The opulent Restoration Hardware Minneapolis made its Twin Cities debut when it opened on the outer edge of Southdale Center in Edina at the end of September 2019. Rustica Bakery was created by Steve Horton, a very talented baker with a passion for making the best bread in the Twin Cities. We serve Dogwood Coffee and have always valued providing staple roasts and espresso, as well as exploring fresh, unique specialty coffee drinks.

The new location opened in early 2020 and is a welcome and exciting addition to the 50th & France neighborhood. “We’ve been looking for quite a while to open another Pajarito in this area,” says chef and owner, Steve Hesse. “50th & France is such a nice, quaint community. Opening a new location here feels like a really good second home for us.”

There’s a lot to be excited about with the Edina version of Pajarito: a larger open kitchen will enable restaurant-goers to watch while tortillas are made and meals are assembled. Two woodfire ovens will allow for expanded menu options. “You’ll be able to get 95% of your favorite St. Paul menu options at the Edina location, but we’re also looking to expand the taco and woodfire offerings here,” says Hesse. The new location also features a reservable event space in the basement: perfect for private parties, larger groups, and receptions.

Keep in mind that Pajarito’s contemporary and creative approach to Mexican cuisine isn’t limited to the food—their fabulous cocktail menu will still be available in all its glory at the Edina location too. Try the habanero cilantro margarita or the snozberry version with creme de cassis, dry curaçao, and strawberry-lemon shrub. The location features a variety of different play areas for kids, as well as a Greek-style amphitheater, cafe, jogging track with fitness equipment, and a six-lane lap pool. Natural light filters through the glass ceiling into the landscaped, climate-controlled interior, so the park’s atmosphere is very calming.

What kinds of play areas are offered at the park? Our signature element is Adventure Peak, a six-level climbing structure with an open triple slide. Little Peak is a play area for kids ages four and younger, and The Great Hall is our popular multipurpose gym featuring a bounce house and an assortment of play equipment.

Take to the Trails Bike Edina

Edina is a very bike-friendly community with shared bicycle and automobile lanes throughout the city. If you want a longer ride, head to the Nine Mile Creek. Just completed in 2018, the new paved 15 mile trail travels through neighboring cities and over brand new boardwalks and wooden trail bridges to view the area’s wetlands and woodlands as well as the trail’s namesake creek. The community of Edina also celebrates and supports local artists in a unique way by hosting two major art events, in June and in September, drawing thousands of art lovers to the area.

More than 100 radio-controlled boats, piloted by members of the Edina Model Yacht Club, take to “the high seas” of Centennial Lakes Park every summer.

Shop ‘til you drop and enjoy this summer tradition at the shops of 50th and France. This July weekendlong event features special bargains, a 5K, entertainment for the kids and more.

Celebrate summer with an annual ode to warmer weather on the second Sunday of August. The ultimate familyfriendly event in Centennial Lakes Park is free and a treat for all ages. Snacks and treats including popcorn, drinks and ice cream abound. The celebration also features antique cars, vintage piano-playing and a “mechanical man” movement performance. Enjoy a twinkling light show coordinated by the Edina Model Yacht Club—at sundown, lighted boats dart across the water against the backdrop of a built-to-scale lighthouse. Top off the night with a musical performance and a fireworks finale.

EDINA ART FAIR

Truly in a class of its own, this fair is a top art event in Minnesota and the country. From August 20-22, join over 200,000 visitors of the 53rd annual event to admire the work of more than 300 local and national fine artists and crafters. Explore booth upon booth of ceramics, jewelry, glass, photography, wood carvings, mixed media, wearables and sculptures.
