The charming historic downtown and The Depot (Visitor’s Center) is home to many popular year-round special events hosted by the Village and outside organizations.
Gilberts Gilberts is a combination of history and modern convenience, city and countryside. To the southeast, the city of Chicago is a simple drive away, while picturesque Wisconsin escapes lie to the north. The Village hosts several community events such as a fall bonfire, summer festival, and fishing derby. Hampshire Locals are proud of Hampshire’s heritage, and it’s not uncommon for generations of residents to remain in Hampshire as they welcome new growth. It’s home to two beautiful parks, a baseball field, and the annual “Coon Creek Country Days.”
