Hello
Thank you for taking the time to pick up your guide to Exeter College. Whether you’re a parent, guardian or school leaver, I hope that this guide will provide you with all of the information that you require. If you do have any questions, our dedicated College Advice Team will be more than happy to assist you. This year more than ever, our students have shown how truly fantastic they are. As our country emerges from the pandemic, our learners’ resilience and determination have been apparent as they fully embraced all aspects of College life. With so many new developments on the horizon, it is a really exciting time to be joining Exeter College. As Principal and CEO at Exeter College, I am immensely proud of our students’ incredible achievements. Our learners consistently excel in the classroom, with many progressing to top universities and embarking on amazing careers. We even have one student studying at Harvard University on a full scholarship. In my soon to be fourteenth year at the College, I can’t remember a year when our students have achieved such an array of success. Our netball team have become the first in history to win the treble, topping three national championships. Our women’s rugby 7’s team is regarded as the best in the country and played at Twickenham in front of over 20,000 fans. Exeter College has also seen great results this year away from the sports field. One of our music students won a national song writing competition and an Electrical Apprentice was named ‘best in the country’ in a national skills competition. Our physics students achieved top marks in the Physics Olympiad and our debating team learned about diplomacy and international relations by participating in the Model UN (United Nations). Exeter College is an Ofsted ‘Outstanding’ provider, a status that we obtained in 2012 and maintained in 2014. Our learners really value the quality of education that they receive here – students feel the benefits of industry standard facilities and specialist staff who know their subject inside out. Some of our learners travel miles to study at Exeter College, simply because our unrivalled opportunities and extensive range of subjects allow them to follow their passion unlike anywhere else.
At Exeter College, we recognise that education is about far more than achieving a qualification. All students at Exeter College are allocated a personal tutor and become part of a tutor group. I encourage you to take time to read beyond the specific subjects you’re interested in studying. Find out about our EXtra offer, our brand new enrichment programme, which gives all students regular opportunities to grow, develop and learn outside of the classroom. Discover the extra support we offer and start planning how Exeter College could work for you. Our students make us what we are. I am very much looking forward to meeting and welcoming all of our new students to this Outstanding College in September.
