Where does the brand name come from?

Our brand name comes from Billy himself!

He grew up in Louisiana and started designing clothing for himself as he couldn't find anything that fit him perfectly. 20 years and 4 CFDA awards later, and he is a well-respected designer with a commitment to artisanship and making clothing that is built to last.

What is your favorite thing about Edina?

I love working and living in the community! There's so many incredible restaurants and small businesses in the 50th and France district that are easy to walk to, shop at, and enjoy. This neighborhood is like a big family as we stay connected and support each other.

The opulent Restoration Hardware Minneapolis made its Twin Cities debut when it opened on the outer edge of Southdale Center in Edina at the end of September 2019. The new location is a welcome and exciting addition to the neighborhood. “We’ve been looking for quite a while to open another Pajarito in this area,” says chef and owner, Steve Hesse. “50th & France is such a nice, quaint community. Opening a new location here feels like a really good second home for us.”

There’s a lot to be excited about with the Edina version of Pajarito: a larger open kitchen will enable restaurant-goers to watch while tortillas are made and meals are assembled. Two woodfire ovens will allow for expanded menu options. “You’ll be able to get 95% of your favorite St. Paul menu options at the Edina location, but we’re also looking to expand the taco and woodfire offerings here,” says Hesse. The new location also features a reservable event space in the basement: perfect for private parties, larger groups, and receptions.

Keep in mind that Pajarito’s contemporary and creative approach to Mexican cuisine isn’t limited to the food—their fabulous cocktail menu will still be available in all its glory at the Edina location too. Try the habanero cilantro margarita or the snozberry version with creme de cassis, dry curaçao, and strawberry-lemon shrub. If margaritas aren’t your thing, there’s a great selection of other cocktails to sip and savor. If you’re looking for a hip, new neighborhood hangout, this could be your spot.

Opened in 2019, this anchor at Southdale Center, Life Time Edina at Southdale has transformed the France Avenue corridor between Hwy 62 and I-494. “This is the first project in the country where we’ve got the club, Life Time Work, and Life Time Sport all in one place,” says Shawn Severson, director of Life Time Edina Southdale. “It’s our first three-story club in the market, and our first with a rooftop beach club and bistro.”

The community of Edina also celebrates and supports local artists in a unique way by hosting two major art events, in June and in September, drawing thousands of art lovers to the area.

EDINA ART FAIR

Truly in a class of its own, this fair is a top art event in Minnesota and the country. From May 31-June 2, join over 200,000 visitors of the 55th annual event to admire the work of more than 300 local and national fine artists and crafters. Explore booth upon booth of ceramics, jewelry, glass, photography, wood carvings, mixed media, wearables and sculptures. There’s free admission, a shuttle bus from Southdale Center, a Kids’ Zone, concession stands, food trucks and more. Rain or shine.

PARADE OF BOATS
