From the very first collection, the tone was set: customized military jackets with a rebellious and chic look were immediately recognized by ELLE magazine. This meteoric rise to fame propelled the brand onto the international fashion scene.

Very quickly, the first prestigious clients confirmed the brand’s emerging aura: Marta Sánchez was the very first to purchase a piece in Ibiza, followed by Ana Obregón, both in Miami and on the White Isle.

But it was at the Cannes Film Festival that the brand’s export market really took off, thanks to Vanessa Paradis, who purchased several dresses and became one of the first to propel the image of Las Noches Ibiza internationally.

It was Eric Cherki’s textile universe that really hit the mark.

Inspired by Victorian lingerie, he created silhouettes in cotton voile, antique lace, and gold embroidery evoking liturgical ornaments. This subtle blend of the sacred and sensual redefines the Ibizan style, infusing it with an unexpected modernity and a couture feel.

For fifteen years, the brand exploded internationally, establishing itself in the world’s most prestigious beach clubs, from SaintTropez to Saint-Barth, via Monaco, with iconic locations such as Bagatelle, Nikki Beach, Loulou, and Tahiti Beach.

After fifteen years on the island of Ibiza, a turning point occurred: The founder of Puente Romano and Nobu Marbella, invited the brand to expand to the Andalusian coast. This is how @lasnochesibiza opened its boutique in Marbella.

We came to open a boutique... and we settled in. Literally captivated by the region’s charm, we found a wonderful Andalusian house full of soul and elegance, a place to live and share.

We organize numerous lunches and dinners there, beautifully orchestrated by Diane de Maria and her partner Nathalie Loufrani, experts in the art of the table. Our wonderful collaboration with the management of Puente Romano and Nobu has also allowed us to organize a spectacular annual fashion show on the Plaza, which has become a mustsee for fashionistas from the region and beyond. A moment of grace where fashion, music, and the art of living meet under the Andalusian stars.

This change boosted the brand, which then took a new direction with decidedly “resort” collections, designed for a sophisticated clientele seeking unique pieces that are both elegant and full of character. The brand now attracts the most prestigious establishments on the planet, and is sold in luxury hotels such as the Faena in Miami Beach, the St. Barthélemy Hotel, and the legendary Burj Al Arab in Dubai.

Las Noches Ibiza isn’t just a brand; it’s a way of life. A balance between tradition and boldness, roots and freedom.

El Fuerte in Marbella is paying tribute to Lola Flores, who stayed at the five-star hotel during many of her visits to the Costa del Sol. This emblematic five-star hotel, which has hosted the likes of Walt Disney, Timothy Dalton and Rafael Alberti, was home to ‘La Faraona’ on many occasions and she enjoyed extended stays there. For example, when the Flores family decided to move to Marbella and were waiting for the work on their house ‘Los Gitanillos’ to be completed.

To commemorate the 30th anniversary of her death, El Fuerte is dedicating a menu to this legendary figure of flamenco music, combining the typical cuisine of Jerez, where the artist was born, with that of Marbella, where she chose to live.

THE EXHIBITION ‘DESVELAR LA REALIDAD’ EXHIBITS A PREVIOUSLY UNSEEN WORK BY ANTONIO LÓPEZ

An unpublished work by the painter and sculptor Antonio López is being shown to the public for the first time in Estepona (Málaga) as part of the exhibition ‘Desvelar la realidad’ (Unveiling Reality), which looks back on 60 years of Spanish Realism through the works of the country’s most important figurative artists. The exhibition offers a glimpse of this unpublished work by the renowned painter from Tomelloso (Ciudad Real), ‘Frentes y perfiles. César’ (2017) pencil, oil, tracing paper collage. In addition to the work by Antonio López, ‘Desvelar la realidad’ also features 81 works, including paintings, drawings and sculptures by renowned names in Spanish art such as Cristóbal Toral, Esperanza Parada, Amalia Avia, Francisco López and Carmen Laffón.

The emblematic Puente Romano hotel complex, in Marbella, has once again done what many thought was, to say the least, very difficult after the opening of El Pimpi: expand its gastronomic offer with the opening of Puro Sushi, a Japanese restaurant with an omakase bar. And it was celebrated with a very special experience, a live ronqueo (where a freshly caught tuna is skinned and filleted by hand) that its most VIP customers were able to enjoy. Puro Sushi wanted to pay tribute to one of the most sought-after products in Japanese cuisine: bluefin tuna.

On 3 January 2025, Organic Law 1/2025 of 2 January, on Measures to Improve the Efficiency of the Public Justice Service (“Organic Law 1/2025”) was published, introducing notable reforms in civil and commercial judicial proceedings in Spain. Among the most significant is a new mandatory prerequisite: parties must now demonstrate that they attempted to resolve the dispute through extrajudicial means before filing a lawsuit.

This new requirement—referred to as an MASC” (Medio Adecuado de Solución de Controversias which could be translated as Adequate Dispute Resolution Mechanism)—applies to all civil and commercial proceedings initiated in Spain from 3 April 2025, onwards.

A MASC refers to any negotiation-based activity—legally recognized— undertaken by the conflicting parties in an effort to reach an out-ofcourt settlement.

As a general rule, MASC mechanisms will be mandatory in civil and commercial matters. Labour, criminal, insolvency-related, and public sector disputes are expressly excluded, as these areas already have comparable procedural alternatives or specific exceptions.

This MASC attempt becomes a compulsory step prior to any judicial proceedings in the covered areas, and civil or commercial lawsuits will not be admitted without prior recourse to a MASC mechanism and evidence of good-faith negotiation efforts. However, the requirement does not apply in certain situations, such as filing an enforcement claim or requesting urgent precautionary measures.

The law outlines the following types of MASC mechanisms: • Negotiation: Direct negotiation between the parties, with or without the involvement of legal counsel.

• Mediation: A voluntary process in which two or more parties attempt to reach an agreement with the assistance of a neutral and impartial mediator. The mediator facilitates communication but does not propose solutions.

• Conciliation: A qualified expert (the conciliator), with technical or legal expertise in the subject matter, assists the parties in reaching an agreement by actively proposing potential solutions. Conciliation may be private (conducted by any suitably knowledgeable individual) or public (carried out by notaries, registrars, court clerks, or justices of the peace).

Any party seeking to resolve a dispute may issue a binding offer to the other party, and if accepted, both are legally obligated to uphold the agreement. Likewise, an acceptance by the counterparty is irrevocable.

If negotiation is carried out with the assistance of lawyers, and no agreement is reached, those lawyers may not subsequently represent their clients in any future litigation on the same matter.

A MASC process will be considered to have concluded without agreement in the following circumstances: • If thirty calendar days have passed since receipt of the initial negotiation request without any contact or first meeting, or if no written response has been received.

• If thirty calendar days have passed since one party made a proposal without achieving an agreement or receiving a written response.

• If three months have passed since the first meeting without the parties having reached an agreement.

Either party may unilaterally end the negotiations at any point, and in doing so, it will be deemed that prior resolution efforts have failed—thus allowing the filing of a lawsuit.

Once a MASC mechanism has been attempted, the parties have a period of one year to file the claim.

In short, this is yet another regulatory reform with a commendable objective: easing the caseload of the courts and reducing the financial burden on litigants. However, its real-world effectiveness remains uncertain. Any lawyer with even minimal experience knows that, given the chronic backlog in our judicial system, efforts to resolve disputes out of court are already common practice.

Sometimes political and social events bring unexpected surprises that remind us of the true power of culture as a means of bridging the generation gap. This was the case with the informative breakfast held at Tikitano restaurant in Estepona, chaired by the mayor of Estepona, José María García Urbano, and the national spokesman for the Partido Popular, Borja Sémper. The event was organised by entrepreneur Shaina Al Shaoud.

In the midst of an atmosphere of political reflection, where fundamental questions about the credibility of politics and national cohesion were being debated, it was a boy of just 12 years of age who managed to capture the attention of everyone at the gathering. With an artistic sensibility unusual for his age, Rafa B. presented an art exhibition that left the entrepreneurs, politicians and opinion leaders speechless. His works, full of symbolism, strength and maturity, not only embellished the room, but also served as a reminder that talent knows no age and that art is one of the most sincere forms of expression and dialogue. The response was unanimous: admiration and, above all, hope. Hope in a new generation that observes, feels and is already beginning to express itself with a voice of its own.

At ELM, we celebrate moments like these that remind us of the value of opening up spaces for young people and emerging talent. Because if one thing was clear on that day in Tikitano, it was that the future has already begun... and it comes loaded with art.

The creative sensitivity and natural talent of this young up-and-coming artist have begun to attract the attention of the public and the most demanding cultural circles. At the tender age of 12, Rafa has shown an exceptional artistic maturity, characterised by his expressive use of colour, visual symbolism and an intuitive ability to connect with the viewer’s emotions.

Rafa is currently continuing his autodidactic artistic training under the guidance of local mentors and art teachers.

His style evolves with each new work, always driven by authenticity and a personal vision that has defined him since his first brushstrokes.

Rafa B. has exhibited in Marbella with Es Arte Gallery, at the Madrid Salón de Arte Moderno with great success, and on the 6th of June a new exhibition will be held at the Espacio Cultural Casa de Las Tejerinas (Estepona) with the support of the Delegación de Cultura de Estepona.

ELM ART En ocasiones, los eventos políticos y sociales nos regalan sorpresas inesperadas que nos recuerdan el verdadero poder de la cultura como vehículo de conexión entre generaciones.

Así ocurrió durante el desayuno informativo celebrado en el restaurante Tikitano en Estepona, presidido por el alcalde de Estepona, José María García Urbano y el portavoz nacional del Partido Popular, Borja Sémper. Un evento organizado por la empresaria Shaina Al Shaoud.

En medio de un ambiente de reflexión política, donde se debatieron temas fundamentales sobre la credibilidad de la política y la cohesión nacional, fue un joven de apenas 12 años quien logró captar la atención de todos los presentes. Rafa B., con una sensibilidad artística poco común para su edad, presentó una exposición de arte que dejó sin palabras a los empresarios, políticos y líderes de opinión congregados aquella mañana.

Sus obras, cargadas de simbolismo, fuerza y madurez, no solo embellecieron el espacio, sino que sirvieron de recordatorio de que el talento no entiende de edades, y que el arte es una de las formas más sinceras de expresión y diálogo. La reacción fue unánime: admiración y sobre todo, esperanza. Esperanza en una nueva generación que observa, que siente, y que ya comienza a expresarse con una voz propia.

La exposición de Rafa B. no fue solo el toque artístico del evento, sino que fue el punto emotivo de la frescura juvenil el que elevó el encuentro, demostrando que incluso en los foros más serios hay espacio para el asombro y la emoción. Políticos, empresarios, periodistas y asistentes en general coincidieron: la exposición de Rafa B. fue toda una irrupción poética en medio del pragmatismo, una muestra de que las nuevas generaciones no solo observan, sino que ya se expresan con fuerza y estilo propio.

Desde estas páginas, no solo celebramos el talento de este joven artista, sino también la valentía de quienes le dieron un espacio para brillar. “THE MAZOR ROBOT REDUCES THE RISK OF INJURY DURING SPINAL SURGERY TO VIRTUALLY ZERO” EUROSURGEON AT VITHAS HOSPITAL MAL AGA

Vithas Hospital in Malaga recently incorporated the innovative Mazor robotic system, which virtually eliminates the possibility of error or complication during and after spinal surgery. We talk with Dr. Miguel Ángel Arráez, a reputable neurosurgeon at the hospital and vicepresident of the World Federation of Neurosurgical Societies.

The new Mazor robot, recently added to the Robotic Spinal Surgery Unit at Vithas Hospital in Malaga, is the only one of its kind available in Andalusia, and only two other such units exist in Spain.

Mazor facilitates highly precise, personalised surgical procedures by combining specialised instruments and software that allow surgeons to visualise the patient’s anatomy, plan the procedure in 3-D, and operate with the help of this technology. “This allows us to position the implants before the operation using virtual reality, in order to verify that they fit the characteristics of each patient perfectly”, Dr. Arráez explains.

“Furthermore”, he continues, “during the procedure, the robot directs the positioning of the instruments in relation to the patient’s anatomy to ensure a minimally invasive procedure. Its articulated arm moves with maximum precision and its range of instruments and applications provides neurosurgeons with all the options necessary to achieve the desired result in each case”.

All of the above can be summed up in one word: safety. This is what truly distinguishes Mazor; it is able to position various instruments with millimetre precision, thus avoiding potential complications, such as excessive bleeding, fractures, or the shifting of implants like screws or plates. Moreover, it significantly reduces post-op recovery times.

Mazor is a veritable revolution in this type of surgery, virtually reducing the risk of injury to the spinal cord or spinal nerve roots to zero, a grave concern in these kinds of procedures.

Tell us a little about yourself I am Enzo... I have been passionate about motor racing since I was a child. For as long as I can remember, I have always been fascinated by the world of cars, speed and competitions. My family has been a great support in this path, and little by little I have been perfecting my skills on the track. Although my life is focused on racing, I like to maintain a balance with other activities that allow me to grow both professionally and personally.

How did your relationship with motor racing begin?

My relationship with motor racing began at a very young age.

I remember watching Formula 1 races with my father and being completely captivated by the excitement and strategy of the drivers. At the age of 6, I started karting, and it was there that I discovered my true passion for competitions. Over time, my interest grew and I became more and more involved in the world of motorsports, competing in various categories.

Tell us what a normal day is like for you A normal day for me is quite structured. It starts with a physical training routine in the morning, to keep fit and have the stamina that motorsports requires. After that, I move on to the simulator or testing on the track, where I focus on improving my times and driving technique. I also spend time on data analysis and strategy to better understand the conditions of the car and how to optimize my performance. And of course, I don’t forget the mental part; concentration and calm are essential in this sport.

Apart from motorsport, what sports do you play?

I like to stay active and balanced, so I play other sports such as golf and cycling. Golf helps me a lot in terms of agility and coordination, and cycling allows me to stay in good physical shape, which is essential for motorsport. I also like to run from time to time to work on my endurance and breathing control.

What is your current sporting dream or goal?

My biggest dream is to get to Formula 1. I have worked very hard to get closer and closer to that goal, and although the road is long, I know I have what it takes to achieve it. My short-term goal is to continue to excel in the categories I compete in, to improve every day and, if all goes well, to get a chance in one of the highest categories of motorsport.

How would you define your driving style?

I consider myself a very meticulous and technical driver. I like to analyze every curve, every braking and every acceleration to get the most out of the car in every situation. My driving style is quite controlled, but I also like to take risks when the opportunity presents itself. The most important thing is to find that balance between being aggressive when necessary and being precise at all times.

Who is your most inspiring Formula 1 driver?

One of my biggest role models is Ayrton Senna. His passion, mental approach and dedication to motorsport have always inspired me. I also greatly admire Max Verstappen for his tenacity and ability to stay at the top level for so many years. Both drivers have a winning mentality that motivates me to keep going, especially in difficult times.

What steps do you still have to take to see yourself in Formula 1?

There are still several steps to take, but I am working with my team to continue climbing the ladder of the lower categories.

Every year, I am closer to the opportunities I need, and the key is to continue demonstrating my ability on the track, both in speed and strategy. I am in contact with coaches, sponsors and people in the environment who can help me get to Formula 1, and I know that I will achieve it if I continue with the same commitment and dedication.

Your surname is ‘Jose’. From where do you originate?

I’m a fraud! Although my name is Alexandra Jose, I’m actually 100% British. I’ve always wondered if somewhere back in the lineage our family originated from Spain. It would explain the draw I’ve always had to Spain and the Spanish people. Spanish settlers landed in Dorset, England in the sixth century and formed a community so perhaps there is a link there.

What it is about Spain specifically that attracts you?

The Spanish people have a work ethic I truly respect. They know how much to work to create a sense of purpose and progress whilst also allowing enough time to appreciate life. I’ve travelled a lot up until now and there’s a feeling of joy in Spain that I haven’t felt in other countries.

What was the moment you knew music was your path?

I had a traditional education up until 21 years old, culminating in graduating from Cambridge University. Despite doing a huge amount of music up until that point, I felt obliged to get a job in an office. But working in banking never felt right. At 24 years old, I quit my job, went back to live with my parents and started auditioning. From there I got my first professional job as a lead singer on a cruise ship and I have sung ever since.

You’ve been singing and recording for over 15 years now. If you could tell your younger self one thing, what would it be?

When I was younger I assumed musicians with more experience and confidence were better than me and so I tried to emulate them. But our voice is like a fingerprint and no two people sound exactly alike, even singing in the same pitch and style. My goal now isn’t to be perfect, it’s to be true to my unique sound.

What live performance you’ve given means the most to you and why?

I was singing with a live band at The Café de Paris nightclub in London’s West End and the technical equipment failed. I had to entertain the crowd until it was fixed and realised – whilst using humour – that any live audience wants you to succeed. They are

only relaxed and happy if you are. From then on, audiences felt like friends rather than terrifying judges.

What’s your creative process like – chaotic or disciplined?

If I don’t make singing the priority on any work day, any desire to progress and improve will get crushed under the endless to do list involved in motherhood, the administration in moving country and earning a living. Without discipline I will always shy away from the infinitely more sensitive and vulnerable task of creativity.

How do you see your musical future in Marbella?

The events I’ve been doing so far have been at private parties and that is a vein in which I would like to continue. Some of them I have been providing the background music at cocktail hour; others have been more obvious performance. In whatever setting, the host or hostess generally has a clear idea of what it is they want. It’s my job to provide entertainment as close to their vision as possible.

People say life goes in seven year cycles. What has been the biggest change in the last cycle?

I love London and made it my home for many years, but it’s a tiring city to live in. When I found out I was giving birth to twins, London didn’t make sense anymore. I knew Marbella well by then and knew that it was changing. The incredible climate and friendly, relaxed attitude still attracts millions of holiday goers, but increasingly, focussed and successful people are choosing Marbella as a place to live all year around and that brings to it an edge and energy which I find attractive. As a performer, the plethora of private events in Marbella and the music scene in Malaga provide ample opportunity for me to sing.

What role does music play in your joy?

Music IS my joy! I’m so aware of the thousands of uplifting or exciting ways other people spend their time and sometimes I wonder if I should be pursuing other interests instead, just to mix it up a bit. But when something makes you fizz with excitement after only a few seconds, why bother?

Tell us something about yourself I grew up in Spain, living in both Marbella and Sevilla. Growing up with a combination of English and Spanish values is something that I am sure many people living in Marbella can relate to. Before entering the marketing industry my world revolved around Golf. I was extremely fortunate to have the chance to pursue a career in professional golf, sounds very glamorous but it’s an extremely cutthroat world to compete in! I believe the experience of elite sport shapes who you are as a person and breeds determination.

How did you come to join Manifesto?

Just before COVID-19, Manifesto was purchased by a British Group named BCP MEDIA GROUP. Following the lockdown, I met the owners several times over dinner with my fiancée, who is the Director of Operations, and has been with Manifesto for almost 8 years. The conversations naturally led to the possibility of me forming part of this new chapter and taking on the commercial side of the business.

What is the main role of a Commercial Director?

At the heart of the role is growth and relationships. The combination of improving sales through the brands perception, market positioning and key partnerships have helped fuel both recent success and the consolidation of Manifesto’s position as the leading agency on the Costa del Sol. We have seen fantastic growth the past two years, opening 2 new offices in the UK and Gibraltar. With an exciting new transition to Manifesto Group, we have just acquired local long-standing marketing agency Peppermint.

What is the biggest challenge in marketing today?

Ai and the constant battle to innovate. Ai is here to stay and as businesses scramble to adapt to this new world, we want to be at the forefront of how it can benefit them. It is important to note that many use it for the sake of simply being involved. Let your agency do the testing and guide you.

Innovation is a great trigger word, but what we mean by innovation is the constant striving for new ways of optimising

our clients’ results. The world of Real Estate lead generation is one that Manifesto is at the forefront. We are currently working extremely hard behind the scenes to look at how we can bring Fintech advancements into Real Estate marketing, with the goal of improving the quality of leads and provide targeted campaigns based on purchasing data.

How do you maintain client trust and attract new ones?

Our client churn is very low, which we put down to, a results driven approach, honest reporting, and the fact the team will always go above and beyond.

What are your plans for the future of Manifesto?

In the short term we look to continue our growth and have our sights set on a new potential addition to Manifesto Group. With years of experience in the restaurant industry, we both recognized that this was the right project to combine our shared passion for food, hospitality, and creating memorable experiences. This dynamic has allowed us to be both creative and strategic in the decision-making process. We’ve enjoyed every step of building Planta Bistrot and Deli Market, and our ability to collaborate so seamlessly has made the journey even more fulfilling.

Opening a business always comes with obstacles. What has been the biggest challenge you’ve faced so far as partners and how did you overcome it?

Challenges are inevitable in any business, but we’ve learned to face them with a positive and solutions-driven mindset. As a team, we support each other through tough times, knowing that resilience is key. We focus on keeping a customer-centric approach, constantly improving our operations and ensuring that we deliver exceptional food and service. Hello Fabian, thanks for receiving us. Could you start by telling us a little bit about your background and how Back came about?

Back was conceived out of personal and professional interest by David Olivas (chef) and myself to give free rein to the gastronomic project we were both dreaming of. We met while working in Ronda and then in Michelin-starred restaurants in Marbella, and although we went our separate ways, life brought us together again in Back.

What do you think is the key to your job as head waiter and sommelier?

My job is one leg of the stool on which the concept of our restaurant rests. My daily challenge is to ensure that the customer not only enjoys, but also understands and feels what we are trying to convey in the kitchen, the wine cellar and the service. To achieve this, the most important thing is that the team understands our philosophy. That’s what makes everything run perfectly.

What are the biggest challenges you face on a daily basis as a sommelier and head waiter?

My daily challenge is to pass on my enthusiasm for the profession to my team, and to the customers the pleasure of a gastronomy like Back’s, based on many years of experience, hard work and a lot of research.

Wine pairing is an integral part of the Back dining experience.

How do you decide which wine to serve with a dish?

The meaning of the word says it all. We work hand in hand to create a complete experience. A well-chosen wine is not just an

accompaniment. It is an element that complements, balances and enriches a dish. The freedom and preferences of the customer are also important and must be respected, nurtured and guided to achieve that balance.

In the world of gastronomy, trends are constantly changing.

What’s your opinion on the evolution of cuisine and service in recent years?

There has been a clear ‘boom’ in the sector, with new restaurants and bars opening almost every day in major cities... But there are also closures. The establishments that remain are those that know, love and feel this hard yet very rewarding profession. We need to invest in training and in public or subsidised hotel management and catering colleges. There is a shortage of skilled labour and we are in a country and a region that clearly lives on the service sector, which we dominate.

What wines would you recommend to someone starting out in the world of wine?

Discover Andalusia and its wines – you’ll be pleasantly surprised!

How do you see the future of Back in the coming years?

We’ve achieved a lot in the last few years. Since November 2023, we have evolved from a gastro bar to a haute cuisine restaurant and from there to a Michelin-starred restaurant. We intend to continue on this path: working towards excellence and, above all, the pleasure of those who visit us.

What’s your motto?

Humility, simplicity and consistency.

In Shanghai Express, she played the mysterious Shanghai Lily, a character that would cement her image as a femme fatale.

From an early age, Marie Magdalene showed an interest in music and poetry. She studied violin with the intention of becoming a concert pianist, but a wrist injury cut short her career.

It was then that she enrolled in drama classes and discovered her passion for acting. Using the name ‘Marlene’, a combination of Marie and Magdalene, she began to forge her personality on stage. And so she made her mark, with no more experience than her enthusiasm.

FROM GERMANY TO WORLDWIDE RECOGNITION Dietrich’s career took off in the Germany of the Weimar Republic, a period of cultural flourishing. It was in Berlin that she met director Josef von Sternberg, who knew from the start that Marlene was a diamond in the rough. Her performance in The Blue Angel in 1930 catapulted her to international stardom.

The impact of her performance was such that Hollywood fell at her feet and welcomed her with open arms.

Once in the United States, Dietrich and von Sternberg continued their fruitful collaboration, she as his muse and he as Pygmalion. Under his direction, the actress became an image of sophisticated, ambiguous glamour, with films such as Morocco, where her scene kissing a woman defied the moral canons of the time.

In time, Dietrich proved to be much more than just a director’s favourite leading lady.

She reinvented herself with films such as Blonde Venus and The Devil Is a Woman, demonstrating her versatility in playing characters with a magnetic mix of toughness and fragility. From 1940, however, her career began to suffer ups and downs. Audiences’ tastes were changing and Hollywood was giving opportunities to other young actresses.

During the Second World War, Dietrich’s political activism began to shape her career. She became an outspoken opponent of Nazism and collaborated with the US Army by entertaining Allied troops at the front. Although this gesture earned her great enmity in Germany, it led to her being awarded the Medal of Freedom by the United States government and the French Legion d’Honneur.

With the end of the war, her film career became less prominent, although she still had memorable roles in films such as Billy Wilder’s Witness for the Prosecution, where she proved

However, despite her professional success, she went through a series of sentimental failures with great personalities of the time such as Edith Piaf, Greta Garbo, Gary Cooper, John Wayne or Orson Welles.

The final stage of Marlene Dietrich’s life was marked by solitude. She settled in Paris, where she lived out her final years away from the public eye, maintaining an aura of mystery until the end. In keeping with her independent spirit, Dietrich avoided ageing in front of the cameras, opting to preserve her diva image in the memories of her fans. She passed away in 1992, but her legend is more alive than ever.

HUGE SUCCESS AT ROTARY INTERACT A L O H A’ S 3 R D G A L A D I N N E R

On January 31st, Rotary Interact Aloha hosted its 3rd annual gala dinner under the theme “Winter Wonderland” — a magical evening led by Club President Margherita Vernuccio and organized by 32 dedicated students aged 15 to 18 from Aloha College, all committed to service and social impact.

The event was sponsored and supported by Rotary Club Marbella and Rotary Club Marbella Guadalmina, with Susana Urbano and Lorraine Powell serving as club mentors. It brought together 152 attendees and raised an impressive €20,000.

Distinguished guests included District Governor Dimas Rizzo, Interact District Representative Rafael Veit, Governor-Elect Carmen Andreu, seven Rotary club presidents from the region, and many well-known faces from Marbella.

The evening featured an inspiring speech from the Mayor of Marbella and a heartfelt presentation by the Nicolo’s Lightning Foundation.

Funds raised will benefit local charities AVOI and Nicolo’s Lightning Foundation, as well as the international project Medical Mission Network.

Entertainment highlights included a special performance by Jimena Bega, followed by an exciting raffle and auction — the high point of the evening.

The Interact Aloha club expressed sincere gratitude to all sponsors — especially Komoder, Puente Romano, and GT Race Marbella — for their generous support, as well as to everyone who contributed to making the night unforgettable.
