The ticket office and general Will Call is located outside the south end zone near Gate 7. Fans picking up tickets from a participating school’s will call should contact the school directly for location and times.

parking inForMaTion In order to accommodate as many fans as possible in the Legion Field parking lots, parking attendants have been instructed to park vehicles as close as possible in an orderly and safe manner. In addition, parking attendants are required to keep a fire lane between parking rows. general parking: General parking is $10. All public lots at Legion Field will open at 7 a.m. on Game Day. Fans wishing to park prior to 7 a.m. on Game Day should enter Lot M. rv parking: RV parking is $20/day plus an additional $10 if towing an automobile. Lot M will open for RVs at 8 a.m. on Friday, January 4th. All RVs should enter through Lot M. RV parking is also available at the Hoover RV Park. Located just 20 minutes from Legion Field, the Hoover RV Park features numerous amenities, sewer and sanitation connections, and cable television hook up.

TailgaTing inForMaTion • Tailgating is allowed around your vehicle. If you wish to tailgate in a surrounding parking space, you will be required to purchase one or more additional parking spaces depending on the amount of space needed to accommodate your needs.

• The charge for additional tailgating space, tents, etc. is $10 per space. If you wish to take up additional space please notify the parking cashier (the person at the gate where you enter the Legion Field parking lot) upon entering the Legion Field parking lot. The parking cashier will provide you additional parking tickets to show how many spaces you have paid for.

• DO NOT PAY THE PARKING ATTENDANTS, notify and pay the parking cashier.

• When you are directed to the parking area, show the parking attendants your additional parking tickets so the proper amount of space will be allocated to you.

• Due to heightened security measures, tailgating on the tarmac surrounding the stadium is prohibited.

• For large groups in need of special accommodations, please contact the Legion Field office prior to January 5, 2013.

• Please direct all parking and tailgating questions to the Legion Field office during normal business hours.

Barber Vintage Motorsports Museum Home to the world’s best motorcycle collection, the museum now has more than 1200 vintage and modern motorcycles and racecars and the largest collection of Lotus cars as well as other significant makes. The collection is the largest of its kind in the world. Approximately 600 of the 1200 motorcycles in the collection are on display at any given time. These bikes range from 1902 to current-year production.

7. Birmingham Botanical Gardens The glory of nature in the heart of the city— that’s the promise of the 67-acre Birmingham Botanical Gardens. 8. Birmingham Civil Rights Heritage Trail The Birmingham Civil Rights Heritage Trail winds through downtown, marking significant locations along Civil Rights march routes. Kelly Ingram Park Called a “Place of Revolution and Reconciliation,” Kelly Ingram Park in Birmingham’s Civil Rights District is adjacent to the Birmingham Civil Rights Institute and historic 16th Street Baptist Church. The park served as a staging area for demonstrations in the early 1960s, including the ones in which police dogs and fire hoses were turned on marchers. Images of those attacks haunted Birmingham in the decades that followed, but they were the same images that were instrumental in overturning legal segregation. An audio tour, available via your cell phone, takes you on a journey through the most dramatic days of the Civil Rights Movement in Birmingham. 16. McWane Science Center Four floors of hands-on exhibits and an IMAX Dome Theatre are all part of the fun of learning at McWane Science Center. 21. Sixteenth Street Baptist Church National Historic Landmark The Sixteenth Street Baptist Church is Birmingham’s most famous Civil Rights landmark.

On a September Sunday morning in 1963, four African-American schoolgirls were in the basement of the church just prior to the worship service. A bomb set by Ku Klux Klansmen ripped through that side of the church, killing 11-year-old Denise McNair, Carole Robertson, Cynthia Wesley and Addie Mae Collins, all 14 years old. The bombing was a turning point in the status of race relations locally and nationally. Now a National Historic Landmark, the church is a reminder of man’s inhumanity and his capacity for love and forgiveness. The sanctuary of the church contains a massive stained glass window of Christ, given in memoriam from the people of Wales following the bombing. Tours by appointment. 22. Sloss Furnaces National Historic Landmark Sloss is a 32-acre blast furnace plant where iron was made for nearly 100 years. Now a museum of history and industry, the site preserves a collection of machinery, buildings

and industrial structures. These artifacts typify the first 100 years of Birmingham’s history and the technology that drove America’s rise to world industrial dominance. Sloss is the only 20th century blast furnace in the country being preserved and interpreted as a museum. 26. Vulcan Park and Museum Vulcan is the largest cast iron statue in the world and Birmingham’s city symbol. Standing high atop Red Mountain, the 56-foot-high statue has an observation balcony on its pedestal for a panoramic view of the city. Vulcan is patterned after the mythical Roman god of the forge, a nod to the city’s powerful position in the iron and steel industry in the first part of the 20th century. The statue was created as Birmingham’s exhibit in the 1904 World’s Fair in St. Louis and won the exposition’s grand prize. Downtown Birmingham Investigating downtown shopping is an adventure in itself. Start out at BB’s China & Glassware (2427 1st Ave. North) where you’ll find an enticing assortment of dishes and glassware, some bearing the logos of defunct hotels from around the country, along with Fiesta ware and seconds at good discounts.

Move on to downtown 20th Street to the historic Bon Ton Hatters, where you can get your hat steam cleaned while you get the best shoeshine in town. Just off 20th on Third Avenue North is a treasure trove of memories at Reed Books. Back over to 20th Street and south a few blocks is the Peanut Depot. Stop in for treats or just to see the beautiful old roasters that are still in use. Head further south down 20th into historic Five Points South. A good photo background here is “The Storyteller,” a fountain designed by Birmingham-native sculptor Frank Fleming. While in this district, stop in at Charlemagne Record Exchange, if only for the atmosphere and the personnel.
