in equestrian sports. This year again, we look forward to supporting the foremost riders vying for success in the nineth stage of the Longines Global Champions Tour and attending three days of enthralling competitions, from 8th to 10th August 2025, in London.
On this very special occasion, we are proud to highlight the Official Watch of the event – the Longines Spirit Zulu Time 1925. Powered by a self-winding movement developed exclusively for Longines, this timepiece connects a legacy of horological innovation with the contemporary needs of global travellers.
I wish you many wonderful sports moments at the Longines Global Champions Tour, where top-level show jumping meets the unique atmosphere of London.
It is my great pleasure to welcome you to the Longines Global Champions Tour of London as we bring world class show jumping to privileged and prestigious location of Royal Hospital Chelsea.

Longines Global Champions Tour and GCL continues to deliver unforgettable action. The battle for dominance in the LGCT and GCL Championships is already proving to be intense as we race towards the overall Finals in Riyadh and the GC Prague Playoffs.
I would like to thank our long-time Title Partner and Official Timekeeper Longines for their fantastic commitment over the years. And I wish all our fans a superb weekend of show jumping.
During the 9th leg of the 2025 Longines Global Champions Tour in London, the Swiss watch brand Longines is proud to present a new model, the Longines Spirit Zulu Time 1925, marking the 100th anniversary of the brand’s first dual time zone wristwatch from 1925. Powered by a self-winding movement developed exclusively for Longines, this timepiece connects a legacy of horological innovation with the contemporary needs of global travellers.
Since the late 19th century, Longines has offered precise solutions for travellers navigating multiple time zones. In 1925, Longines introduced the first dual-time zone wristwatch, the “Zulu Time”. The dial featured the colourful maritime flag representing the letter “Z”, which signifies the time at the zero meridian in Greenwich, London, now known as Universal Time (UTC +0). In 2022, Longines reinterpreted this historic timepiece by launching the Longines Spirit Zulu Time collection, boasting state-of-the-art watchmaking technology. The collection quickly established itself as an essential companion for modern globetrotters, with its precise GMT functionality and distinctive aesthetic.
Now in 2025, to celebrate the centennial of this groundbreaking timepiece, the brand proudly unveils the Longines Spirit Zulu Time 1925. This commemorative edition features a 39-mm stainless steel case with a bidirectional rotating bezel adorned with exquisite 18K rose-gold cap, circularbrushed insert — a first for the collection — and 24hour graduations, enabling the wearer to track a third time zone.
The meticulously engraved numbers and indexes add both depth and refinement to the design, while the choice of rose gold, which contains copper, pays homage to the copper strip marking the Prime (or “zero”) Meridian that is embedded in the ground at the Royal Observatory at Greenwich, erected 350 years ago.
A true (or “traveller”) GMT watch, it is powered by the exclusive Longines calibre L844.4, a self-winding mechanical movement with a silicon balance spring and innovative components that make it up to 10 times more resistant to magnetic fields than the ISO 764 standard requires. The Longines Spirit Zulu Time 1925 comes with both a stainless steel bracelet featuring a double-folding safety clasp and a black NATO strap with a pin buckle.
This timepiece honours not only the brand’s innovative past but also its continued commitment to precision, elegance and the pioneering spirit that has characterised Longines throughout its history, while connecting a legacy of horological innovation with the contemporary needs of global travellers. This anniversary edition stands as a testament to how the art of fine watchmaking can bridge both time and distance, remaining as relevant in today’s interconnected world as it was a century ago.
The 2025 Longines Global Champions Tour launches the pinnacle of individual show jumping competition, spanning prestigious destinations worldwide, culminating in the final event of the year—the GC Prague Playoffs, now established as a landmark in the equestrian calendar.
Horses and riders are tested to their limits on intricate courses, in diverse arenas, and under the pressure of fierce competition. The tour brings together the world’s best equine and human athletes across Asia, Europe, the Americas, and the Middle East, beginning in Doha and travelling to iconic venues such as Mexico City, Monaco, Paris, Shanghai and more.
The much-anticipated Longines Global Champions Tour title, won by Max Kühner in 2024, is back up for grabs. Meanwhile, the thrilling pursuit of the coveted Golden Tickets continues, with only 1 available for qualification per event into the prestigious Longines Global Champions Tour Super Grand Prix at the GC Playoffs in November. These tickets are awarded to winners of the LGCT Grand Prix classes at each tour stop.
At every event, the LGCT Grand Prix takes centre stage, featuring challenging 1.60m courses. Riders must carefully select horses best suited for each unique location. Only the top 40 combinations qualify for the LGCT Grand Prix through a 5* class, with valuable ranking points and prize money on the line. Competitors accumulate points throughout the year, with each rider’s best eight results contributing to their final championship ranking.
The stakes are higher than ever, as every LGCT Grand Prix victory secures a Golden Ticket for the LGCT Super Grand Prix, adding an extra layer of excitement to the series. But first all eyes will be on Riyadh as the regular season concludes with the crowning of the Champion of Champions for 2025, in what promises to be a breathtaking final.
The 2025 GCL season sets the stage for electrifying competition, with elite teams battling across a thrilling season-long championship race, culminating in the highly anticipated GC Prague Playoffs.
Team Owners and Managers have meticulously crafted their strategies for this high-stakes season, where precision and teamwork are key. Maintaining its thrilling format, both Round 1 and Round 2 take place on the same day, with no drop score, ensuring every round counts toward the final result.
Since its inception in 2016, the GCL has revolutionised the sport, uniting global teams and promoting the next generation of talent through the inclusion of at least one U25 rider per team.
At each event, two rounds determine the standings:
Round 1, a CSI 5* 1.55m class, and Round 2, a CSI 5* 1.60m challenge, with penalties from Round 1 carried over to intensify the competition. This streamlined format captivates audiences worldwide, combining strategy, speed, and skill. Teams earn points throughout the season,
with the top four post-championship automatically advancing to the GCL Super Cup Semi-Finals at the GC Playoffs. This coveted fast track allows these teams to bypass the knockout Quarter-Finals, preserving their horses’ energy for the decisive rounds.
- Each team fields three riders per event, with two competing in each round.
- Penalties from Round 1 determine the starting order for Round 2.
- The stage winners are the team with the fewest combined penalties and the fastest Round 2 time.
- The GC Playoffs feature three knockout rounds: Quarter-Final, Semi-Final, and Final.
- The team ranked 17th on the overall season championship standings will not qualify for the GC Prague Playoffs
Prepare for a season filled with unmatched team spirit, strategy, and high-octane drama, as the GCL 2025 raises the bar for show jumping’s ultimate team challenge.

In 2024, he featured in key appearances and showcased the team’s growth trajectory. His leadership, vision, and versatility will be critical as Istanbul pushes for stronger finishes in 2025.
Back for another year with the Istanbul Warriors powered by Carpe Diem Equestrian team, Abdel Saïd is a seasoned competitor who knows how to deliver when it matters most. A former LGCT Grand Prix winner and a cornerstone of Istanbul’s 2024 campaign, he consistently produced strong rounds that kept the team in the mix, particularly with clear rounds in Doha. Known for his bold riding and unshakeable confidence, Abdel’s return brings both leadership and firepower to the Warriors.
A key Turkish rider in the GCL, Hasan Şentürk embodies the heart and soul of the Istanbul Warriors powered by Carpe Diem Equestrian team. With experience on the international stage and deep familiarity with the team dynamic, Hasan’s steady performances in select stages of the 2024 season demonstrated his ability to step up when called upon. His passion, national pride, and tactical awareness continue to make him a vital pillar of the team’s foundation.
Oliver Fletcher joins the Istanbul Warriors for the 2025 season as the team’s U25 rider, bringing with him a bold style, fearless energy, and a growing record of top performances on the international stage. Olivier made his GCL debut in 2024 with the Monaco Aces, where he gained valuable experience at elite venues, delivering promising rounds under pressure and showing his ability to hold his own in a senior team environment. Now stepping into a bigger role with Istanbul, Oliver is ready to channel his talent into points for the team. With his fast, forward riding and sharp competitive instincts, he’s one of the rising stars to watch in the U25 category this season.
