points and prize money on the line. Competitors accumulate points throughout the year, with each rider’s best eight results contributing to their final championship ranking.

The stakes are higher than ever, as every LGCT Grand Prix victory secures a Golden Ticket for the LGCT Super Grand Prix, adding an extra layer of excitement to the series. But first all eyes will be on Riyadh as the regular season concludes with the crowning of the Champion of Champions for 2025, in what promises to be a breathtaking final.

SHOW JUMPING’S GREATEST TEAM CHALLENGE

The 2025 GCL season sets the stage for electrifying competition, with elite teams battling across a thrilling season long championship race, culminating in the highly anticipated GC Prague Playoffs.

Team Owners and Managers have meticulously crafted their strategies for this high-stakes season, where precision and teamwork are key. Maintaining its thrilling format, both Round 1 and Round 2 take place on the same day, with no drop score, ensuring every round counts toward the final result.

Since its inception in 2016, the GCL has revolutionised the sport, uniting global teams and promoting the next generation of talent through the inclusion of at least one U25 rider per team.

At each event, two rounds determine the standings: Round 1, a CSI 5* 1.55m class, and Round 2, a CSI 5* 1.60m challenge, with penalties from Round 1 carried over to intensify the competition.

This streamlined format captivates audiences worldwide, combining strategy, speed, and skill. Teams earn points throughout the season, with the top four post-championship automatically advancing to the GCL Super Cup Semi-Finals at

the GC Playoffs. This coveted fast track allows these teams to bypass the knockout Quarter-Finals, preserving their horses’ energy for the decisive rounds.

QUICK FACTS:

Each team fields three riders per event, with two competing in each round.

• Penalties from Round 1 determine the starting order for Round 2.

The stage winners are the team with the fewest combined penalties and the fastest Round 2 time.

The GC Playoffs feature three knockout rounds: Quarter-Final, Semi-Final, and Final.

• The team ranked 17th on the overall season championship standings will not qualify for the GC Prague Playoffs

A seasoned French rider, Grégory Cottard has built a strong GCL résumé with powerful performances for the Monaco Aces in previous seasons. Known for his precise riding and cool demeanor, Cottard played a pivotal role in several of the team’s top-ten finishes in 2024. With a strong connection to his horses and excellent form, he remains a reliable anchor for the team.

Portuguese star Duarte Seabra has been one of the breakout GCL riders in recent years, earning a reputation for producing clear rounds in high-stakes scenarios. In 2024, he helped the Monaco Aces secure strong mid-season results, including faultless efforts in major venues. His bold, forward style and partnership with his horses make him a key rider to watch in 2025 as he continues to establish himself as a GCL mainstay.

The Riviera series roared into action at Ramatuelle, St. Tropez for the 6th leg of the LGCT and GCL circuit. Launching several glittering shows by the Mediterranean Sea, the breathtaking LGCT event was infused with sophistication, culinary delights and the very best in show jumping. The resort of Ramatuelle, St. Tropez basked in glorious sunshine and a stylish crowd enjoyed fabulous hospitality close to the turquoise waters at Pampelonne Beach. Girl power shone brightly in the GCL as allfemale team Cannes Stars Powered by Iron Dames continued their sensational winning streak beating the powerhouse teams of Madrid in Motion and Stockholm Hearts powered by H&M We Love Horses.

It was max horsepower in the LGCT Grand Prix as Max Kühner and Eic Up Too Jacco Blue fired up the battle at the top of the LGCT ranking winning ahead of Simon Delestre and Cayman Jolly Jumper and Eduardo Alvarez Aznar riding Rockefeller de Pleville Bois Margot.

MILENA PAPPAS ON 10 YEARS OF PREMIUMARES

As a lifelong amateur competitor in the sport of show jumping, Milena Pappas has been attending Europe’s biggest show venues as a rider for many years. More than a decade ago, however, she began to use her time on the circuit to develop another passion.

“At competitions, I would always take the start list, and literally study all the horses’ papers. I would look for patterns in the sire of a horse, or in characteristics that certain horses shared,” Pappas says.

The future breeder notes that her innate interest in biology and genetics, combined with her research at horse shows, helped to reinforce her theory that a mare’s bloodlines as well as her show jumping record could have a big impact on future foals.

“From early on, I gave a lot of weight to breeding mares that had proven results in the sport, or whose direct progeny did,” says Pappas. One of these foundational broodmares is Vahina, the full sister of Vannan, who has already produced proven top showjumpers and approved stallions. Other, more recent examples include About a Dream, who qualified for the Tokyo Olympic Games; the 5* Grand Prix mare, Constance; and Tresuniek van T&L, the sister of Dieu Merci.

“It was something that stemmed from the love of my own [show] horses - which were always Black Type mares [which competed at 1.45m or higher] - and so there was good reason to breed them.

“The sire is, of course, very important, but you can see the difference that a good dam makes. Being a newcomer and having spotted that even before seasoned breeders/sports people did was a move in the right direction for me from the start.”

In this way, Pappas’s breeding operation, PremiuMares, was born. This year, the company is celebrating its 10th anniversary, and while it’s come long way from those early roots, it’s never strayed far from the core beliefs that inspired it.

“We are breeding foundational mares with excellent proven lines,” explains Pappas, citing Toulanda degli Assi, a 1.60m Grand Prix mare in the direct line of Ta Belle van Sombeke; and Tampa Odeveld, in the direct line of Cordula de Laubry, and the only sister of Paris Olympic mount Odense Odeveld, as prime examples [see sidebar for more PremiuMares Rising Stars].

But after so many years in the business, Pappas says she’s also proud of the thoughtful relationships she’s cultivated along the way with the Longines Global Champions Tour and others. “Choosing the right partners and

having the right people around you is as important as anything else - especially in the first years of a company’s life,” Pappas says.

“Specifically, at LGCT Ramatuelle, St. Tropez and LGCTRome, where we have been partners from the get-go.”

Another fortunate PremiuMares connection that was born thanks to the Global Champions Tour (GCT) is with German Olympian Christian Ahlmann. “Christian rides some of our horses, including a homebred, Cherry Blossom PM. While, thanks to a meeting and eventual friendship that began at GCT Samorin a few years ago, PremiuMares will start a new partnership with [Ahlmann’s wife and partner] Judy-Ann Melchior this year during the World Breeding Championship in Lanaken.”

According to Pappas, a true highlight of PremiuMares’s evolution is becoming a co-owner of the Shanghai Swans GCL team alongside her good pals, Tess Carmichael and Julia Tops.

“The Swans riders are more than teammates, they are friends, and most of them have been with Tess, Julia, and I from the start. I think that’s a testament to the nature of our team, and the friendship that characterizes it,” Pappas explains.

“It’s like a Swan family where we cheer each other on and celebrate individual and team victories together. There is this trust in our team, where we know we will all show up for the team when challenges arise.

“It’s about the relationships with the people involved-thegrooms,riders,parents,teammates, team owners - above all, we’re friends,” she continues.

The Shanghai Swans kicked off 2025 with a win at GCL Mexico City at their second stop of the season. And Pappas has big plans for cheering on her favorite squad this June - part of her “ideal day” at LGCT Ramatuelle, St. Tropez.

“I wake up, put my riding gear on, pack a bathing suit along with my helmet and boots. Then go to Ramatuelle, walk the CSI 2* course with my friend Tess [Carmichael], ride my mares (hopefully clear!) then jump-off. Have some water, put on my bathing suit, and cool off in the sea - that’s what it’s there for, after all!

“In the afternoon, we’ll come back and have some lunch and rosé wine with Tess and her family and our friends while we watch our Swans riders do great things. Then, we head off to St. Tropez town for some dinner with riding friends from around the world. And we can’t forget to have a margarita by the pool at the Byblos hotel at some point!”

And while sunny days at LGCT Ramatuelle, St. Tropez are easy to appreciate, Pappas doesn’t regret any part of her journey with PremiuMares over the last decade. “It’s the motto of our company that this was all born out of pure passion for the sport and a genuine love for breeding,” Pappas explains.

“For me to be involved from the inception of a foal to its birth, its first steps into the sport, and to finally, finding its forever, loving home - it’s just an elevated, full-circle experience.”
