We love to spotlight hard work and enthusiasm toward great patient care year-round, but during this time of thanks we would like to shine a light of appreciation from our patients as well! “I came in Monday with a horrible abscessed tooth. I checked in and not even 5 minutes later I was taken back and put in a room and the nurses and doctors had come in and I felt comfortable and safe. I ended up getting admitted and I stayed till Wednesday afternoon. While I was there, I was treated like a person and the nurses showed compassion and concern. Marie and Caroline are two amazing nurses who work on the 3rd floor who watched over my room. Those two ladies were so friendly and kindhearted and never once made me feel like I was a pest or a bother to them. They were on time with my medicine every time and always came right away when I needed them. They deserve all the credit that can be given because they are just downright amazing women. I want to thank the staff of Frick Hospital for the treatment I received, and I will be back in the near future!”

Delivering guidance for a mother Maternity Center staff Westmoreland Hospital

“I've recently given birth at the hospital and I'm compelled to send this just to say thank you to the amazing nursing staff in the maternity ward. I had a few complications that were addressed so quickly and efficiently that kept my little girl safe and I'm grateful. There were multiple nurses that saw me over the 3 nights I was there, and everyone was so professional, knowledgeable, and truly caring. So thank you all so very much!”

“I just had bilateral knee replacement and went to EPIC for rehab. Everyone there was great. I couldn’t do anything when I got there, but Deb gave me all the encouragement and patience the first night that I got myself in and out of bed.

That was the turning point for me. She was an angel. Everyone from the therapists to the doctors were great, making me feel like I was the only one there. I was there for 5 days and I feel it was the best choice. Three weeks after surgery I am walking without the walker or cane and riding my stationary bike. I know I still have a way to go but EPIC is outstanding. Thanks for everything especially Deb.”

One Excela Health nurse who went above and beyond was Carol Aigner, RN (FH ED). Carol and her family took it upon themselves to pick up litter around the Frick campus. They filled three large trash bags! This was done to prepare for the Site Visit and to make sure we could all show off our #Excelapride at Frick! Kudos to Carol and her family – thank you so much!”
