FOOTSTEPS ON THE GAMBIA
The river gradually widened, twisted and turned. Its presence left us feeling overwhelmed as well as isolated. Walking along its wild banks, we were simultaneously vulnerable yet free.
We relied on the river not just for our expedition purpose, but also for its water for drinking and cooking and for the sense of freedom it bestowed upon us with its beauty and grace.
