 Elgin Located only 42 miles northwest of Chicago, the “City in the Suburbs” is full of diversity and culture.  Carpentersville The Fox River Bike Trail is a great way to experience the historic Old Town area of Carpentersville and the revitalized Carpenter Park, which sports a disc golf course and concert area that hosts movies in the park. Carpentersville has a variety of shopping and dining experiences. It is a diverse community with excellent amenities including special events and inviting parks.

 East Dundee East Dundee is a picturesque community where residents and visitors alike enjoy a wide array of unique retail and dining options, fun activities such as Santa’s Village Azoosment Park, and recreational opportunities with direct access to the Fox River Bike Trail. The charming historic downtown and The Depot (Visitor’s Center) is home to many popular year-round special events hosted by the Village and outside organizations.

 Gilberts Gilberts is a combination of history and modern convenience, city and countryside. To the southeast, the city of Chicago is a simple drive away, while picturesque Wisconsin escapes lie to the north. The Village hosts several community events such as a fall bonfire, summer festival, and fishing derby. Gilberts has been rated one of the Safest Cities in Illinois and Best Places to Raise a Family in Kane County.

 Hampshire Locals are proud of Hampshire’s heritage, and it’s not uncommon for generations of residents to remain in Hampshire as they welcome new growth. It’s home to two beautiful parks, a baseball field, and the annual “Coon Creek Country Days.”

 Pingree Grove Nestled in the outer northwestern suburbs Pingree Grove combines the calming effect of being surrounded by nature with the convenience of many amenities nearby. Hundreds of families visit Pingree Grove every year to take in the Fall Festival or the winter drive-thru lights show at Goebbert’s Pumpkin Patch and Apple Orchard.

 Sleepy Hollow With meandering roads, rolling hills, and wooded countryside, the town of Sleepy Hollow lives up to its fairytale name. Its founder requested that Sleepy Hollow retain its country charm by working with the land’s natural contour. Today, the village is a place of peace and serenity with a strong sense of community and hidden gems.

 South Elgin South Elgin celebrates its 125-year anniversary with an enthusiasm for our bright future. With a new festival-style park, abundant natural areas, miles of interconnected bike paths, a thriving retail corridor and a huge array of residential options, South Elgin welcomes visitors and new residents alike to explore where life offers more!

 West Dundee Tree-lined streets and a quaint downtown welcome visitors to cornerstone dining venues and specialty shops and entertainment experiences. Recreation opportunities are around every corner, from Randall Oaks, featuring a Golf Club, Rec Center, Barnyard Zoo and much more, to the Riverwalk along the Fox River and numerous neighborhood parks. Overnight visitors may choose from the Sonesta Select and Extended Stay America located Route 31 near the I-90 Tollway.

Explore your history by enjoying a round trip along the beautiful Fox River aboard antique trolley trains as they travel from South Elgin to the Jon J. Duerr Forest Preserve. Museum admission includes unlimited train rides on the different trains in service the day of your visit.
