VARIABLE 3D PATTERN

This is a panel using relatively simple over hanging pyramids with little variation and as a result the overal design looks rather simplistic and unintersting.

Here there is dramatically more variation inbetween the panels and as a result the piece is much more interesting to look at.

EXPLORING 3D PANELLING

This is the final model rendered with rhino on the arctic render setting

Here the grey represents the modules that comprise the piece. The green and orange shapes represent the bounding boxes for the modules. these bounding boxes allow each pyramid to over hang. When panelling the model on rhino I left each pyramid as a NURB and not a mesh. this allowed for the modules to be deformed helping to increase the variation between pyramids. I then extracted the vertices for the each deformed pyramid and used them to reconstruct new developable modules.

APPENDIX

Here I am cutting out the packagenet with a knife and then scoring the fold lines to ensure a cleaner fold, also with a knife.

This is an example of a complete- Here I am folding and glueing Here I am glueing each module ly cut and scored packagenet each module together. together to form the model. I am using a combination of bulldog clips and pegs to hold the model together as it dries.
