Our Mission

We provide the people, place, and path for exceptional youth mental healthcare.

As the year ends, and we take the moment to reflect upon all we are grateful for, your support of our mission is top of mind.

Whether you make a gift, volunteer, or share insights with us about how to grow and improve, we are deeply appreciative of the investment you make in us. You help Edgewood deliver excellent care and support to the children and families who need us most.

We are proud to share with you that this year, we helped thousands in our communities across the Bay Area. Whether we were attending to an acute mental health crisis, providing on-going in-patient therapy, delivering resources to kinship families, or feeding the hungry, we did our work knowing that you stand behind us, cheering us on. Thank You. Thank You. Thank You.

As we continue to reemerge from the pandemic and look toward the future, we are excited by the promise of what is to come. Edgewood is in a strong position financially. Our Board of Directors is dedicated to sound financial governance and programmatic growth. We have created actionable plans to expand our mental health outpatient services. We are branding ourselves and launching a new website so that others in our community learn of Edgewood and the wealth of services we provide.

Hand in hand with you, we are thrilled to embark on the challenging work ahead. We are so grateful to have you on this journey with us.

Sincerely,

Fiscal Year 2024

Auxiliary Members

This year, the Edgewood Auxiliary celebrated 75 years of service to Edgewood. In addition to hosting the fair, the Auxiliary planned 4 creative events for our clients and utilized their design skills and resources to refresh the interior of one of Edgewood’s historic cottages. We are so grateful to our generous and enthusiastic Auxiliary members.

58th Edgewood Fair

The 2024 Fair was held at the Olympic Club. This special event, hosted by the Auxiliary, brings together business leaders, philanthropists, and community supporters in celebration of Edgewood. A special reception was held to celebrate the Auxiliary’s 75th anniversary, which many former members attended. This year, the Fair raised $431,653 for Edgewood.

Campus Centennial Celebration 100 th

This year, our Vicente Campus turned 100. Our community came together to learn about the profound impact of the services provided on this campus and hear about plans for expanding our outpatient mental health services.

Edgewood is determined to build a community where every child in the Bay Area thrives, where

mental health isn’t a stigma but a strength, a foundation for healing, and a brighter future.

Here’s to the next 100 years!

Volunteers

We are grateful for all volunteers who serve Edgewood. Over 200 volunteers participated with us at events at our locations across the Bay Area.

According to the CDC, in 2023 Around

(40%) high schools students felt persistently sad or hopeless.

Nearly Around

(29%) experienced poor mental health in the past 30 days.

(20%) seriously considered attempting suicide.

Nearly

4 in 10 1 in 3 1 in 5 1 in 10

(9%) attempted suicide. This ongoing crisis is why we need Edgewood, more than ever.

“I was a patient [at Edgewood] in April 2021, and because of the connections and people I met there-it led me to the path of work I do now. I am now 19, working with youth and being the guidance that youth need. Edgewood taught me the importance of that. Thank you for changing my life for the better and thank you to all the counselors there for believing in me. You’re the reason why I’m here now.”
