Le terre promesse del business si chiamano Qatar, Kuwait, Arabia Saudita, Emirati Arabi, Oman. Il trend non è certo nuovo ma la situazione economica della vecchia Europa, e dell'Italia in particolare, ha ingigantito il fenomeno. Oggi la corsa all'internazionalizzazione, alla ricerca di business opportunities e partners locali, vede protagoniste un numero sempre maggiore di aziende grandi e piccole dello Stivale.

The promised lands of the business are called Qatar, Kuwait, Saudi Arabia, UAE, Oman. The trend is not new but the economic contingency in Europe, and in Italy, in particular, has strengthen the opportunity. Today, a wide number of small, medium and big-sized Italian companies are protagonists of an internationalization process through the search of business opportunities and local partners.

a un paio d'anni il Qatar è indubbiamente il paese più cool.

Nel 2011, infatti, è nata a Doha "Elite Qatar" una società che ha il compito di aprire alle aziende made in Italy una porta di accesso esclusiva al mercato unico del Medio Oriente. La mission dei fondatori, lo sceicco Nasser Al-Thani, membro della Famiglia Reale qatariota e Luigi Lauro, Chairman di Excellence World, era quella di creare un hub globale per aiutare le imprese made in Italy a cogliere le grandi opportunità di sviluppo in quel paese e, più in generale, in tutta l'Area del Golfo.

atar is the coolest country: in 2011, in fact, Elite Qatar was born with the aim to give a privileged access to the Middle East Region for the Italian companies. The mission of the founders, Sheikh Nasser Al-Thani, a member of the Qatari Royal Family, and Luigi Lauro, Chairman of Excellence World, was to create a global hub for the Italian companies in order to allow them to catch the business development opportunities in that country and, generally speaking, across all the GCC area.

Da anni l'export italiano verso il Qatar è in crescita, gli ultimi dati ufficiali disponibili parlano di un fatturato di 765,7 milioni di euro per il 2011 e, addirittura, di 1.025 milioni per il 2012. Macchinari, metalli e prodotti in metallo, mobili, mezzi di trasporto (soprattutto navi, locomotive, mezzi militari e veicoli spaziali), questi i segmenti in cui si è registrata la maggiore richiesta.

In terra qatariota sono presenti oggi tanti marchi molto famosi, Astaldi, Rizzani De Eccher e Impregilo per il settore costruzioni, la Saipem e la Marcegaglia Gulf per i prodotti chimici e la metallurgia, l'Agusta Westland per i mezzi. Ultimo arrivato il Prysmian Group, leader nella progettazione e posa di cavi ad alta tensione. Prysmian ha acquisito un nuovo contratto del valore totale di circa 80 milioni di euro per progetti di espansione della rete di trasmissione di energia elettrica da KAHRAMAA, Qatar General Electricity and Water corporation. I lavori sono cominciati già da alcuni mesi, entro il 2015 è previsto il completamento dell'opera. Molto bene vanno le cose anche con l'Arabia Saudita. Dal 2010 al 2013 è stato un autentico crescendo rossiniano: 3,7 miliardi, poi 4, diventati quasi 4,5 miliardi di euro nella passata stagione. Leggermente peggiore l'outlook per il 2014, stando alla cifra (1,37 miliardi di euro) registrata nel primo quadrimestre. Gli investimenti italiani nel Regno sono concentrati nei tradizionali settori dell’energia, petrolchimico, infrastrutture e difesa.

Italian exports to Qatar have been growing for several years: the latest official figures talk about € 765.7 ml. sales in 2011 and, indeed, € 1,025 ml. in 2012.

Machinery, metals, furniture, transportation equipment (ships, locomotives, military and space vehicles) are the market segments with the biggest demand.

Right now, in Qatar there are many famous brands, such as Astaldi, Rizzani De Eccher and Impregilo for the construction sector, Saipem and Marcegaglia Gulf for chemicals and metallurgy, Agusta Westland for the military vehicles.

The latest brand, Prysmian Group, a leader in the design and installation of high voltage cables, has got a € 80 ml. deal for the expansion of the electricity transmission, from KAHRAMAA, the Qatar General Electricity and Water Corporation.

The works began some months ago, and it is expected they will finish in 2015.

The things are going well with Saudi Arabia, too.

From 2010 to 2013 it was a constant increasing trend: € 3.7 bl., then 4 and almost € 4.5 bl. in the last season. Slightly worse the outlook for 2014, according to the figure (€ 1.37 bl.) registered in the first quarter. The Italian investments are focused on the traditional sectors of energy, petrochemicals, infrastructure and defense.

Le aree con maggiori prospettive (healthcare, energie rinnovabili e grandi infrastrutture) sono fra le più promettenti e di maggiore interesse per i nostri investimenti futuri. In Arabia Saudita sono circa sessanta le aziende italiane che operano direttamente, ovvero attraverso joint-ventures, con partners sauditi. Tra i grandi brand di casa nostra troviamo la Italferr, per i sistemi ferroviari ad alta tecnologia, la Selex, Italcementi, Iveco (per i mezzi di trasporto), Safilo Group.

E non manca il food, naturalmente. Ci riferiamo alla Ligabue Catering e alla Ferrero, tra i primi a credere con forza nel mercato arabo.

Fino al 2016 sarà grande crescita, così l'economia degli Emirati Arabi Uniti, primo cliente dell'Italia tra i paesi arabi ed anche primo mercato extra-europeo di riferimento per noi. I settori che vanno meglio sono moda e design (gioielli, arredamento, abbigliamento), della metalmeccanica, della metallurgia e della chimica, basta vedere i dati. La gioielleria ha fatto registrare un +44,69% rispetto al 2011, subito dietro computer ed elettronica (+41,34%) e metalli e lavorati (+29,65%).

Dal 2011 al 2013 il valore complessivo del nostro export è cresciuto da 4,7 a 5,5 miliardi di euro. La presenza imprenditoriale italiana negli EAU è rappresentata da circa 300 aziende, tra quelle che hanno una propria filiale e altre che preferiscono operare tramite agenti locali. Davvero tanti ed eterogenei i brand presenti.

The most potential growth regards healthcare, renewable energy and infrastructure. They are the most interesting for our future investments. In Saudi Arabia there are about sixty Italian companies operating directly or through joint ventures with Saudi partners.

Among them, we find Italfer, for high-tech rail systems, Selex, Italcementi, Iveco (transportation), Safilo Group.

And it doeas not lack the food, of course: Ligabue Catering and Ferrero, amongst the first ones who believed in the Arab market.

There will be large growth until 2016, and UAE will be the first consumer of made in Italy, amongst the Arab countries and also the first not European market for us.

The best sectors are fashion and design (jewelery, furniture, clothing), mechanical engineering, metallurgy and chemistry. The jewelery registered + 44.69% compared to 2011, just behind computers and electronics (+ 41.34%) and metals and products (+ 29.65%).

From 2011 to 2013 the total value of our exports grew from € 4.7 bl. to € 5.5bl. The Italian business presence in the UAE is represented by about 300 companies, including those ones are operating through an own branch and the other ones are operating through local agents.

There are so many several and different brands: UniCredit Bank AG, Intesa San Paolo, Continental Jewels (mineral processing), Roma Trading (food), Pirelli Tyre, Pasta Queen LLC, Luxottica, Maserati, Finmeccanica, Mapei, Ansaldo Energia, Alitalia, Generali.

Da UniCredit Bank AG e Intesa San Paolo a Continental Jewels (lavorazione dei minerali) e Roma Trading (prodotti alimentari), dalla Pirelli Tyre alla Pasta Regina LLC passando per Luxottica, Maserati, Finmeccanica, Mapei, Ansaldo energia, Alitalia, Assicurazioni generali.

E ora cambiamo scenario e andiamo in Oman.

Il Sultanato ha davanti a sé una strada tracciata, le PMI. Grazie a ingenti investimenti in tale direzione, infatti, la leadership delle nostre aziende più grandi che producono macchinari industriali (prima voce dell'export italiano in quel paese, fino ad oggi) è destinata a traballare.

Si stanno aprendo, infatti, nuovi mercati e relative nuove opportunità in settori fino a ieri penalizzati.

Parliamo di turismo, energia, ambiente, trasporti marittimi, acquacultura e pesca, sicurezza alimentare e sanità.

Lo scorso marzo proprio l’Oman ha ospitato la prima sfilata di Alta Moda Italiana, realizzata da Gattinoni assieme ad una mostra degli abiti storici della Casa.

Confindustria Assafrica e Mediterraneo ha firmato lo scorso anno un Memorandum of Understanding con la Camera di Commercio Omanita.

La Camera di Commercio di Sassari ha ospitato una delegazione della Camera di Commercio Omanita ed effettuerà nuove missioni lì.

Insomma, il panorama è in piena evoluzione. Le società italiane operano molto bene in Oman nella progettazione e nella realizzazione delle infrastrutture di strade e viadotti, realizzazione di porti turistici e dighe, scuole e ospedali.

Non è un caso, dunque, che nel Sultanato siano sempre più

The Sultanate has a main focus, the small and mediumsized companies. After significant investments in this direction, the leadership of our largest industrial machinery producers is likely to wobble. There are new markets and new opportunities in other sectors, such as tourism, energy, environment, shipping, aquaculture and fisheries, food security and health. In March, Oman hosted the first show of Italian Haute Couture, designed and organized by Gattinoni together to an exhibition of its historical clothing.

Confindustria Assafrica e Mediterraneo signed last year a Memorandum of Understanding with Oman Chamber of Commerce. The Chamber of Commerce of Sassari hosted a delegation from Oman. The scenario is rapidly changing. The Italian companies operate very well in Oman in the design and construction of infrastructure: roads and bridges, harbors and dams, schools and hospitals.

In the Sultanate, there is an increasing number of architects and companies specialized in design and construction, as well as import-export companies. Generally speaking, the presence of Italian there has more than tripled over the last year. It seems that Al Koor Tourism is doing great business with the incoming: despite of the name, it is an Italian company that is able to sell very well the Oman to the tourists who are interested in visiting it. Kuwait, too, is remarkable. The Kuwait Investment Authority (KIA), the world's oldest sovereign investment fund, decided to invest in Fondo Strategico Italiano € 500 ml. in order to support small and medium-sized Italian companies.

In recent years, Kuwait has shown a strong willingness to attract foreign investments through the introduction of new economic laws which, on the one hand, promote the investment, the rights of intellectual property and trade relations and, on the other hand, promote the private sector in economy through the privatization program and public-private partnerships and opening new areas for private investments, mainly in infrastructure.

The most common names in the local business are Trevi Foundations and Pizzarotti construction, Bank UBAE and Baggio Spa (transportation and storage).

Without forgetting the primary role of Italian companies in implementing the subway in Kuwait City. Our export to Kuwait is now € 800 bl. compared to € 580 bl. in 2011.

Un operatore che pare stia facendo affari d'oro con l'incoming è l'Al Koor Tourism, a scapito del nome un soggetto italianissimo, che riesce a vendere molto bene il prodotto-Oman ai turisti interessati a visitarlo. Rimarcabile anche il caso kuwaitiano. Il Kuwait Investment Authority (KIA), il fondo sovrano più antico del mondo, ha deciso di investire nel Fondo Strategico Italiano una cifra pari a 500 milioni di euro, a sostegno delle piccole e medie imprese tricolori. Negli ultimi anni il Kuwait ha dimostrato di voler attrarre maggiori investimenti esteri introducendo nuove leggi economiche che, da un lato, favoriscono il clima degli investimenti, i diritti di proprietà intellettuale e le relazioni commerciali e, dall’altro, promuovono il settore privato nell'economia attraverso il programma di privatizzazioni e di partenariato pubblico-privato e l'apertura di nuove aree agli investimenti privati, soprattutto nel campo delle infrastrutture. Per cui i nomi di gran lunga più ricorrenti nel business-system locale sono quelli di Trevi Foundations e Pizzarotti costruzioni, Banca UBAE e Baggio SPA (per trasporto e immagazzinaggio).

Da non dimenticare, inoltre, il ruolo primario che le aziende italiane stanno avendo e avranno nella realizzazione dell'attesissima metropolitana di Kuwait City.

Il nostro export nei confronti di quel paese vale ormai 800 miliardi di euro a fronte dei 580 del 2011.

Non pensate alla stereotipata immagine che noi occidentali abbiamo degli Emirati arabi. Ad esempio la capitale del Qatar vi potrà sorprendere con le sue attività culturali, con il suo sistema di informazione, con una rotazione di eventi internazionali che fanno di Doha un centro nevralgico ed una passerella mondiale.

Do not think about the stereotype which western people have about arabic world. for example, the capital of Qatar will surprise you with its cultural activities, with its information system, with a rotation of international events that make Doha an hub and a bridge world.

rrivate all’aeroporto con il vostro volo, sul lussuoso Boeing della Qatar Airways. L’Aeroporto di Doha forse non è così futuristico come ve lo immaginavate, anzi notate che è anche un po’ piccolo. Ma allora, quello che probabilmente non sapete, è che ad aprile ne è stato inaugurato uno nuovo e gli hub delle dieci compagnie operanti a Doha, man mano vengono spostati nel futuristico Aeroporto Internazionale di Hamad il cui look è stato ispirato ad un'oasi del deserto: molti dei suoi edifici sono caratterizzati da motivi ispirati all'acqua, come i tetti che ricordano le onde e decorati con piante del deserto che vengono irrigate da un complesso sistema di acqua riciclata.

ou arrive at the airport with your flight, the luxorious Qatar Airways' Boeing. The Doha Airport is perhaps not as futuristic as you imagined it, or rather note that it is also a bit small.

But then, what you probably do not know, is that in April a new one was opened and the hub of the ten companies operating in Doha gradually are moved to the futuristic International Airport Hamad, whose look was inspired by an oasis of wilderness: many of its buildings are characterized by motifs inspired by water, such as roofs remind to the waves and are decorated with desert plants, that are irrigated by a complex system of recycled water.

Comunque a bordo di una lussuosa limousine raggiungete il W Doha Hotel & Residence, un complesso cinque stelle da circa 250 euro a notte. Nel WDH entrate attraverso un sontuoso ingresso, coperto da una volta a vela che di notte viene completamente illuminata. E’ abbastanza vicino al mare e non lontano dal Conference Center. Salite su fino al dodicesimo piano, dove avete prenotato la vostra Cool Corner Suite (quelle dal decimo piano in poi sono le sistemazioni più tranquille). Da li potete godervi anche una notevole vista sul mare.

Certo che tra la seducente spa, la piscina olimpionica, le delizie offerte dai tre ristoranti e da un bar-café, sareste tentati di restare a godervi la vostra suite e tutto il resto, ma non avete certo fatto cinque ore e mezzo di volo dall’Italia per questo.

Doha è una città piena di attrattive e soprattutto dotata di un mix di attività che non sono solo quelle che seducono normalmente il turista, che in questo caso forse turista non è, o almeno non lo è nel senso più tradizionale del termine. E’ infatti la moderna cultura araba che può costituire una sorpresa e un’attrazione. Se non siete quindi attratti solo dal lusso o dalle futuristiche soluzioni architettonico-urbanistiche, che avete ammirato nei dieci chilometri che separano l’aeroporto dall’albergo, allora siete nel posto giusto e quel posto si chiama ad-Dawha.

However, on board of a luxurious limousine, you will reach the W Doha Hotel & Residences, a five-star complex of about 250 Euros per night. You enter in WDH through a beautiful entrance, covered by a vault which is all lit up at night. It’s quite close to the sea and not far from the Conference Center. Go up to the twelfth floor, where you booked your Cool Corner Suite (ones on the tenth floor rooms are quieter). From there you can also enjoy an impressive view of the sea.

Of course between the seductive spa, lap pool, the delights offered by three restaurants and a bar-café, you would be tempted to stay and enjoy your suite and everything else, but you haven’t certainly made five and a half hours flight from Italy for that.

Doha is a city full of attractions and above all with a mix of activities that are not only those that normally seduce tourists, which in this case perhaps a tourist is not, or at least not in the traditional sense of the term.

It’s in fact the modern Arab culture that may come as a surprise and an attraction.

If you aren’t only attracted by the luxury or the futuristic architectural and urban solutions which you have admired in the ten miles between the airport from the hotel, then you are in the right place and that place is called ad-Dawha.

E’ lei, Dhoa, la capitale del Qatar. Un modernissimo concentrato d’informazione, cultura, ricerca e innovazione anche nell’area business. Una metropoli tecnologica, proiettata nel futuro, e non solo nell’aspetto, ma anche nella sua vocazione più profonda: essere il centro nevralgico di una serie di eventi e manifestazioni a livello internazionale. Si tratta dell’aria vorticosa e cosmopolita che si respira d’altronde nella capitale del Qatar, che, se non lo sapevate, è la sede di Al Jazeera (la prima e più importante emittente televisiva araba), che ospita l’Education City, (un center con campus universitari, istituti di ricerca e centri per l’innovazione), che è il posto dove annualmente ha luogo il prestigioso WISE (World Innovation Summit for Education).

E in più, se non capitate nel periodo giusto, potreste non sapere che l’interscambio di cultura, arte e sport tra Qatar e Italia non è certo di quelli marginali. Per fare solo qualche esempio, dall’1 al 6 dicembre il nostro “Giffoni Film Festival”, ha partecipato all'Ajyal Youth Film Festival curato dal Doha Film Institute.

Per il secondo anno consecutivo, i ragazzi di Giffoni gestiranno quindi dei laboratori per ogni singola competenza, formando gli staff dei giovani del Qatar.

It is Dhoa, the capital of Qatar. A modern focus of information, culture, research and innovation, also in the business area. A technological metropolis, projected into the future, and not only in appearance but also in its deepest vocation: to be the nerve center of a series of events around the world.

This is whirling and cosmopolitan air that you breathe in the capital of Qatar, which, if you did not know, is the HQ of Al Jazeera (the first and most important Arab television station), home to the Education City (a center with campuses, research institutions and innovation centers), which is the place where every year the prestigious WISE (World Innovation Summit for Education) takes place.

What's more, if you do not stay here at the right time, you might not know that the exchange of culture, art and sport between Qatar and Italy is not certainly marginal. To give just a few examples, from 1st to 6th December our Giffoni Film Festival participated all'Ajyal Youth Film Festival, curated by the Doha Film Institute. For the second year in a row, the boys of Giffoni will manage the laboratories for each competency, training the staff of the youth of Qatar.

E poi c’è lo sport. Infatti la partita per l’aggiudicazione della Supercoppa Tim 2014, XXVII edizione del trofeo, si disputerà proprio qui, allo “Al Sadd-Jassim Bin Hamad Stadium”. Ma lo sport è anche quello internazionale.

Il 2015 aprirà con il torneo di tennis ATP di Doha, il 5 gennaio prossimo si disputeranno la vittoria grandi star della racchetta come Rafa Nadal, Djokovic, Berdych, e Gasquet.

Questo non vi esime dal guardarvi intorno e fare delle puntate in varie mete nei dintorni, ad esempio alla State Grand Mosque, la suggestiva struttura della moschea più grande del Qatar capace di ospitare ben duecentomila persone in preghiera. Oppure raggiungere la sorprendente area detta Film City, luogo ideale per scattare foto memorabili: un deserto con delle particolari sculture naturali che somigliano a grandi funghi. E ancora il Museo dell'arte islamica, un’esposizione raggiungibile dalla Corniche Street, dove potete ammirare oggetti antichi, manoscritti, armi, cimeli e altre interessanti testimonianze storiche del mondo arabo.

Terminiamo questo succinto pacchetto di proposte con Katara, un bellissimo angolo di Doha, situato vicino alla spiaggia, dove è possibile godersi un paio d'ore tra i suoi molti ristoranti, un'area giochi e sport destinata ai bambini, spazi per attività culturali e, ultima ma non ultima, una tradizionale moschea (Masjid) del Qatar.

That will not remove the obligation to look around and shopping sprees in nearby destinations, such as the State Grand Mosque, the impressive structure of the largest mosque in the Qatar, able to hold up to two hundred thousand people in prayer.

You get to the amazing area called Film City, place to take memorable photos, a desert with the particular natural sculptures that look like large mushrooms.

And yet the Museum of Islamic Art, an exhibition accessible from the Corniche Street, where you can admire antiques, manuscripts, weapons and other interesting historical sites in the Arab world.

We end this brief set of proposals with Katara, a beautiful corner of Doha, close to the beach, where you can enjoy a few hours of its many restaurants, a playground and sports to children, spaces for cultural activities and last but not least, a traditional mosque (Masjid) in Qatar.

E se, durante la vostra permanenza attraversando le moderne vie di Doha, vi imbattete in uno strano edificio, date ragione alla vostra prima impressione… sì, quella è proprio una chiesa cristiana, The Church of Our Lady of the Rosary costruita nel 2008. E se vi capita di vedere delle donne al volante, ricordatevi che qui il gentil sesso può prendere la patente. E ancora, se le sentite parlare di politica non vi dovete stupite, in Qatar le donne votano dal 1997.

Insomma una dimostrazione di come l’intreccio tra la grande ricchezza fornita dal petrolio e la cultura musulmana possa dar vita ad una moderna concezione della vita e delle attività di una metropoli. Doha è destinata sempre più a conquistare la ribalta internazionale grazie alle sue innovative soluzioni, alle sue iniziative, ai suoi eventi che ne faranno un centro di interesse crescente, destinato ad attrarre un flusso sempre maggiore di turisti e visitatori.

And if you happen to see women behind the wheel, remember that here the gentler sex can get license.

And again, if you hear them talk about politics you must not be surprised, in Qatar women vote since 1997.

So a demonstration of how the interplay between the wealth provided by oil and Muslim culture can give birth to a modern conception of life and activities of a metropolis. Doha is ever more destined to conquer the international limelight thanks to its innovative solutions, its initiatives, its events that will make it a center of growing interest, intended to attract an ever-increasing flow of tourists and visitors.

Al Qatar National Convention Center di Doha, dal 10 al 12 novembre, oltre 240 aziende italiane hanno presentato a tutto il Medio Oriente una selezione di prodotti Made in Italy: un progetto che ha coinvolto aziende di tutto il territorio nazionale, con lo scopo di mettere in diretto contatto settori d'eccellenza italiani e la domanda di grande interesse manifestata dal Qatar.

The crowd is that of big events. At Qatar National Convention Center in Doha, from 10th to 12nd November, more than 240 Italian companies presented to Middle East world a selection of products made in Italy: a project which involved companies throughout all the country, with the aim of putting a direct link between the Italian excellence and the great interest shown by Qatar.

Un esempio: l’ultimo Webit Congress, - prestigioso evento internazionale che mira a promuovere, sostenere e connettere i mercati digital, tech e telco dell’area medio orientale e africana-, dove sono state premiate come migliori start up, tra le oltre 800 imprese selezionate da tutto il mondo, ben due italiane. E certamente non è un caso se è stata scelta la città di Dubai per il prossimo Webit Congress, fissato già per il 15 aprile del 2015.

ut the Middle East has been for years the privileged target of hi-tech companies. It is not a coincidence that Italy is always amongst the first ones at the most important events of new technologies in the world. An example: at the last Webit Congress - the prestigious international event with the aim to promote, support and link from MEA Region – amongst more than 800 companies selected from all around the world, two Italian companies have been awarded. And it is not a coincidence if the next town for the Webit Congress will be Dubai, on the 15th April 2015.

Un territorio, quello dei paesi arabi, dove gli italiani si stanno facendo conoscere per una strategia che sembra a prima vista da kamikaze. E‘ infatti un vero e proprio paradosso quello a cui stiamo assistendo: mentre il governo preme affinché l’Italia sfrutti il suo poco petrolio e tagli gli incentivi al fotovoltaico, chi sin qui ha cercato di fare business con il solare si sta rivolgendo ai mercati del Golfo, il paradiso del greggio. Tra tutte, da segnalare il caso della TerniEnergia, green company quotata sul segmento Star di Borsa Italiana che, dopo il via libera dell’assemblea dei soci all’aumento di capitale per l’acquisizione di Free Energia, intende varare entro l’anno un nuovo piano industriale in grado di garantire una crescita dei ricavi. Per loro la parola d’ordine è diversificazione, non solo dei settori d’attività, ma anche dei mercati, con un impegno crescente a trovare all’estero quegli sbocchi che scelte politiche quanto meno miopi hanno sbarrato in Italia. In particolare negli Emirati la nuova società sta partecipando ad una procedura in joint venture attraverso la sottoscrizione di un accordo che prevede la costituzione di una società denominata TerniEnergia Gulf Llc, con sede ad Abu Dhabi, partecipata al 51% da Khalid Al Hamed Group Llc e al 49% da TerniEnergia, che opererà nei paesi del Medio Oriente e del Gulf Cooperation Council.

Dunque un mercato da conquistare con intelligenza e rapidità anche perché,- non bisogna lasciarsi ingannare, il mondo arabo, pur guardando con interesse a molti dei nostri brevetti, di certo non sta aspettando la tecnologia europea per muovere i suoi primi passi nel mondo dell’Hi-tech.

Un esempio chiaro è il caso della Palestina, che prova a darsi un futuro almeno sulla carta, con un progetto di smart city in Cisgiordania (West Bank) denominato ‘Rawabi City’ (www.rawabi.ps). Un futuro difficile da immaginare oggi, dopo l’ennesima guerra con Israele che non sembra mai trovare la parola fine, ma almeno questa città del futuro ha l’effetto di proiettare la Palestina tutta verso un nuovo orizzonte, fatto di pace, sviluppo economico e nuove tecnologie applicate a diversi settori strategici per la crescita.

The Arab countries are a market where the Italians are beginning to be well known for a strategy that seems at first sight to be kamikaze. In fact it seems a real paradox: while the Italian government is pushing in exploitation of its oil and is cutting the incentives for photovoltaic, the Italian companies already engaged in photovoltaic are beginning to look at the Gulf area, just the paradise of oil. Among all, Terni Energia, a green company listed at the Star segment of the Italian Stock Exchange, got the green light by the shareholders for the capital increase in order to acquire Free Energy. And it means to launch a new business plan within the end of the year with the aim of increasing revenues.

At Terni Energia, the key word is diversification, not only in terms of business sectors, but also of markets, with a growing commitment to find abroad those opportunities that internal myopic political choices have blocked.

In particular, in the Emirates, the newco is engaged in a joint venture aimed to the launch of Terni Energia Gulf Llc, based in Abu Dhabi, whose 51% is owned by Khalid Al Hamed Group Llc and 49% by Terni Energia, which will operate in the Middle East and the Gulf Cooperation Council area. So a market to be conquered with intelligence and speed because, the Arab world is looking with interest to our patents, but it is not waiting for the European technology to move in the Hi-tech world. A clear example is the case of Palestine, which is trying to give itself a future, at least on paper, with a project of smart city in Cisgiordania (West Bank) called Rawabi City (www.rawabi.ps). A future hard to be imagined today, after another endless war with Israel, but the project smart city has the effect of moving forward all Palestine towards a new horizon of peace, economic development and new technologies applied to several strategic areas for growth. The presentation of Rawabi Smart City in Italy and in Europe (even though a first presentation toke place in the early 2009 in London in order to search for lenders) took place during the International Building Exhibition - SAIE 2014 (together to the latest edition of Smart City Exhibition) in Bologna.

La presentazione di ‘Rawabi Smart City’ in Italia e in Europa (anche se già nel 2009 a Londra è avvenuto un primo annuncio per la ricerca di finanziatori) ha avuto luogo in occasione delle giornate del Salone internazionale dell’industrializzazione edilizia – SAIE 2014 (in concomitanza con la recente edizione di Smart City Exhibition) a Bologna Fiere. Presente all’evento Shefa’a Saleh, responsabile di area della società di sviluppo palestinese Bayti Real Estate Investment Company, proprietà congiunta delle emiratine Qatari Diar e Massar International, che ha illustrato a grandi linee le basi del progetto.

Rawabi City, che sorgerà a 25 chilometri a Nord di Gerusalemme (circa 9 chilometri a Nord di Ramallah), sarà composta da iniziali 5 mila unità abitative a costo contenuto, per 40 mila abitanti circa, definite come accessibili al ceto medio palestinese (prezzo medio 45-50 mila dollari per 130 mq), disposte in 23 quartieri.

Al suo interno, ovviamente, diversi edifici destinati al settore commerciale e immobiliare, per uffici, centri commerciali, spazi dedicati all’intrattenimento, aree verdi, piste ciclabili, hotel, cinema, sale conferenza e tanta fibra ottica per connettere tutto l’area urbana. Obiettivo finale del progetto è la creazione di una nuova città che sappia svolgere un ruolo di stimolo all’economia palestinese e di tutto il Medio Oriente, offrendo vantaggi agli investitori, alle start up e alle aziende che intenderanno stipulare partnership in loco. Durante la sua costruzione ci sarà lavoro per oltre 10 mila persone, poi, una volta avviata la smart city, ci saranno circa 5 mila posti di lavoro da assegnare. Nel progetto anche la costruzione di una nuova infrastruttura di comunicazione tra Rawabi City e Ramallah. Attraverso il sito web Rawabi.ps è possibile seguire in diretta i lavori in corso d’opera nella futura smart city palestinese.

Forse anche la pace passerà per la tecnologia. Di certo la rivoluzione digitale sta incidendo sempre più profondamente sulle nostre aspettative, più o meno come la comparsa dell’auto all’inizio del ventunesimo secolo.

Rawabi City, which will be built 25 kilometers in north of Jerusalem (about 9 kilometers in north of Ramallah), will consist of initial low cost 5,000 housing units, for 40,000 inhabitants, defined as accessible to the Palestinian middle class (average price 45-50,000 dollars for 130 square meters), arranged in 23 neighborhoods.

There will be offices, shopping centers, places for entertainment, parks, bike paths, hotels, cinema, conference rooms and fiber to connect all the area.

The final objective is the creation of a new city able to push the Palestinian and the Middle East economy, with advantages for investors, startups and companies which decide to partner there.

During its construction there will be job for more than 10,000 people, then, the ready smart city, there will be about 5,000 jobs to be assigned. In the project, also a new communication infrastructure between Rawabi City and Ramallah. Through the website Rawabi.ps, it is possible to look at the construction of the Palestinian future smart city. Perhaps peace, too, will pass through technology. For sure, the digital revolution is affecting more and more our expectations, more or less or as the car at the beginning of the twenty first century.

Sul fatto che sia considerata una diva, probabilmente l'elemento dell'impossibilità e quello della possibilità di averla hanno concorso a crearne un mito, eppure lei non vuole sentirsi apostrofare come diva né icona, ma semplicemente un’attrice, un’artista in continua crescita, anche personale, che ama lavorare con registi di culture diverse per arricchirsi di un’esperienza intima e che rimanga per sempre. Lo chiamano Mister Tod’s. E lui, Diego Della Valle, lunghi capelli vaporosi ravvivati di continuo, sciarpa al collo e catenine ai polsi, sembra gradire. Così come non gli dispiace il ruolo di capitalista illuminato e anticonformista ma con una spruzzata snobistica, di essere annoverato tra i massimi rappresentanti del made in Italy nel mondo, di essere provocatoriamente polemico con l’establishment economico e i potenti distribuendo a banchieri, imprenditori e manager patenti di “arzilli vecchietti”, “ragazzini incompetenti” e “furbetti cosmopoliti” con il risultato di farseli nemici.

Ed è curioso. Ama i dettagli al punto che Luca di Montezemolo dirà come il più grande difetto dell’amico fraterno sia proprio quello di non sapere delegare.

Ama l’ironia e ama anche gli scherzi: li fa alla maniera di quel film stupendo di Mario Monicelli, “Amici miei”, ma li subisce anche sfoggiando, dicono, un certo stile.

Ama i sogni, le comodità, il mare, la musica (Beatles, Mina, Lucio Battisti), il superlavoro, le donne, la famiglia.

Ed è già nonno. Tre i matrimoni: prima Simona, quindi Annamaria, infine Barbara, la quale è la sorella di Simona. E due i figli: Emanuele, avuto dalla prima moglie, e Filippo, avuto dall’ultima. Con il risultato che Emanuele e Filippo sono cugini-fratelli.

Born on 30th December 1953 in Casette d'Ete (Ascoli Piceno – Marche), Diego Della Valle is smart, intelligent and curious. He loves the details so much that Luca di Montezemolo says that the biggest defect of his close friend is just he does not know to delegate.

He loves the irony and also the jokes: he makes them in a similar way to the amazing movie of Mario Monicelli, "Amici miei" but he also undergoes them with style.

He loves the dreams, the comfort, the sea, the music (Beatles, Mina, Lucio Battisti), the overwork, the women and the family. And he is already a grandfather.

Three marriages: first with Simona, then with Anna and, finally, with Barbara, Simona’ sister.

And two children: Emanuele, born from his first wife, and Filippo, born from the last one.

La sua storia nasce dalla tradizione artigianale marchigiana. All’inizio c’è Filippo, il nonno: fa il calzolaio, il ciabattino, cucendo suole e tomaie nella cucina di casa.

Poi c’è Dorino, il padre: fa artigianalmente scarpe per grandi marchi. Infine c’è Diego: avrebbe dovuto diventare avvocato. Queste almeno le speranze del padre.

Va quindi all’università di Bologna ma invece delle aule di giurisprudenza preferisce frequentare il bar Zanarini con gli amici. Quattro esami in tutto e poi smette.

Va allora negli Stati Uniti, dove abbina un corso di marketing ad uno stage nei department store.

E gli diventano chiare le idee sul futuro. Così, quando torna in Italia, ha il chiodo fisso del marchio.

È poi padrone della squadra di calcio della Fiorentina; ha fondato insieme a Luca Cordero Montezemolo (un grande amico, i due sono chiamati “il gatto e la volpe”) e a un altro paio di persone una società privata di trasporto ferroviario (Ntv) che con Italo fa concorrenza nell’alta velocità a Trenitalia delle Ferrovie dello Stato; entra con piccole quote in quelle che una volta erano i “sancta santorum” del paese, da Mediobanca ad Unicredit sino alla casa editrice Rcs che stampa il più importante quotidiano italiano, il Corriere della Sera, e ci resta anche quando riconosce di essersi pentito; talvolta comunque esce dalle società in cui ha messo uno zampino, sbattendo a volte la porta oppure facendo buoni affari: nel 2006 incassa una plusvalenza di 250 milioni di euro vendendo le sue azioni della Bnl alla francese Bnp Paribas, nel 2013 ne guadagna altri 350 dalla vendita del 15% dei grandi magazzini del lusso Saks; ora sta rilanciando a Roma Cinecittà insieme ad un altro amico, Luigi Abete, ex presidente della Confindustria e numero uno della Bnl. Insomma, Della Valle è un tipo frenetico in tutto quello che fa.

Il padre, che coltiva sempre la speranza di vederlo tornare all’università, lo lascia fare ma non lo aiuta più di tanto.

E Diego va avanti come un bulldozer: ha l’idea di un prodotto innovativo dove tradizione, qualità e ricerca si uniscono, dove possono stare insieme lavoro e tempo libero, eleganza e sport, estetica e tecnica. Alla fine degli anni Settanta apre un ufficio a Milano e bussa alle porte degli stilisti, da Fendi a Krizia e Ferrè, con questa proposta: lui realizza gratuitamente le scarpe per le sfilate ed il ritorno in pubblicità è costituito dalle foto e dalle citazioni che appaiono sui giornali; in cambio gli stilisti ottengono un prodotto eccezionale. Nascono così le scarpe da donna “Diego Della Valle” per il prét-a-porter.

Ma si tratta solo di una breve parentesi di fronte a quella che rappresenta la vera svolta dell’azienda: le Tod’s.

Una volta mi racconterà così la sua intuizione: «Nei primi anni Ottanta mi sono reso conto che l’abito della domenica non era più il vestito buono di una volta e che al suo posto c’era un abbigliamento di buon gusto ma più informale. C’era quindi bisogno di scarpe che unissero l’eleganza alla praticità, la leggerezza alla comodità. Scarpe che potessero essere portate sia in spiaggia sia in ufficio». E inizia l’era delle Tod’s, le scarpe a pallini. Mocassini estivi e leggerissimi, con un nome scelto, dice ma non si sa quanto sia vero, aprendo a caso l’elenco telefonico di Boston ma che ha comunque il pregio di essere pronunciato nella stessa maniera in tutte le lingue. L’ispirazione dei pallini gli viene da uno strano tipo di calzature notate in Portogallo, quando il padre le vede gli dice di buttarle via.

Lui invece porta i pallini a 133 e, nato e cresciuto in una terra dove si respira sin dall’infanzia l’odore della pelle, produce le scarpe con questi gommini utilizzando pellami di ottima qualità. Ma accanto ad un capolavoro di artigianato con una settantina di fasi di lavorazione, Della Valle sfodera anche un’ottima strategia di marketing e di comunicazione: triplica, quadruplica il prezzo facendole diventare glamour, un accessorio cult.

The result is that Emanuele and Filippo are cousins-brothers.

His story was born from the craft tradition of Marche.

At the beginning, there was Filippo, the grandfather, who was a shoemaker, a cobbler, sewing soles and uppers in the kitchen of his house. Diego goes forward like a bulldozer: he has the idea of an innovative product where tradition, quality and research come together, where work and leisure, sport and elegance, aesthetics and technique can be together.

At the end of the ‘70s, he opened an office in Milan and begins to knock at the door of designers, Fendi, Krizia, Ferrè, with this proposal: he produces free shoes for the fashion shows and his redemption in advertising is made of photos and quotes that appear in the newspapers; and the designers get an excellent product.

In this way, the women's shoes "Diego Della Valle" for the pret-a-porter were born. But that was only a brief period, while the real turning point of the company will be Tod's.

Once he told me his insight: "In the early ‘80s, I realized that the Sunday dress was not the good dress we knew, and in its place, there were tasteful and more informal clothing. That’s why I felt that kind of clothing needed elegant and practical, lightweight and comfortable shoes, to be worn. on the beach and in the office".

The Tod's era began, the spotted shoes. Summer and lightweight loafers, branded with a name chosen by opening random the telephone directory of Boston with the advantage of being pronounced in the same way in all the languages. The inspiration of the dots came from a strange kind of footwear he saw in Portugal, which his father tells him to throw them away.

But he takes the shots at 133 and produces the shoes with these shots and high quality leather.

But together to a masterpiece of craftsmanship with seventy producing steps, Della Valle realizes a great marketing and communication strategy: he quadruples the price and makes them a glamorous and cult accessory.

E per quanto lui lo abbia sempre negato, in molti hanno creduto che le difficoltà iniziali di trovare le Tod’s sul mercato abbiano fatto parte di una precisa strategia di vendita: più non si trova una cosa, più il prodotto è esclusivo.

Le scarpe con i gommini finiscono così ai piedi dei vip, da Gianni Agnelli a Luca Cordero di Montezemolo, da Kevin Costner a Richard Gere, da Tom Cruise a Mel Gibson, da Lee Iacocca al re Juan Carlos. E a loro volta le foto di questi signori con ai piedi le scarpe con i pallini finiscono sui giornali di tutto il mondo. A 34 anni Della Valle è già ricco.

Poi ci sono le Hogan, i giacconi Fay ispirati agli indumenti dei pompieri di New York e le borse chic, la quotazione in Borsa, l’ingresso in vari consigli d’amministrazione, la villa a Capri appartenuta allo scrittore Axel Munthe, lo yacht di 16 metri che è stato di John Fitzgerald Kennedy (il Merlin) e il veliero di Calisto Tanzi (il Te Vega), le esternazioni contro i burocrati dello Stato e la gerontocrazia dell’establishment economico, la quasi ossessione velenosa nei confronti della Fiat, degli Elkann e di Sergio Marchionne. Politicamente Della Valle si definisce «uno di centro, moderato e laico». Finanziariamente ha aiutato negli anni il partito di Lamberto Dini, il centrosinistra di Romano Prodi, il partito di Silvio Berlusconi (almeno all’inizio), anche un quotidiano orgogliosamente comunista come Il Manifesto. Ora lancia severi appelli per il rinnovamento della politica italiana, per quanto abbia in quel mondo come faro personale Clemente Mastella, da tempo oscurato. Cambia comunque spesso opinione: adesso non va più d’accordo con il “rottamatore” Matteo Renzi dopo averlo in un primo tempo sostenuto.

Q

uella di Marco Balich e della sua società, Balich Worldwide Shows fondata con altri due partner Gianmaria Serra e Simone Merico, entrambi colleghi di vecchia data e veterani nell’entertainment industry.

Lui li chiama “spettacoloni” e dice che in questo lavoro “there’s no shortcut to emotions”, bisogna essere sinceri, veri e muovere le emozioni. Come? Non smettendo mai di essere “bambini”, o meglio: di guardare e pensare le cose con gli occhi di un bambino che per sua natura conserva intatta la capacità di meravigliarsi. Sembra semplice, ma è pura apparenza. La macchina organizzativa che si muove dietro alle cerimonie “alla Balich” è tutt’altro che banale.

Ogni progetto è unico e “fatto su misura”, basato sui valori e sulla storia di ogni cliente. Per eventi così importanti lavorano, per mesi e mesi, art director, light designer, programmatori audio e video, stage manager, props designer, project manager, … tutti coordinati dall’occhio vigile dell’Executive Producer, con la regia dell’artistic director.

hat of Marco Balich and his company, Balich Worldwide Shows founded with two other partners, Gianmaria Serra and Simone Merico, both colleagues from way back and entertainment industry veterans. He calls them big shows and says that “there’s no shortcut to emotions” in this business, you have to be sincere, true and provoke emotions. How? By never stopping being “children”, or rather, by looking at and thinking of things with the eyes of children, who by their nature keep the ability to be amazed. It seems easy, but that’s just appearance. The organising setup behind “Balich-style” ceremonies is in no way ordinary.

Each project is unique and is “custommade” for each client, based on the values and history specific to that client.

For such important events, art directors, light designers, audio and video programmers, stage managers, props designers, project managers work for months and months, … all coordinated by the watchful eye of the Executive Producer, with the direction of the artistic director.

Whether it is a private event like the “wedding of the century” or the Ceremony with the biggest audience in the world, those of the Olympic Games, Balich Worldwide Shows is there with its team, with its network of professionals around the world. La grande capacità della società non sta esclusivamente nel saper creare eventi on time on budget ma nel saper scoprire, conoscere ed entrare in contatto con culture diverse.

La regia è ferrea, il team, multiculturale, affiatato e in sintonia grazie a numerosi progetti seguiti insieme in ogni parte del mondo: Torino, Mexico City, Donetsk, Ashgabat, Rio de Janeiro, Sochi, Verona.

Italia, andata e ritorno. Ma non per molto. Presto si riparte per Rio dove nel 2016 ci saranno le Olimpiadi, le cui Cerimonie, prodotte da CC2016, porteranno guarda caso la firma dell’Executive Producer Marco Balich.

The company’s greatest talent is not just being able to create events on time and on budget, but knowing how to discover, get to know and enter into contact with different cultures. Quali sono le potenzialità in Medio Oriente per i brand che vogliono lanciarsi nella sfida dell’internazionalizzazione?

Nei prossimi 10 anni, in questa parte del mondo, si concentreranno tanti interessi economici e finanziari e questo a prescindere dagli eventi mondiali legati prima all’Esposizione Universale del 2020 a Dubai e successivamente il Campionato del Mondo di Calcio 2022 in Qatar.

Over the next 10 years, in this part of the world, there will be a focus of many many economic and financial interests, and this regardless of world events such as the EXPO 2020 in Dubai or the World Championship Soccer 2022 in Qatar.

La stessa passione per l’eccellenza ci spinge verso un forte senso di responsabilità sociale: EW vuole dar voce ad un’idea di lusso assolutamente opposta a quel mondo così esclusivo e fuori dall’ordinario, a volte sul filo dell’effimero, in cui opera. EW diventa ambasciatore sociale per coloro che sono privi delle essenziali condizioni di benessere, come curarsi, alimentarsi o ricevere un’educazione. What do you think of sustainable luxury?

The same passion for excellence drives us towards a strong sense of social responsibility: EW wants to give voice to an idea of luxury which is absolutely opposite to that world that is sometimes on the edge of the ephemeral. EW becomes social ambassador for those who are deprived of the essential conditions of well-being, such as how to care, feed or receive an education. And therefore we allocate some of our resources to the promotion of social projects which are aimed to scientific research, and children, the real future of the world.

Corre il 1981 quando Enzo Ferrari, in memoria del figlio affetto da distrofia muscolare, decide di dar vita al “Centro Dino Ferrari” dell’Università degli Studi di Milano. E sempre per sua volontà, nel 1984 viene costituita l’Associazione Amici del “Centro Dino Ferrari” per contribuire al sostegno promozionale e finanziario dello sviluppo delle attività del Centro stesso.

It is 1981 when Enzo Ferrari, in memory of his child ill of muscular dystrophy, decided to give life to the "Centro Dino Ferrari" of the University of Milan. And in 1984 the Association “Amici del Centro Dino Ferrari" was founded in order to promote and to fund resources to the activities of the Centre.

oday, as Honorary Chairman, Piero Ferrari continues his father's footsteps on this pact of friendship and passion for the research: "When my father was struck by the death of my brother Dino, he decided to help those who could defeat the terrible disease that had taken away his son.

My father helped many people privately, but for the fight against muscular dystrophy he wanted to do more: to help the medical world doctors to defeat it. That is why he decided to found the "Centro Dino Ferrari" and the Association that supports it.

With the same commitment, I wish to achieve my father’s goal: finding the cure".

The scientific research at the "Centro Dino Ferrari" is huge: more than 155,000 patients per year and a tireless staff of 136 doctors and researchers, the that made it an international excellence in acquiring new knowledge in neuroscience, to be applied to prevention, diagnosis and therapy.

It is a process full of small successes but also disappointments, and the Association has also the merit to give solidarity to the families of the patients.

ggi, in qualità di Presidente Onorario, Piero Ferrari prosegue le orme del padre su questo patto di amicizia e passione verso la ricerca: “Quando mio padre fu colpito dalla tragedia della scomparsa di mio fratello Dino, decise di aiutare chi avrebbe potuto sconfiggere la tremenda malattia che gli aveva portato via un figlio.

Mio padre aiutava molto gli altri in modo riservato, ma per la lotta alla distrofia muscolare volle fare ancora di più: aiutare i medici a debellarla. E’ per questo motivo che volle fondare il “Centro Dino Ferrari” e l’Associazione che lo sostiene.

Io con lo stesso impegno voglio contribuire a raggiungere quello che era l’obiettivo di mio padre: trovare la cura”.

La ricerca scientifica svolta presso il “Centro Dino Ferrari”, che con oltre 155.000 pazienti annui ed un instancabile staff di 136 medici e studiosi si è affermato come struttura di eccellenza internazionale, ha contribuito ad acquisire nuovo sapere nel campo delle neuroscienze, applicandolo a prevenzione, diagnosi e terapia.

Come ricorda Piero Ferrari, si tratta di un processo fatto di piccoli successi ma anche di delusioni, all’interno del quale l’Associazione ha anche il merito di coltivare solidarietà verso le famiglie dei malati.

Nel commentare lo straordinario sviluppo degli ultimi quarant’anni, il Direttore Prof. Nereo Bresolin, vede nel Centro un osservatorio pronto alla sfida del futuro scientifico, grazie ad esempio allo studio coltivato da sempre di genetica e cellule staminali, così come alla collaborazione instaurata con centri di ricerca in Europa, Stati Uniti, Canada e Brasile. Un risultato reso possibile dalla dedizione di scienziati che, per passione e straordinarie capacità, hanno creduto in un ideale: dal Prof. Guglielmo Scarlato, propulsore del progetto, ai professori Comi e Scarpini, dalla dottoressa Corti al dottor Torrente. Sono solo alcuni degli autori di quello che Bresolin definisce il miracolo scientifico del Paese Italia che, non avendo più la capacità di rinnovarsi investendo nella ricerca, dà vita ad un contesto nel quale anche le piccole raccolte fondi diventano fondamentali per guardare al futuro: “Se da una parte la Fondazione IRCCS Ca’ Granda Ospedale Maggiore Policlinico di Milano sta rinascendo, dall’altra ci si chiede se i nuovi spazi ci saranno affidati in tempi accettabili. Ciò che noi possiamo fare è mantenere al meglio questa struttura internazionalmente stimata, ma soprattutto adempiere al compito istituzionale di alimentare l’entusiasmo dei giovani per proseguire quanto da noi iniziato”.

Director Professor Nereo Bresolin believes that the “Centro Dino Ferrari” is an observatory of science which is ready for the challenge of the research thanks for example to the study of genetics and stem cells, as well as the collaboration with research centers in Europe, USA, Canada and Brazil. A result made possible by the dedication of scientists who, for passion and skills, believed in an ideal: from Professor G. Scarlato, engine of the project, to Professors Comi and Scarpini, from Dr. Corti to Dr. Torrente.

They are just some of the authors of what Bresolin defines the scientific miracle of Italy, which has no longer the capability to renew itself through the research and which creates a context where even small collections of funds are fundamental to look forward: "While the Fondazione IRCCS Ca 'Granda Ospedale Maggiore Policlinico in Milan is being revived, it is wondered if the new spaces will be made available shortly. What we can do is to keep at best this internationally reputed organization, and, above all, to fulfill the enthusiasm of young people to continue what we started".

Marialuisa Trussardi, President of the Friends of "Centro Dino Ferrari", opens an overview on a number of initiatives that meet the favor of benefactors, both in Italy and abroad, including rallies Ferrari vintage in charming historic locations and the Gala in Los Angeles with Muscolar Dystrophy Association.

There are several ways of support, such as promotion of cultural and research grants, all important and mutually complementary.

Vittorio Feltri si schernisce: “Ho fatto poco per il “Centro Dino Ferrari”, ma era tutto quanto potessi. Non penso di aver meritato il riconoscimento che mi è stato generosamente dato, ma sono egualmente contento di essere stato preso in considerazione.

Nella misura delle proprie capacità ciascuno di noi deve impegnarsi per aiutare gli scienziati che cercano di trovare un rimedio alle gravi malattie neurodegenerative. Occorrono finanziamenti, entusiasmo, ottimismo e anche molti mezzi tecnici. Per cui, cari amici, diamoci dentro offrendo almeno la nostra buona volontà. Un giorno, che mi auguro imminente, i ricercatori sconfiggeranno anche questo flagello che miete parecchie vittime anche fra giovani e giovanissimi”.

Feltri fa eco a Bresolin nell’affermare che senza dubbio l’iniziativa personale animata da spirito solidaristico debba supplire alla deficienza di quella pubblica, poiché a fronte di un welfare mastodontico alla ricerca vanno pochi spiccioli.

Perché tanto è stato fatto, ma tanto c’è ancora da fare per continuare a far fronte all’impegnativo compito intrapreso.

Each of us must commit to help scientists who are trying to find a remedy to serious neurodegenerative diseases. Funding, enthusiasm, optimism, and also many technical means are essential.

So, dear friends, let's be engaged in offering our goodwill.

One day, I hope imminent, researchers will defeat this disease that reaps many victims even among children and young people". Feltri has the same feeling of Bresolin in believing that personal initiative pushed by solidarity must compensate for the absence of the Government, since few funds are destined to research if compared to wealth public welfare. Because so much has been done, but there is still much to be done to face the challenging task.

Sig.ra Favretto, nel suo lavoro cosa rende una casa un luogo con personalità e stile?

La ricerca appassionata del dettaglio, sia un rivestimento, un materiale o un colore, che già colgo all’interno della casa non appena vi entro o che sento in qualche modo potrebbe avere una relazione con l’ambiente. Appoggio tutti i campioni sul mio tavolo di lavoro e tutto resterà lì come un’ispirazione, un riferimento costante ed una traccia quotidiana fino al completamento dell’intervento.

Da questo approccio traggo quell’ispirazione capace di creare un arredamento coerente e in armonia con l’ambiente e anche con la psicologia del proprietario.

L’interior design è prima di tutto un lavoro di sintesi di quanto il proprietario già sa e racconta di sé e di quello che vorrebbe comunicare in quel preciso momento della sua esistenza attraverso la propria casa, è un’interfaccia puntuale con il committente che va ad intercettare le sue volontà, non solo in termini di organizzazione funzionale dell’ambiente domestico, ma anche di interpretazione sottile delle sfumature della sua personalità.

Questo approccio garantisce l’originalità e la personalizzazione di ogni mio intervento e diviene tanto più attuale e importante quando l’intervento si rivolge ad un immobile già abitato che necessita di una ristrutturazione e di una rivisitazione degli interni che sappia al tempo stesso rispettare la storia dell’immobile e quella personale di chi intende, in veste assolutamente aggiornata, continuare ad abitarlo.

Mrs Favretto, in her work what makes a house a place with personality and style?

The passionate pursuit of detail, and a coating material or color, which I already find inside the house as soon as I go in it or I feel that somehow could have a relationship with the environment.

I stand all the samples on my desk and everything will remain there as an inspiration, a constant reference and track daily until the completion of the intervention.

From this I draw the inspiration which ables to create a fully consistent furniture and in harmony with the environment and with the psychology of the owner.

The interior design is primarily a work of synthesis since the owner already knows and talks about himself and what he would like to communicate at that moment in his life through his own house, it is an interface with the customer on time going to intercept his will, not only in terms of the functional organization of the home environment, but also in the interpretation of the subtle nuances of his personality.

This approach ensures the originality and personalization of each of my work and it becomes much more relevant and important when the intervention is aimed at a building already lived that needs a renovation and a review of the internal which will at the same time respect the history and personal property of those who wish, as absolutely up to date, continue to live there.

Quali sono gli attuali trend dell’interior design per il 2015?

C’è una grande tendenza al revival degli anni ’40 e ’50 per il mobile di qualità, con legni pregiati e curvati, tanto per il design italiano quanto per l’europeo. Poi una ritrovata ed estrema attenzione al tessile, ai colori, con il ritorno del verde, blu petrolio e cobalto. Inoltre c’è un ritorno degli anni ‘70 riguardo la carta da parati con disegni importanti o delle stampe in dimensioni macro, che danno forte personalità agli ambienti, chiaro segnale di superamento del minimalismo degli anni passati in cui si prediligevano superfici lasciate più spoglie, materiali lasciati grezzi e a vista.

Se vogliamo, in un contesto dominato dalla rete e dalle nuove tecnologia che caratterizzano il nostro quotidiano, possiamo interpretarlo come un revival un po’ nostalgico di certe atmosfere del passato.Certamente c’è una tendenza ed una maggiore sensibilità verso la riscoperta delle caratteristiche anche intrinseche del prodotto, della sua origine e manifattura, tendenza che possiamo riscontrare in tutta Europa. Così come è evidente che si allarga la dicotomia tra il design estremamente popolare e democratico, come può essere quello della grande distribuzione (Ikea per citare ormai un simbolo dei tempi attuali) e all’estremo opposto, senza vie di mezzo, la richiesta di arredamenti di manifattura d’autore e altissima qualità, di cui sono regine la tradizione italiana e francese ma verso cui si sta orientando a titolo di esempio anche il nuovo design spagnolo e a cui sta tornando fortemente un grande classico, la produzione danese.

What are the current trends in interior design for the 2015?

There is a great tendency to the revival of the '40s and' 50s for quality furniture, fine wood and curved, so much for the Italian design as for the European one.

Then a new-found and extreme attention to textiles, colors, with the return of the green, petrol blue and cobalt.

In addition, there is a return of the '70s about the wallpaper with drawings or prints in important macro dimensions, which give strong personality in the interior, a clear signal of exceeding the minimalism of the past years in which more favored areas left bare, and raw materials left in view. If we want to say it, in a context dominated by the network and the new technologies that characterize our daily life, we can interpret it as a revival of some 'certain nostalgic atmosphere of the past. Of course there is a tendency and a greater sensitivity to the rediscovery of the product's intrinsic features also, its origin and manufacturing, a trend that we can find in all Europe.

Come si evolve il concetto di lusso nell’interior design?

Il concetto di lusso sta cambiando notevolmente: quello degli anni passati era ostentato, talvolta pesante, quello di oggi è più raffinato, alla ricerca di pezzi originali, della tradizione di estrema qualità da mixare con rivestimenti più moderni ma comunque sempre personalizzati.

Se un certo minimalismo aveva spesso agevolato negli ultimi anni anche mobili di fattura meno pregiata, il nuovo concetto di lusso impone ora la bellezza e la qualità altissima di materiali e tessuti. Questo stile più attento alla qualità e all’originalità sta prendendo piede anche al di fuori dell’Europa, per esempio in Russia e nei paesi dell’Est Europa, ove fino a poco tempo fa si rincorreva uno stile più esibito e scintillante mentre ora si predilige una casa più ricercata, più d’autore, una casa spesso ricca di citazioni dotte e di creazioni uniche, esclusive, eseguite su committenza secondo i vecchi dettami di una manifattura diremmo quasi artigianale. Si è compreso che il vero lusso si basa sulle emozioni, sull’esperienza sensoriale goduta attraverso gli oggetti e gli ambienti, non significa solo possedere qualcosa di prezioso ma far propria il più possibile anche la storia e il bagaglio culturale che quell’oggetto porta con sé oltre all’energia infusa dal suo creatore.

How it evolves the concept of luxury in interior design?

The concept of luxury is changing dramatically: in earlier years was ostentatious, sometimes heavy, but that is now more refined, in search of original pieces, the tradition of the highest quality to be mixed with more modern finishes but always customized.

If a certain minimalism had often facilitated in recent years furniture of less value, the new concept of luxury now imposes the beauty and the high quality of materials and fabrics. This style, more focused on quality and originality, is taking place outside of Europe, for example in Russia and in Eastern Europe, where until recently it was chasing a more glittering style, now it is preferred a home more refined, more of author, often a house full of learned quotations and unique creations, unique, made on commission according to the dictates of an old factory, as we would say almost handmade.

It is understood that the real luxury is based on emotions, sensory experience enjoyed through the objects and environments, not just to have something valuable to own as much as possible but also the history and the cultural baggage that the object carries with itself over the energy infused by its creator.

Possiamo ancora parlare di made in Italy che detta stile e tendenze in fatto di design?

Certo, lo stile italiano dagli anni ‘40 ai ‘70 torna in auge con i nomi dei grandi designer come Ico Parisi e Paolo Buffa, per arrivare ad Achille Castiglioni ed ai grandi pezzi prodotti da Cassina, così come l’arte dell’illuminazione, penso a Stilnovo, una su tutte, nel nome di una manifattura italiana che, rieditata con inserti di modernità, avrà ancora molto futuro.

In tutte le più importanti fiere o riviste di settore c’è una presenza massiccia del tessile italiano e possiamo senza dubbio dire che l’amore per i dettagli e la ricercatezza dei tessuti rimane un’eccellenza ancora tutta italiana.

Proprio per questo bisogna convogliare e potenziare questo ricco bagaglio di saper fare e artigianalità sul design, non diversamente da quanto accade nel mondo della moda per la migliore tradizione sartoriale e manifatturiera.

Can we still speak of Italian style and that it trends in design?

Of course, the Italian style from the 40s to the 70s is back in vogue with the names of great designers like Ico Parisi and Paolo Buffa, to get to Achille Castiglioni and major pieces produced by Cassina, as well as the art of lighting, I think Stilnovo, one in all, in the name of an Italian manufacture that, re-edited with inserts of modernity, will still have a future.

In all the major trade shows or magazines, there is a massive presence of Italian textiles and we can definitely say that the attention to detail and sophistication of the tissues is yet an Italian excellence.

For this reason one needs to convey and reinforce this wealthy know-how on design and craftsmanship, not unlike what is happening in the fashion world for the best traditional tailoring and manufacturing.

Qual è la caratteristica che rende una casa o un ambiente realmente luxury, al di là del brand o dell’oggetto firmato?

L’unicità della casa - per quanto mi riguarda - nasce dal lavoro iniziale di cui parlavo sopra, che nasce a tavolino ma si sposta negli spazi reali, per confrontarsi con l’energia e la luce degli ambienti e non prescinde mai dalla cura del dettaglio, ma soprattutto dalla capacità di creare in quella casa un’atmosfera di isolamento dal resto del mondo, non ultima un’empatia tra il proprietario della casa e l’ospite; la casa deve trasmettere un sentimento di accoglienza e la voglia di starci dentro, di viverla e condividerla perché è unica e calzante con la personalità di chi la abita.

What is the feature that makes a house or an environment really luxury, beyond the brand or the signed item?

The uniqueness of the house - as far as concern me - arises from the initial work that I mentioned above, which it is born on the table but it moves in real space, to deal with the energy and the light of the environments and it never leaves the attention to detail but above all the ability to create an atmosphere in the house of isolation from the rest of the world, not least an empathy between the homeowner and the guest; the home must convey a feeling of warmth and the desire to be in it, to live it and share it because it is unique and fitting with the personality of its inhabitants.

Una domanda, questa, che potremmo rivolgere a Lorenzo Tersi, uno dei più esperti operatori del vino in Italia, anche in vista dell’Expo 2015, che si terrà a Milano dal 1° maggio al 31 ottobre 2015, e che vedrà realizzato, all’interno del Padiglione Italia, uno spazio autonomo, riconoscibile e dedicato all’esperienza vitivinicola italiana.

Lorenzo Tersi, fondatore di LT Wine & Food advisory, è un manager e consulente che vanta una lunga attività professionale e che promuove attivamente il tema delle aggregazioni, delle partnership e del Merger&Acquisition nel settore vinicolo, oltre a curare processi di marketing strategico e posizionamento comunicativo delle aziende che operano in questo campo. In primo piano, tratta di quei processi di cambiamento che vadano nella direzione dell’internazionalizzazione e del passaggio generazionale in seno al management, con l’obiettivo costante di diffondere la qualità e la crescita del vino italiano. Dal 2010, Tersi coordina il marketing di “Consorzio Chianti” e a lui si devono join operations come l’aver portato il marchio Fazi Battaglia in Campari o aver favorito una venture tra i vini di Montalcino, e per aver fatto lo startup della famiglia Fendi nel mondo vitivinicolo. Since 2010, Tersi coordinates the marketing of the "Consorzio Chianti" and he dealt with join operations such as bringing the brand Fazi Battaglia in Campari, he had favored a venture between the wines of Montalcino, and he had done the startup of the Fendi family in wine world. I soggetti del comparto che vogliano cogliere le nuove opportunità offerte dai mercati hanno l’esigenza di adeguarsi e innovare.

The wine sector is crossed by a number of important changes. What is the profile of the typical Italian company today?

The charm of the wine that is generated by features of the area of origin with micro-environment and the natural cycles interwoven with their rituals are typical characteristics of traditional companies, today the company - market requires cultural and economic changes.

The players in the sector who want to seize new market opportunities need to adapt themself and innovate.

Consigli per gli imprenditori del vino che saranno presenti al Padiglione Italia di Expo 2015?

Expo sarà certamente una vetrina internazionale per i produttori, ma anche l'occasione di dedicare una specifica attenzione al turismo del vino, alle città del vino, alle strade del vino, alla cultura del territorio e delle bellezze italiane legate al vino, concertandola con le Regioni partner di Padiglione Italia. Avremo il compito di far conoscere il bello, il buono e la socialità dell'Italia.

Tips for business owners of the wine that will be present at the Italian Pavilion of Expo 2015?

Expo will certainly be an international showcase for manufacturers, but also the opportunity to devote specific attention to wine tourism, to the city of wine, the wine routes, the local culture and beauty related to Italian wine, also thank a partnership with regions of the Italian Pavilion. Nel mondo del vino si è verificato un cambiamento generazionale così come è avvenuto per la politica?

Più che altro nelle grandi famiglie del vino si è già da qualche tempo verificato un processo di integrazione tra il modello ad impronta familiare italiano e la presenza di manager e risorse umane esterne. Saper cogliere queste opportunità esterne significa anche saper guardare lontano e sostenere i processi di cambiamento che guardano al futuro del mondo del vino e curare processi di marketing strategico e posizionamento comunicativo.

Lo scatto perfetto nasce nella mente.

Immaginare qualcosa di unico ed esclusivo per mettere in atto quello che poi verrà chiamato scatto d'autore.

Attenzione maniacale nel comporre l'immagine, cura dei dettaglie professionalità nel portare avanti il progetto è il punto di arrivo. Non scatto mai velocemente, il tempo e la pazienza sono una parte importante dei miei strumenti di lavoro. Così come la luce e la location, che ogni volta deve essere “giusta” per rispondere ai requisiti definiti in fase creativa, nel caso di una campagna pubblicitaria, o che sia capace di creare feeling con la persona da ritrarre.

Questo si crea grazie al fotografo che veste il ruolo dello psicologo per tirare fuori quello che il soggetto ha dentro e metterlo a proprio agio. Il bravo fotografo riesce a restituire la naturalezza e la personalità del soggetto ritratto.

ccustomed to working with and in excellence, what does a photo a shoot of author?

The perfect shot arises in the mind.

Imagine something unique and exclusive to implement what would later be called snap of author. Meticulous attention to compose the image, attention to detail and professionalism in carrying out the project is the point of arrival. I don’t snap ever faster, time and patience are an important part of my work tools. Just as the light and the location, that every time he has to be "right" to meet the requirements defined in the creative phase, in the case of an advertising campaign, or is able to create feeling with the person to be portrayed.

This is created thanks to the photographer as the role of the psychologist to pull out what's inside the person and put him at ease. A good photographer is able to provide the naturalness and personality of the subject.

La fotografia ha da sempre raccontato il lusso, quali sono gli elementi iconici che rendono l’immagine realmente luxury?

La nostra storia è piena di riferimenti iconici che ci fanno sognare, senza tempo, come in una dimensione parallela e che hanno contribuito ampiamente ad alimentare l’immaginario del lusso. Il potere evocativo della fotografia sta nel riuscire, in maniera prepotente, a influenzare la percezione della realtà, il gusto estetico, storico e artistico, in uno scambio biunivoco tra chi scatta e chi la guarda.

Credo che il vero lusso oggi sia tornare all’autenticità dell’immagine, senza interventi troppo drastici in fase di post produzione; la tendenza tra gli addetti ai lavori è quella di tornare all’artigianalità del gesto fotografico con un’estrema qualità al momento dello scatto più che soffermarsi troppo sul ritocco, che tende invece a snaturare, solo così la foto può continuare ad emozionare.

Photography has always told the luxury, what are the iconic elements that make an image truly luxury?

Our history is full of iconic references that make us dream, timeless, as in a parallel dimension, which contributed largely to feed the imagination of luxury.

The evocative power of photography is to be able, in an overbearing way, to influence the perception of reality, the aesthetic, historical and artistic taste, in a two-way exchange between in a two-way exchange between those who snaps and those who watch.

I think the real luxury today is to return to the authenticity of the image, without too much drastic interventions in post production; the trend among the experts is to return to craftsmanship of the act of photography with extreme quality when shooting rather than dwell too much on remodeling, which tends to distort, just so the photo may continue to excite.

Quali sono i nuovi trend nel binomio lusso fotografia?

Siamo sommersi da immagini smart ma quello che fa la differenza è farsi realizzare qualcosa che resterà per sempre unico e speciale per se stessi. Un trend del momento è ad esempio la realizzazione di libri fotografici o video, curati con la massima attenzione e qualità tecnica e creativa, che raccontino e fissino nel tempo un momento di vita privato e intimo.

Scatti concepiti appositamente per quell’ambiente, quell’evento, quell’atmosfera, capaci di carpire le emozioni dei soggetti ritratti. Universali, mai obsoleti, sempre capaci di portare la mente a quel preciso istante, di inestimabile valore. Avere degli scatti d'autore è un lusso come farsi un abito su misura dal miglior sarto.

What are the new trends in the binomial luxury photography?

We are inundated with images smart but what makes the difference is getting to do something that will always be unique and special for themselves.

A current trend is for example the creation of photo books or videos, handled with the utmost care and technical and creative quality that tell and fix in a time a private and intimate moment of life. Shots specially designed for that environment, event, atmosphere, able to grasp the emotions of the subjects.

Universal, never obsolete, always able to bring the mind at that very moment, priceless. Having shots of author is a luxury like having a bespoke suit by the best tailor.

Qual è il futuro della fotografia d’autore e quali sono i suoi prossimi impegni internazionali?

Il futuro della fotografia sarà sempre più verso un connubio con le fine arts e la produzione multimediale, anzi posso affermare che l’occhio del fotografo di moda apporta un valore aggiunto notevole alla qualità dei video, anche perché gode di sensibilità estetica e attenzione alle luci. Riguardo il mio lavoro, mi sposterò tra Cannes, Dubai e Hong Kong ma tengo a citare l’evento tenuto al Citè internationale des arts di Parigi ove sono esposti i miei scatti accanto a quelli dei fotografi di moda più famosi, venduti con una tiratura limitatissima, esempio della fotografia che sempre di più si accinge ad essere considerata una vera e propria opera d’arte.

What is the future of art photography and what your next international work?

The future of photography will be more and more towards an alliance with the fine arts and multimedia production.

I can say that the eye of fashion photographer brings significant added value to the quality of the video, because it has aesthetic sensibility and attention to the lights. As for my work, I'll move between Cannes, Dubai and Hong Kong, but I want to mention the event held at the CitĂŠ Internationale des Arts in Paris where my shots are on display alongside those of the most famous fashion photographers, sold with a limited edition, an example of photography that more and more is going to be considered a true work of art.

Al momento – in modo molto cauto – possiamo affermare che tutti i mercati sono in crescita. Quelli che beneficiano maggiormente di un momento favorevole sono Stati Uniti e Asia. Anche ilmercato del Middle East è sempre stato molto stabile soprattutto per quanto riguarda imbarcazioni molto grandi.

Quali gli sbocchi in mercati emergenti e ad altissimo potenziale come Qatar e Medio Oriente?

Benetti ha sempre avuto molti clienti in Medio Oriente e Qatar e continuiamo ad averli. La nota positiva è che – a differenza di qualche anno fa – oggi abbiamo una clientela nuova, interessata anche a imbarcazioni più piccole, della Class Range. (n.d.r. Nel 2013 è stato inaugurato un nuovo ufficio commerciale diretto a Dubai e nominato Nabilel Jammal quale Area Manager per il Middle East. L’apertura del nuovo punto di rappresentanza risulta particolarmente strategica al fine di presidiare ancora più efficacemente l’area del Medio Oriente consolidando una presenza oramai “storica” da parte del Gruppo Azimut-Benetti, vero e proprio “first-mover” nell’area già dagli anni ottanta).

Mr. Ermetto, your first challenge in the new role is to strengthen the commercial development of Benetti: which are the most potential growth markets for the segment of Mega Yacht?

At the moment, to be very cautious, we can say that all the markets are growing. Those ones that are benefiting of a particular positive moment are USA and Asia. Even the Middle East has always been very stable, mainly in the segment of very large boats.

Which are the opportunities in fast growing emerging markets, such as Qatar and Middle East?

Benetti had always many customers in the Middle East and Qatar and we continue to develop there. The good news is that – differently from few years ago - we have now new customers that are also interested in smaller boats, those ones of the Class Range.

(Editor's Note In 2013, a new commercial office was opened in Dubai and Nabilel Jammal was appointed Area Manager for the Middle East. The opening of a new direct office is strategic in order to be close to customers in the area of the Middle East and consolidate an historic presence of Azimut-Benetti Group, a true "first-mover" in the 80’s.)

The open door to innovative solutions and technologies has always been a feature of Benetti. Today, we continue to do so both with the development of the research, with the deep and solid foundation of the Italian tradition, and opening to all that the world has to offer in terms of development and technology.

How is the brand Benetti able to catch the new trends in order to create innovative products that meet the new needs of the market?

We are very global both in physical terms - with offices in key locations such as Dubai, Hong Kong, London, Fort Lauderdale, apart from the sites in Livorno and Viareggio – and in terms of approach to customers. Our customer portfolio is international. We have to listen to different cultural origins owners’ and that allows us to broaden our knowledge and background, in order to develop complex and advanced solutions.

Which are the last innovations of Benetti Yacht?

Among the latest innovations, we have the Fast Displacement line, fast yachts in composite structure which are built in the site of Viareggio, hulled D2P (displacement to planning), a technology that combines high performance without sacrificing the comfort of displacement yachts.

The line has actually two models, the F-140'and the F125', with 8 models (four for both), already sold.

We presented the first model, the Fast 140, had its world premiere at the Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show few weeks ago. A yacht with a strong personality coming both from the technological innovations of the hull and propulsion systems, and from the strong distinctive style of design and furnishings. Behind the project, there is the new hull designed by Studio Pierluigi Ausonio Naval Architecture and the Research & Development Department of Azimut – Benetti Group. The first evident advantages are the cruising speed of 12 knots and the low consumption, but also the opportunity of travelling with high speed (over 20 knots) and high comfort. It is a semi-custom yacht with D2P hull (displacement to planing), an innovative project that excites both the Benetti customers, who desire higher speeds, and those ones approach Benetti for the first time.

n the frantic search of creating something unique that met the criteria of uniqueness and quality, Georges Martin, creative director of the maison, combines a passion for beauty of European origin with the ambition to create something that goes beyond the simple trends. Un tema sensibile quest’ultimo per il quale Catwalk Exotique non vuole tradire il rispetto per il territorio dove affonda le proprie radici, accertandosi di dare un contributo a quello stesso ambiente che gli permette di raccogliere le pelli migliori. Per ogni tre esemplari, allevati in ben 400 metri quadrati di spazio, solo uno viene tenuto al fine di garantire la sopravvivenza della specie, scrivendo a chiare lettere la parola sostenibilità nei must del proprio business.

La vastità della riserva assicura ai coccodrilli l’assenza di problemi territoriali, fonte di lotte e di conseguenza di segni ben visibili sulla pelle che ne sminuirebbero fra l’altro la ricercatezza.

Il dictat dell’eccellenza prosegue anche nella fase della conciatura e quindi della verniciatura dove l’avanguardia dei prodotti odierni viene sapientemente combinata con le tecniche tradizionali di una volta, scandite dai tempi di lavorazione e dall’abilità artigianale tramandata di generazione in generazione che affonda le radici del saper fare nei mastri sellai inglesi poi migrati in Australia. Se c’è un ingrediente segreto nel cocktail di Catwalk Exotique, altri non può essere che la passione di tutti coloro che prendono parte al processo di lavorazione, dagli allevatori agli stilisti agli artigiani: un processo che ha richiesto due anni per essere messo a punto e che non ha tardato ad essere apprezzato da clienti privati di tutto il mondo che si sono sbizzarriti nelle richieste di personalizzazione.

Ma il vero banco di prova per entrare di diritto nell’Olimpo del lusso sarà l’Europa, un mercato difficile e maturo, tuttavia pur sempre in grado di conferire la consapevolezza di aver raggiunto l’eccellenza. Francia e Italia, veri punti di riferimento, non sono insensibili a qualità, sostenibilità e stile senza tempo. Attenderemo il loro verdetto.

E vino, innanzi tutto.

La diversità geografica e la frammentazione culturale hanno da sempre rafforzato tradizioni culinarie fortemente legate al territorio più di quanto non sia accaduto in altri paesi,

creando un patrimonio ricco e variegato. Basti pensare ad Eataly che della provenienza territoriale del prodotto ha fatto un marchio vero e proprio, ad oggi fortemente affermato soprattutto in Giappone e Russia. Non è da sottovalutare l’annosa questione dei prodotti diffusi all’estero che suonano essere italiani, ma di italiano hanno solo l’ispirazione del nome. Probabilmente il rovescio della medaglia per una cultura tanto diversificata quanto frazionata che, anche nella distribuzione, non riesce ancora ad imporsi all’estero come un’unica voce corale ben distinta dalla altre. Valorizzare il cibo e l’alimentazione. In una società consumista suona piacevolmente come un messaggio da riscoprire.
