BELIEVE WHEN YOU PRAY
By Eunise Chery, Contributing Writer
Prayer is such an integral part of the believer’s life. There are so many questions surrounding prayer such as how we should pray, when we should pray and where we should pray. I believe one of the most important things we should be asking regarding prayer is “Do we believe when we pray?”

Second, we must believe that God is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him. He proves Himself to be our reward. In Him is life and everything that pertains to life. So, when we go to Him in prayer, we are going to the source of everything that we need. Our diligence in seeking God results in so much more than what we ask for in prayer. Prayer is about God and His faithfulness.
The Bible tells us in Hebrews 11:6 "But without faith it is impossible to please him; for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that He is a rewarder of them that diligently seek Him. " Whenever we are praying and no matter what we are praying for, we have to pray in faith. This is what pleases God. According to this scripture, there are two things we must believe. First, we must believe that God is who He says He is. We must put our confidence in God and not in our prayers. Our prayers should rely solely on Him and as we believe God first, our belief will be conveyed through what we say. Prayer is the vehicle that delivers our faith to the presence of God.
No matter when you pray or how you pray, only believe your prayers will bring results. Before our prayers can be effectual like the Bible tells us in James 5:16, we have to make the decision to believe that God is who he says He is and that He will reward your faith in Him.
